Nobody was wearing a mask the first time I showed up. I waited at the back door and waited for them to put it on. Little to no help, seemed to busy talking with each other about different things. Three weeks have gone by saying they will restock next Friday. I call back and they send me to the Hollywood Store instead, saying they havnt restocked but MAYBE they did. read more

Good place Friendly staff But they don't let you in even with Mask. I'm just starting my first grow so I wanted to see what they have on shelves to avoid ordering from amazon and maybe possibly get an advice but they only talk to you through phone and you have to call them couple times to se what they have. If only they had a list of inventory on website but their website doesn't even work. I'm leaving 4 stars because I understand that safety during this time is important. But I feel like leaving 3 stars because all other places seem to have no problem with you entering. read more

I began my growing journey about a year ago, at which time I went out in search of a local grow shop. I was super lucky to find Sunland Hydro. Not only are they the closest shop to where I live, they are also extremely helpful and kind. It can be a bit intimidating getting into this and the folks at sunland make it super easy and comfortable to ask questions. They have great advice and i never feel like i'm being sold to. Prices are really great as well, and they often check to see if they are able to go below their already very low sticker prices (and have come through with that on multiple occasions.) Great people. Great prices. Cant beat it. Also, this $$$$ is bs. I would vote for $ if i could figure out how. For real. read more

Awesome place, great service and well-versed staff! I always find what I'm looking for and if it's not there, the staff is always quick to place an order and call me when it's available. They treat every customer like a part of the family, which is a great plus! Very very dog friendly, something you wouldn't expect but it's always nice to know I can take my dog on my hydro errands. The worst Hydro store I ever had the displeasure of wasting my time in. Marked up products, guys who work there know NOTHING about their products at all, every time they have to go to the computer and look it up. These guys opened up in 2008 taking advantage of the Gold rush and it completely shows. If you call on the phone they will not help you, and they frustrated cause they really know nothing and tell you to just come on in. Google Hydroponic stores near your area and find ANY OTHER place and avoid this place AT ALL COSTS read more

The previous negative posts on here must be other hydro shop owners trying to dissuade business to sunland hydro, because this really is a great shop. I've never asked about a product and not gotten to know exactly what it does, I've never called and been rushed off the phone. I've literally spent hours in this store and the one located in sunland simply asking about possible setups and prices and equipment and tools and etc. etc. etc. Always enjoyable! I never go to other hydro shops, if they don't have a product you need, 5/5 times they ordered it for me and had it the next business day, really helpful people, don't listen to the negative reviews, go try them for yourself, seriously. read more

this is an ok enough store if you just need to pick up a few supplies now and then. the sales people though... they were friendly and helpful, offering advice and products as if they knew what they were talking about. Turns out, they don't. The esheg that runs the place is more than happy to sell you tons of stuff you don"t need and that will actually be detrimental. Go here only if you already know what you're doing, and don't be swayed by sales persuasion. We needlessly wasted hundreds of dollars thanx to their baseless advice. as for all the "GOOD" reviews, i have no doubt they're writing these themselves or having friends post them. What's the deal here? Reviews either 1 or 5? Most of the people giving a 5 have only 1 review -seems like a giveaway sign of fake. The guy that gave 1 star seemed a bit over blown. Don't think they've been there more than a year at least not as the front business. I live in the neighborhood and have seen it as a 99 cents type store, grocery store and then empty for a long period. The guys are relative newbies and not that knowledgable. When I went in they didn't have calcium carbonate, didn't even know what it was or what it was used for. They didn't have Glomus mosseae and didn't know how that worked either. However, they admitted they didn't know and seemed like they might actually look it up. They didn't try to push other stuff on me -maybe because they realized I knew something about this stuff than they didn't. There's always a learning curve in a new business so they should be cut some slack. If they don't know this stuff in a year or 2 then.... Prices ok. 2 stars because I'd rather go to one place to get every thing. As for being sold stuff you don't need, ever hear buyer beware? A little self education puts an advantage in your court . Not so great. I went here to buy some pesticide for some shrubs in my yard that were being eaten by some insect. I took a sample of the plant with me. The employees didn't know what the shrub was or what to recommend. This was not an exotic plant. I asked to leave the sample for the owner and to have them call me to let me know what I could purchase. Never heard back from anyone. Waste of time. read more

Any bad review MUST have just been a bad day. These guys are very friendly, treated me as a VALUED customer and gave me the personal time necessary to get what I needed. Also did not try to tell me that I needed things I actually didn't. To the negative post previous, they had to go to the computer to look for pricing, not info......but that happens everywhere. Very pleased with this place, also saved about $300 from what they were trying to charge at BGH. read more

i like this place a lot. much better for me than atwater or hollywood. i also dont know what that other guy is talking about. they gave me great tips on my vegetable garden issues of PM as well as seed germination. i didn't feel pressured to buy or like i was keeping him from anything else. i have also called a few times with questions and had very positive experience. read more
