If you're looking to support a racist and inadequate establishment, this is the place to go! My mother and I stopped during our road trip and waited over 30 minutes to pay because the restaurant has not invested in an adequate payment system. A dysfunctional payment system made them unable to process credit cards or Apple payments. Our waitress (blonde woman with hoop nose ring) demanded that we go to an ATM down the street and return with cash payment. Keep in mind, we already waited patiently for 30 minutes in hopes that the credit card reader would recalibrate. I return after visiting the local Walmart for cash back and politically request a discount for the 1-hour in convenience. The waitress, (blonde hoop ring) begins berating me and calling me "a thief" and claims I'm "stealing." I politely explain that I have experience in the customer service industry and hoped they would understand how largely they inconvenienced me. However, the waitress repeatedly shouts over me calling me "thief" and threatens to call the police department on me. At a loss for words, I explain that I have no issue paying the bill but was looking for a comprise. I hand her payment and she explains that she "doesn't want a tip from people like you." The restaurant manager allowed her to berate me in front of the restaurant. The entire experience with the waitress was racially-charged and aggressive. Service can be fast sometimes and other times it can be under staffed to where it's slow. Food has always been good, I personally haven't had much besides their breakfast but each time I'm here is always been good. The place is big, I just feel that after Covid, this place is slow down. This is the best restaurant for hundreds of miles around. The servers are all friendly prompt and hard working. The menu has lists of variety with like 6 pages. They do breakfast and lunch and dinner very well. The variety and quality of the food combined with the pleasant hometown atmosphere make for a wonderful meal anytime. We stopped in on our way to the wine and beer festival. Contrary to what I read on some of the reviews this place was great. The hostess was outgoing, friendly, quick and the waiter was on top of it. However, if you like strong coffee I suggest you bypass ordering it. When my husband ordered the coffee it tasted like water. He switched to the mimosa and it was really really good that I ordered one myself. My husband ordered the Two Two Two and I ordered the French toast. The atmosphere is like a retirement home, it was eerily quiet and dark. I ordered French toast that was more like bread with scrambled eggs thrown on it, and I had a bite of something awful in one of the slices that I actually had to spit out. There was a rotten smell to it as well. Started to feel sick afterwards. Coffee was stale also. Rather than complain I just paid and left as fast as I could. All around poor experience. read more

Based on the pictures I had thought I hit a gem. I was wrong. Corned beef hash is canned. Home fries are deep fried and the sausage gravy looks like paste and is heat and eat. I didn't even bother to ask if the ham was actually off the bone. Coffee is ok no bitter taste Staff is nice and the environment is welcoming. Wish I could rate the food separate from the location. Food would get a 2 star and staff would be 4 star. I ordered an omelette with egg whites and it was huge. Even though the omelette was large it had little of the goodies in it and lacked any flavor. We had high hopes going in but soon began to feel like we made a poor choice. My husband ordered a Blue Moon beer. When it came it was flat and warm. When we checked out we noticed the display of available beers had an empty space where the Blue Moon should have been. I ordered a Texas Burger. It was flavorless. The guacamole had zero flavor and was clearly not homemade. The French onion soup was served without Swiss cheese. When I mentioned that they didn't have the cheese on it, she took it back and brought another with cheese. It was tasty but not stellar. Good breakfast spot and dinner spot. We have two kids and they are always so nice to us. For breakfast I reccomend the skirt steak and eggs. I don't know what they do to the steak but it is always delicious. I usually get it rare and it is perfectly cooked all the time. Their omelets are to die for. Always made with fresh ingredients. Special instructions ?? No problem. They are happy to make them how ever you want Monday and Tuesdays kids eat for free. Only complaint is side veggies are not fresh seem to be canned. The cream of chicken and rice soup tastes very good. The bread is fresh and tasty. The spinach artichoke came out. Warm, fresh and scrumptious. The chips were not as fresh as the bread but still good. The meals came out. The country fried steak (pictured) looks great and the beef kabobs smell absolutely delicious. The kabobs tastes great and came out hot. Unfortunately, the country fried steak, potatoes and vegetables were luke warm at best. Too bad that it came out this way. The service is wonderful. We enjoy this place very much. one of our go to restaurants in Ottawa. Tonight both hubby and I had pasta. Hubby had shrimp scampi ravioli. They were yummy. I had them on our last visit. I had the black and blue pasta. Cajun Alfredo spicy but not too spicy with 2 perfectly moist and juicy chicken cutlets. pasta was perfectly cooked. a delightful pasta dinner. Reasonably priced 35.00 with tax. This pasta was better than the well known chain restaurant further west. Sunfield is not perfect. I have had a couple 2 and 3 star meals. They did have a bar, which is always nice. The staff was comley and attentive. Like I said being able to order breakfast made my trip to this point. The coffee was only average, but the service was good. They had a biscuit and gravy omelette which sounded delicious. The gravy was light and creamy. It was a bit light on flavor but it was 6 pm so this was whipped up fast and not letting to sausage soak in. Overall it was pretty tasty. Cost $53.00 for a steak wrap, chicken parmigiana, and 2 pork chops. First of all the cost in general was absolutely ridiculous they don't put any prices for their specials on their little challenge board and $19 for a couple of pork chops that were dry and tough is a joke. Took almost 35 to 40 minutes to even get our food, and salad had nothing on it but salad and a few tomatoes that had no taste.I guess nobody in restaurants knows how to make a salad anymore because cheese and some other vegetables would be nice, this is not the only place that doesn't know how to make a salad. Waitress service was great that's why I gave her a good tip but there was a constant cold air blowing on me while I was sitting at the table and I was just about freezing. They need to update their windows in their restaurant they're probably making several hundreds of thousands of dollars a year I think they can spend some money on upkeep. I was overall very disappointed, and I think I'm pretty much banning this restaurant and most of the restaurants that want to raise their prices to absolutely ridiculous levels. Beware, because people are not going to continue to pay these prices at Sunfields or anywhere else, we are sick and tired of you gouging us and ripping us off.
