Our technician, Wes, was very professional, on time and easy to talk to. He came out and checked the unit (we needed a different fuse) and turned the unit on and got it running. I was very happy with the service from the ladies in the office to Wes our technician. Just a heads up, they have a monthly maintenance plan ($12.95 a month) that they will try and sell you. It includes an annual check of your A/C unit and of your heater. Any additional work or service calls are then 20% off. We have made multiple phone calls over the years needing assistance with system issues and were constantly told someone would call us back. Those calls rarely happened, to the point that my husband drove 40 miles to their office just to speak to someone in person - with no resolution. Because SIG solar failed to provide support, WE had to contact the inverter manufacturer, twice in the past few years to get the system functioning, something the installer should have handled. When we just recently realized that we needed our roof replaced, SIG solar charged us $8000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels. We had to pay it because we did not want to do anything to jeopardize our warranty, effectively forcing us into this expense. This company appears focused on sales, not long-term service. For a major investment like solar, this level of non-responsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Experiences like this are why homeowners rely on consumer protection and contractor oversight agencies.

While pricing was important, what really set SunMade apart was that they hold both solar and roofing licenses. This gave me additional confidence because I previously had a bad experience with another solar company that damaged my roof, failed to fix the problem, and later went out of business, leaving me to pay for the repairs myself. Our sales representative, Jon Bernal, was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. There was one item that the system designer later clarified, and although it wasn't a major issue, Jon personally reached out to notify me of the changes. That level of integrity and accountability meant a lot to me and demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his customers. The installation crew was professional, arrived on time, kept the work area clean, and communicated well throughout the process. After installation, I noticed a section of concrete that had become uneven due to settling. I contacted SunMade, and they returned within days to correct the issue and followed up to ensure everything was satisfactory. That kind of customer service is becoming increasingly rare. Our first meeting with Jon was on March 28, we signed on March 30, the system was installed on April 27, the meter collar was installed on May 13, and we received Permission to Operate about a week later. ProjectSolar will do absolutely nothing. Installation: The company ProjectSolar subcontracted for my install is incompetent. They butchered my siding making a conduit entry to the main service panel, used an indoor rated enclosure for the outdoor critical loads panel, installed consumption monitoring CTs incorrectly, and omitted circuits from critical loads that I requested be backed up. Almost TWO YEARS later, some of these items still haven't been addressed. Maintenance: When a PCB on my Enphase gateway stopped working, I asked ProjectSolar to schedule a site visit to install a replacement unit. Weeks later they still hadn't made any effort to schedule a visit. At some point I gave up and did it myself with help from Enphase.
