This is overdue, but my wife and I really enjoyed using Sundance for our wedding transportation in early May. We had a group of around 40 people from out of town that were staying at a hotel about 5 miles from the wedding venue. We thought it would be nice for people to take advantage of the expensive open bar once they arrived, so we used Sundance. Everything was great. Communication was always top notch whether it was e-mail or phone, the bus showed up on time and left on time at the end of the night, and the offering to provide a cooler with ice so we could provide our guests a bus ride beverage was a nice touch. If we have another event that needs group transportation, we will definitely use Sundance again. read more

We rented two 55 seat motor coaches for our wedding in San Diego. The entire contract process was professional. They arrived on time to the pick-up location. We ran into a small problem with one of the buses, however the company quickly resolved the issue by sending another one to pick up our guests. As the bride, I was unaware of all the behind the scenes problem solving, but I'm glad that our event went smoothly. The buses were modern, clean and our drivers did a great job. Sundance Stage Lines has competitive prices, efficient drivers. I recently used Sundance Stage Lines for transportation for my wedding. We found the price to be better than most others offered in the area for a large tour bus (seating 40-50ppl, which are the only size buses in their fleet) and the sales staff was very accommodating and even worked to try and personally resolve some last minute transportation logistics we had. The driving service in general was a good experience. Our only knocks were the buses were pretty standard and somewhat older and our driver wasn't the most customer service oriented. But if you're looking for timely, efficient and affordable bus service, take a look at Sundance. read more

I hired Sundance Stage Lines to transport my wedding guests from Point Loma to Coronado. The wedding was on the beach in Coronado, which has no parking so we had our guests bused to the spot. Sundance showed up early, with 2 amazingly clean buses and with 2 very professional drivers. The drivers were patient, flexible as our leave time kept fluctuating and were very pleasant to all of our guests. The trip was smooth and flawless. I cannot say enough good things about this company and will refer them whenever I hear someone who is looking to hire a bus company. I booked Sundance to charter guests to/from the PB area for my wedding in Escondido. That may have been the single greatest mistake of my life. They asked for a point of contact to talk to the charter buses. They never contacted him and on the day of the wedding when the shuttles were late, the point of contact couldn't get a dispatcher on the line to find out what was going on, meanwhile 50+ wedding guests were standing around the front of a hotel wondering. So myself as the groom was left to wonder if those guests would ever be arriving as I rode a different shuttle to the wedding. That shuttle was on-time and awesome. Oh but, it was booked through a different company, I should add. Once the point of contact finally let me know there was a bus on the way to the hotel and the driver was running late to, "Pick up ice," (there was no ice on the bus) the entire wedding was 20-30 minutes behind schedule. Eventually when they discovered the bus, it was parked in the street (about 150 yards away, around a blind corner) and the driver never called, drove through the pick-up area or let his presence be known. Brilliant service. Once the wedding ceremony started 20 minutes late due to this, I thought the worst was over. Wrong. Painstakingly wrong. As the two buses arrived for return service from the winery our wedding planner spoke with both drivers and informed them not to leave until she released them. She didn't realize you can't tell a Sundance driver what to do! Clearly her mistake. Bus #1 leaves with 15 people onboard. 40 empty seats for those of you keeping score at home. We were hoping to fit the remaining people on bus #2 and becoming flexible to solve the situation. So guests who drove themselves started taking excess passengers in their cars to drive people out of their way and back home. Maybe know we solved it? Nope. We were left with 56 people for 55 seats. Ok, 1 extra person someone can stand right? Wrong again. One of the passengers is 7 years old, she can ride on a lap right? Still wrong. Well what does the driver do to help resolve the situation? Nothing. He refuses to call the other bus, which had now left almost 30 minutes prior back, or even at all for that matter. I, as the groom of the wedding, had to call a guest on bus #1, have her tell the bus driver to come back for more people. We're now 45 minutes after the reception has closed. So multiple people then volunteer to get a cab, from Escondido to Pacific Beach, just so the bus will leave. Nope. The driver who wouldn't call the other bus, now says he has to wait for bus #1 to come back....? Meanwhile on bus #1...the bus flips a U-turn around 75% of the way back to PB and the driver doesn't tell anyone why. The guest who I had called hears the rumblings and explains to the 15 people what is going on. We stand around waiting for bus #1 to return, it finally does, I think 8 people move from bus #2 to bus #1 and then we finally depart. Oh yeah and then to make up for lost time we drive 45mph the entire way back. Maybe Sundance will reimburse all the families who paid babysitters overtime? At least several days later they apologized, offered a small discount or were just polite, right? NOOOOPPPPPPEEEEE! And Stephen M from Big Bear must have been at a different wedding. read more

My husband and I booked Sundance Stage Lines to Charter our wedding in Escondido. All of our gusts were staying at the Catamaran in Pacific Beach and we needed two 55 person charter buses to take our guests back to Pacific Beach after the wedding. Our wedding ended at 10pm but we contracted the charter buses till 11:30pm just in-case the wedding ran over. Our wedding ended promptly at 10pm and our coordinator requested that both charter buses wait until she released them to ensure all passengers were on the buses. For some reason the first bus left a few minutes later with only 15 passengers on board. Once I discovered the mistake I ask the remaining bus driver to call the other driver and request that he turn around. The driver refused my request and said he would not call the other driver. One of our groomsmen happens to be a police officer and was finally able to convince him to call. At this point about 30 minutes had past and 25 of my guests were standing in the dark and dirt behind the winery. It took another 20 minutes for the bus that left to return. This delayed our trip by over an hour and we were late to our after party. I felt terrible that after such a wonderful event our guest were standing in the dark or just sitting on a bus waiting. A few days after the wedding I called Sundance to see what type of concession they were willing to offer us. At the time of booking they seemed to be a respectable company that cares about their clients and reputation. Unfortunately this is not case and I'm very disappointed in they way they treated my husband and I. I spoke with Laurie and explained the situation. She referenced my contract saying the first bus was supposed to leave at 9:15 and that is why he left shortly after 10pm. I reviewed my contract and it specifically states in military time '2115 APPROX DEPART FOR RETURN AS DIRECTED'. The contract states approximate and as directed. We directed the bus to wait and paid for the service until 11:30pm. When I asked Laurie if she felt her driver did anything wrong she stated No. I further asked her if it made sense that a 55 person bus leave with only 15 passengers on board and she replied that it had to stay on schedule. When I called Sundace I wasn't expecting a full refund just an apology and maybe $100-$200 refund. I received neither of these and Sundance refused to take any accountability for what happened. I understand that things sometimes go wrong...I run a business. But when things go wrong I accept accountability for the actions of my employees and rectify the situation for my clients. I really wish Sundance had this same mentality. If you are looking a great charter bus company for a special event I would look elsewhere. read more

I served as director of the travel group of the City of Vista for ten years. During that time, I sent out as many as 10 day trips and 2 multi-day trips a month. I used Sundance Stage Lines motor coaches almost exclusively during that entire time. The reason? I was sending up to 42 people, mainly senior citizens, to an endless variety of destinations, and I would not entrust them to any but the safest coaches and the most cooperative and skilled drivers. I have personally escorted trips as far as the Albuquerque Balloon Festival and the Grand Canyon, and it is a great relief to be able to relax and take care of your passengers in safety and with the utmost cooperation. You get to know a company, the drivers and the office staff very well over the long haul, and Sundance is the best.. A major plus is that Sundance has its own mechanics and inspections are ongoing. I can honestly say that in all the years, including trips I have taken as a passenger after leaving the City of Vista, Sundance Stage Lines has NEVER let me down. read more

This company is great! I got multiple quotes for wedding guest transportation and they were by far the best price! Not only that, but their customer service team is ABOVE AND BEYOND! My wedding venue was a private residence with a long driveway. It was important to me that the busses come all the way down the rather long driveway (1/4 mile or so) to drop guests off. To make sure the busses could turn around and would not get stuck, they had a team member drive up to the venue (on a mountain in San Diego no less!) to check out the layout and make sure it could all be done safely and that there were no disasters on my Big Day! Terrible customer service. Driver was ignorant, lazy and rude. The job and the service they are being paid to provide, are not difficult. Drive x number of people to a specific location and then drive them back to a specific location. Simple, right? Sundance Stage Lines was incapable of accomplishing this task for a wedding and once presented with the mistakes they made, they failed to own up to them and right their wrongs.
