Fell in love with Ryan's Eatery when we walked in the door. The decor is warm and welcoming, with touches charm from the vintage ceilings to the woodwork through the restaurant. The tram that greeted us were cordial and made us feel right at home. We ordered sweet Vidalia onion rings and stuffed fried mushrooms for our appetizers; they are both very good. For our meals, we had pork chops, pecan glazed salmon, and sea bass. I'm already looking forward to going back to experience more of their menu and specials. read more

We have been here MANY times ! The last two times it is of my thoughts that the food and the service have gone downhill . Last night ( 7-25 they were very busy and we sat at the bar . When a table became open they seated us . Before that the ladies were busy talking to guest at the bar who had a carry out order . We had not gotten any service or silverware . We ordered onion rings which were wonderful . When I asked for more ranch dressing I got horseradish instead . The pork tenderloin was not what is shown in their pictures and was so tough I could not eat it . My wife had gotten the shrimp picotta and the portion size was much smaller than usual , both pasta and the shrimp . The time before I had ordered the pork chops again overcooked and very tough . I am sorry , but we won't be back . Fifty dollars for a small meal and one that couldn't be eaten . read more

We just had lunch at this cozy little restaurant. The interior is very nicely done and very welcoming. Yes, it is a small place, but it is laid out very well. The menu for lunch had a very good selection of dishes, and our waitress explained the daily lunch special as soon as she came by our table. I opted for an appetizer: Bacon Jam & Chicken Flatbread. My companion had the special: 1/2 BLT, salad & cream of mushroom soup. Our food came out promptly, and nicely presented. The soup was outstanding. The bacon jam ..,ditto. Every bit was fresh and very, very good. Prices are reasonable, and the wait staff is personable and professional. Definitely a great little place to eat!! read more

EXCELLENT!!! We were traveling through the area looking for a bite to eat in Marseilles and saw that Ryan's Eatery had such high reviews so we decided to give it a shot. Wow, everything we ate was incredible and we seriously feasted. Service was great, food was incredible, and the restaurant had a nice, old-timey feel, small and quaint but lovely. Please note that they are BYOB and dinner starts at 4pm except Sundays. Honestly the best meal I've in long time and so surprised to find it in this part of town. 10/10 recommend. I enjoyed eating at Ryan's Eatery as a nice little local joint in Marseilles. Our server was very nice, and food was done in good timing. Prices are fine. We enjoyed their French onion soup with a lot of flavor and topped with melted cheese (though avoid this if you have any salt restrictions). Their burgers were cooked well done but I should've asked if there are options. I'd be interested next Time to try their dirty fries or bacon jam flatbread. The specials look very good as well. Another wonderful meal at Ryan's. We both had the prime rib special. It came with green beans, garlic mashed potatoes. I had the mushroom soup and my husband had the French onion. Both were delicious . We shared a piece of spice cake. Tasted like carrot cake without carrots Our server was Julia. She has very attentive. We stopped in for lunch on our way from Indy to the quad cities. Ryan's is in a quiet little town in Marseille. Service was friendly and prompt, our sandwiches were outstanding. Group or four. We had chicken piccata, chicken parm, Cajun sea bass, and boneless pork chops. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and said they'd order it again. Tried Ryan's Eatery for first times last time. Reservations for 7 only so we waited 30 minutes for table which was fine for us. Server very polite and immediately got us water and opener for our wine. No alcohol served so it was BYOB. We put in our order for two appetizers. Before appetizers arrived she took our dinner order. Salads arrived before appetizers. Appetizers arrived without small plates. This was poor timing on servers part. Both appetizers good. There was a LONG wait for entrees. 45 minutes to an hour. Food was good. I saw a lot of carry outs. I'm wondering if this didn't slow down the kitchen. I hope with time Ryan's smooths out some of the kinks. We went there for the first-time last week. The place was packed the staff was very organized and got us a table as soon as they could. The french onion soup was great. I had the salmon, and my wife had the shrimp in vodka sauce both meals where very tasty and large portions. Finally, Marseille's has a great restaurant that has good food and fair priced. Found this little place as we were passing through Illinois and thought the food pics looked good, IT WAS FANTASTIC! When you drive u, it doesn't look like much, but when you walk in it has a very comfortable feel. From the second we met our server to the end of our meal, I have zero complaints. Wait staff was great, answered all our questions and were spot on. First, the mozzarella sticks are huge (stick of butter size) and very tasty. I am on a search to find the best tenderloin in the Midwest, this is by far the best that I've had. Crispy, juicy, perfectly cooked on a good bun. We also got the chicken piccata with angel hair pasta, delicious and plentiful (I helped finish it) We chatted with the staff and the owner/chef about the cool looking-small town and how delicious the food was.
