One was easier to see but was very dirty from being outside so couldn't be inspected for damages. The other was sandwiched in between multiple other slabs so you could only see the top 5 inches or so of a 5'x 4' slab. But they wouldn't move it out to see unless you guaranteed to buy one of them (which you couldn't see) with a $100 deposit. So to see the slab, it will cost you $100. If there is damage or the colors don't match your tile (which I had in hand to match), you're out $100? For checking? I've been to numerous stone places throughout the inland empire and in OC and have never come across this policy. Interesting indeed.

I came inside this store, and of course, the front is very small. It had display sinks and drawers. About four employees had desks with computers to help patrons with their orders. Someone quickly asked for my order number, and swiftly brought out my shelves. Brownie points because he also carried the shelves out to my car and put them in the trunk for me! Mathis will not help you or own up to any mistakes made on their own part. They want you to double check their sales team's work and make sure they order the right things. You know, because that's your job as the customer. Save your time and your money and shop anywhere else. I'd rather buy a cheap Amazon piece of furniture, because they'd at least treat us with respect. This place sucks and I'd give 0 stars if I could. Don't ever shop here. People are pushy, rude, and don't care to treat you like a human being.
