Grevillea superb

I am growing into a grevillea junkie. What's not to like about a drought tolerant plant with amazing flowers that shuns fertilizer? I have two in pots on my patio. I've been looking to add a Grevillea Moonlight for a couple years but I had not been able to find one locally. That is until Plant-Material listed some. I ordered on line for pickup. Pricing was in range of my other two purchases. I drove out from Santa Monica to Silver Lake and found a charming little nursery hidden between homes. They have some extraordinary plants -- rare, beautiful and interesting - it was a treat checking them out. Lindsay was welcoming, he knew my order immediately and it had been set aside in preparation for pick up. He entertained my endless questions about all the different plants and their origins. The little shrub I anticipated collecting is a nice 6' healthy juvenile tree! I was super impressed by the plant size. All in all a great experience and I will definitely check them out for future purchases. What a great resource for drought planting. If you like unusual native and drought tolerant plants I highly recommend Plant-Material. As a bonus the inventory is online at their website and that makes purchasing very easy!

Good quality plants(although not a big variety), along with nice cheap pots. Usually very quiet- gives you lots of space and peace to shop!

The selection is fantastic- I went in looking specifically for aquarium friendly plants and left with such an awesome selection! And I feel like it was all reasonably priced too! Bianca immediately welcomed me in and was so approachable- I'm new to the plant world and she was WONDERFUL! Bianca and Matt were incredibly helpful, and Matt especially impressed me with his plant knowledge. He really knew his stuff and made the whole experience even better! Parking can be a little tricky, but I found street parking right out front without too much hassle. Totally worth it. Highly recommend!

I was impressed by the size of the store, with both an indoor and outdoor section filled plants, planting supplies, and other types of home decor. Staff members were friendly and patient whenever I had questions or needed assistance, and they were very attentive. Given the huge layout it could take some time to find a free employee, but their workers made sure I knew about the various options that could meet my search criteria. I was pleased with the pots that I found and thought the prices were comparative to what I saw at Sunset Nursery. I would definitely recommend checking out this shop!

Chris was extremely kind, was welcoming in his approach and also very helpful in getting everything to my car. Thank you Chris! This nursery hands down has become my favorite one in LA -- this is how you do a plant experience. Buy your plants here, you and your wallet will be glad you did!

"Oh, Mickey…read more.. You're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!" Mickey Hargitay Plants is the coolest little big plant store, plant nursery, garden center and serene landscaping places I've ever seen. From the pure vibrant vibes to the incredible staff that make this gem thrive. Tucked away in Hollywood on the cusp of West Hollywood off of Sycamore Ave and Fountain Avenue, just a small skip east from La Brea Avenue. They're open from 9 AM until 5:30 PM all 7 days of the week. And carry plants, planters, gardening essentials and wonderoud things of all shapes and sizes. I've been passing by frequently for nearly two months on my way to work usually before they're open or after they're closed on as I make my way home and finally got to stop in and explore. That wave of calm, relaxation and vibrance that being around nature and all it's planty goodness lives here in abundance. Explore in person, place orders for pick up or even delivery. Mickey Hargitay has a rich history to match it's ambiance since it's birth in 1980, starting off with succulents, cacti and their own macrame designs Voted one of the best places to buy plants in 2015. Featured in the L.A. Times in 2016. Featured in Voyage LA in 2021. Not to mention a great spotlight in 2025. Founded and owned by Mickey Hartigay Jr. a fellow Sag and plant lover like myself. He and every single person here is a gem, I picked up on nothing but good energy even after the end of a long day and rainy weekend everyone here does their best to bring a slice of joy to each person. Ringing up my assortment right as they were closing they still didn't miss a beat. Hoping to stop in a lot more (scheduling pending) and get to know everyone, find more plants for the house as well as a new plant for my boyfriends place of even bring him in to explore. Pup friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. Recently started following their Insta and I'm "obsessulated!" Easy parking in the neighborhood, street parking primarily or an easy stroll in closeby, riding the metro or parked off La Brea. Four new very healthy plants in various sizes for under $20...
