I asked since when that was the policy, because I know that isn't true, and she claimed it was "company policy." I asked her to call the manager, and she said he was out at dinner with his family. She then called someone else, but that person was no help either. Instead of answering my questions or explaining the policy, they couldn't handle being questioned and the guy on the phone actually said to call security. I've purchased several pairs of sunglasses from this store in the past, but I will not be spending another dime here. I walked around the corner to Cohen's, and they adjusted my glasses with no questions asked. That's what real customer service looks like.

I'm in a Sunglass Hut, not a Walmart, but by no means an expensive store. I felt it was an unnecessary comment, judgy in fact. We were on a road trip all day and we're dressed comfortably. It shouldn't matter what we wear, our wealth isn't defined by our dress. This mall isn't high-end so maybe they have problems with theft, but if my son broke the pair it wouldn't be an isssue for us to buy it. I might've bought a new pair but the comment cost the store a larger sale/additional item sold.

It is one of those rare, sprawling ecosystem-level malls where you can easily lose an entire day to the pavement and never once feel the itch of boredom. The structural face-lifts have been a massive win, transforming the space into a genuinely premium destination. They have a powerhouse gauntlet of anchor stores--Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus--flanked by a relentless selection of clothing boutiques and a Lego store that remains a pure, nostalgic trip. The food court is the gold standard in variety, standing as one of the best executions of the concept you'll find anywhere. But the real evolution hits in the summer, when the al fresco dining areas open up, offering an outdoor oasis amid the retail hustle. It gets crowded--of course it does--but with plenty of parking to absorb the madness, it remains an absolute favorite. Selection & Shopping (5/5): An elite tier of retail which runs seamlessly from accessible mid-range staples to high-end luxury. The movie theater upgrade is spectacular, a complete night-and-day transformation from what it used to be. Food & Dining for a mall (4.5/5): A massive cut above standard mall fare. The sheer volume of food options is impressive, and the outdoor al fresco spaces give it a vibrant, lively energy during the warmer months. Layout & Convenience (4.25/5): The modern renovations have aged beautifully, keeping the massive footprint easy on the eyes. When his shop relocated from Howard Beach, there was no doubt that we'd follow to his new location! His customer service is exceptional and if there's any dissatisfaction, he does his utmost to make the customer happy. We've probably ordered over 10 pairs of glasses through Mark and his team over the last 15 years. The turn around time is exceptional - I don't think we've ever waited more than a few days for our new glasses. He has also fixed a few pairs for us, even if they were not purchased there or if we purchased them years ago. AND he has also been known to hand deliver them in a pinch - truly the best. If you need optical services, stylish daily frames or sunnies, or optical advice from the best in the business, definitely stop by. I would suggest calling Mark before stopping by because Covid has everything out of sync - but with the minuscule chance that you miss him, he always returns your call promptly :)

That is my story with Dr. Philip Meltzer of Spectacles in Great Neck, NY. You might think this is an exaggeration on my part. Read on and judge for yourself. I think you will find yourself agreeing with me. I was not a customer of Dr. Meltzer when I called him. Originally I called him looking for an eyeglass frame that I already owned that cost me $700 when I bought it 6 months ago. I love the frame. Best looking frame I ever purchased. Unfortunately, while pulling a sweatshirt over my head, it got damaged. I returned to the vendor in Manhattan who I bought the frames from and he lead me to believe (against my gut instinct) that the frame was beyond repair and I needed to purchase a new frame even though it is no longer available in the color that I purchased it in. IF I was going to go that route I certainly was not going to buy another frame from a vendor who was highly belligerent to me. Seeking help from another source I used the company's website to locate another vendor of these French frames. I found Spectacles listed as a premium partner and decided I had nothing to lose by trying to see if another vendor carried my frames in any color. At this point I was literally trying to savage my lenses which cost appropriately $2,000. So in essence I was trying to save myself $2,700 that I spent approximately 6 months ago. I spoke with Dr. Meltzer on the phone after I had returned from the dropping off my frames in Manhattan at the original vendor. I bought the frames from him and had my prescription for my lenses filled by a professional I have known for around 25 years. An hour after dropping off my eyeglasses I received a distressing call from the Manhattan vendor basically telling me the only solution was for me to purchase another frame from him for an additional $700 and that I would have to do it at my own risk and that he could not promise that he would not damage my prescription lenses in the process of trying to remove them from the frame. That was totally out of the question. Luckily despite the heavy feeling in my stomach, I went to see Dr. Meltzer today and after examining the frame briefly he began to work on it and literally in less than 2 minutes fixed my beloved frame and saved me $2,700. He then apologized that it took so long. He also reused to accept any payment for his work. I think that this story tells you the kind of person and professional that Dr. Meltzer is. I for one can tell you that when I am in the market for another pair of frames I know exactly where I will be heading. Thank you Dr. Meltzer for being the special kind of person you are and being a true professional. I could not be more thankful for your much needed help.

Had a bad experience in the Sunglasses Hut department of the Macy's store. My wife ordered…read moresunglasses via Macy's online, however when she received the Burberry Sunglasses, they came with a small scratch. Burberry Sunglasses are expensive and as such, we shouldn't have to open the box to a scratched pair of expensive sunglasses. We entered this location and spoke to a person at the Sunglass section named Oguhzan. Mr. Ohuhzan was extremely unprofessional. The moment that my wife stated she wanted to make a return, he became rude, discourteous, and doubtful that we received the glasses this way. Once we pulled out the box it was delivered in, he became more compliant however began making snarky comments like "you have to contact Macy's to ensure you receive a credit". Now, why would we have to contact Macy's to ensure we are going to receive a credit when the sunglasses were sent this way? Was he going to put that they were returned damaged and cause a problem with the return? It was as if he completed doubted the reason for the return. That makes the customer feel horrible and anyone that's experienced that feeling, knows what I'm talking about. My wife and I (two well dressed adults in our 30s) were made to feel as if we were trying to scam the return, as if we had scratched the glasses and then tried to be sneaky and return them. Upon complaining with the manager, we observed him (from a distance) shrugging his shoulders and laughing about the entire thing, as if the way he acted was a joke. We felt that this was not the way a customer should be treated, especially considering we were going to make additional purchases from him after the exchange. The manager "Fran" was also not helpful as she came back to us shrudly stating that there are two sides to a story suggesting that we may not be explaining the story with 100 percent accuracy. Fran further stated that "she was not standing there so she doesn't know what happen". In customer service and especially in the capacity of a manager, this was not consistent with "the customer is always right" and problem solving our complaint. There are numerous places to shop, numerous Macy's out there. We will absolutely not be back to this location. It's a real shame we had to go through this. We left the store and completed our return, exchange, and additional purchases without any issue at a different Macy's Sunglass Hut location,
