My father is ill and his glasses were misplaced at the hospital. Both of these angels helped me find a pair for him ( without being able to see him or me as we are both very compromised during this pandemic). They both had so much patience and understanding for our situation. This is what the world needs more of...they are an asset to Illori and to our world. During a difficult time of life these two beautiful humans made a huge difference to our lives. I am forever grateful for them.

I've traveled throughout the boroughs of NY to multiple Eye wear places to find the perfect fit prescription glasses. I entered the store with joy and high hopes of finally getting my new glasses. I had an idea of what I wanted so I began browsing the Chanel frames. Immediately I felt uncomfortable to ask them questions because I felt unwelcomed, by judgmental stares. That moment I felt like I was in a place where I didn't belong. Still I am determined to get my glasses. With little to no help from either employees,I finally found my perfect frame ! I approached the store manager saying I would like to purchase this pair. As I had inquires about my item she began demeaning me as if I wasn't a buying customer. It was then when I realized this store wasn't worth my money. I took the description of the frames so I can go purchase them elsewhere. I am very disappointed in the customer service I received at such an " upscale " store. I traveled from Queens to Manhasset only to get disrespectfully criticized and judged. I will never shop there again and I will recommend people not to go here.

My wife thought the frame was too small and we're not appealing. I went back to the store a few days ago for an adjustment. During the adjustment the salesperson asked me where I purchased the glasses. I told her at their store. She said, they don't fit you properly. Thirty minutes later I walked out with my ticket to pick up my new glasses in two days. Since then my puppy has tried to make several pairs of my glasses lunch and I had cataract surgery twice. Again the staff could not be more helpful to go out of their way to help me. A great well run consumer centric store! Thank you.

My eyeglasses were purchased less than 2 years ago. I was asked by the salesperson how often I wore my eyeglasses outdoors and today, I was told same by (I believe) the owner/manager. I did purchase a set of new glasses and the lenses alone are close to $1,000, same what I had paid for my earlier set. I am over 65 years old and have been wearing eyeglasses since my childhood. This was the first time I was asked if I wore my glasses everyday and outdoors! For a long term client, pearl vision should have been more accommodative since I believe the lenses were defective. At least they should have offered a discount for the second pair which I wanted to purchase today which they declined. Customer satisfaction should not be taken for granted. Takes years to build and less than two interactions to lose a client.

I asked a lady with a scanner if she could check the price of a GUESS bag I was planning to purchase. She looked me up and down, rolled her eyes, and told me she "doesn't work in that department"... then continued scanning bags. I said, "Okay, then get me your manager." Suddenly her whole attitude changed: "How can I help you?" At that point I said, "You know what? I'm not spending my money here." Told my sister, "Let's keep it moving." And we left that store. It just does not exist, absolutely ghetto, and there's no help from anywhere or anyone, clothes are all over the floor. everything is at a disarray. I am absolutely floored how this place even stays open. They have nothing worthwhile purchasing in this store. They carry the worst brand names. The fashion is at least 10 years old and the HomeGoods area and the basement is embarrassing. I think the only good part of this Macy's is the Starbucks and this place is even a mess.

That is my story with Dr. Philip Meltzer of Spectacles in Great Neck, NY. You might think this is an exaggeration on my part. Read on and judge for yourself. I think you will find yourself agreeing with me. I was not a customer of Dr. Meltzer when I called him. Originally I called him looking for an eyeglass frame that I already owned that cost me $700 when I bought it 6 months ago. I love the frame. Best looking frame I ever purchased. Unfortunately, while pulling a sweatshirt over my head, it got damaged. I returned to the vendor in Manhattan who I bought the frames from and he lead me to believe (against my gut instinct) that the frame was beyond repair and I needed to purchase a new frame even though it is no longer available in the color that I purchased it in. IF I was going to go that route I certainly was not going to buy another frame from a vendor who was highly belligerent to me. Seeking help from another source I used the company's website to locate another vendor of these French frames. I found Spectacles listed as a premium partner and decided I had nothing to lose by trying to see if another vendor carried my frames in any color. At this point I was literally trying to savage my lenses which cost appropriately $2,000. So in essence I was trying to save myself $2,700 that I spent approximately 6 months ago. I spoke with Dr. Meltzer on the phone after I had returned from the dropping off my frames in Manhattan at the original vendor. I bought the frames from him and had my prescription for my lenses filled by a professional I have known for around 25 years. An hour after dropping off my eyeglasses I received a distressing call from the Manhattan vendor basically telling me the only solution was for me to purchase another frame from him for an additional $700 and that I would have to do it at my own risk and that he could not promise that he would not damage my prescription lenses in the process of trying to remove them from the frame. That was totally out of the question. Luckily despite the heavy feeling in my stomach, I went to see Dr. Meltzer today and after examining the frame briefly he began to work on it and literally in less than 2 minutes fixed my beloved frame and saved me $2,700. He then apologized that it took so long. He also reused to accept any payment for his work. I think that this story tells you the kind of person and professional that Dr. Meltzer is. I for one can tell you that when I am in the market for another pair of frames I know exactly where I will be heading. Thank you Dr. Meltzer for being the special kind of person you are and being a true professional. I could not be more thankful for your much needed help.

As a regular patron…read moreof the Americana, Manhasset, I made the mistake of choosing Morgenthal Frederics "MF", one of the boutiques at the shopping center, to make the lenses for my vintage Cartier sunglasses. After waiting several weeks for my sunglasses to be ready, I picked them up. When I first saw the completed frames I was unsure if I liked the lenses that "MF" made for them. Once home I realized that I detested the lens color and and degree of tint. So, earlier today, four days after I picked up my frames, I sent my husband to the boutique to see what can be done regarding my dissatisfaction with the finished product. After my husband explained all of the reasons for my dissatisfaction, the sales representative, a dark haired woman wearing black eyeglass frames, basically said "screw you," albeit in a very polite, Manhasset, way. Specifically, it was explained that if I wasn't happy, my only recourse was to start from scratch and pay the full price for another pair of lenses. That, although I wasn't happy with my purchase, MF would do nothing except offer a slight discount on the next pair of lenses. Is this what we pay a premium price, for a premium service for? I think not!!!
