We felt super welcome and cared for :) The ambiance is great too. Lots of natural sunlight coming in, wooden tables, books, and skincare products that add to the vibe. A smoothie, healthy drinks and bowls place that has counter service and you sit outside. There was a line, but that moved quickly. There is plenty of outdoor seating. We only had the bowls, which were priced in-line with everything else in the neighborhood (though we didn't try the Chipotle, which would be a good baseline to see if your being overcharged). Anyway, the greek yogurt bowl with fruit was good/fresh. The other bowls were reported to be good also .... But ... there is just too much food in one bowl. No one needs a small trashcan sized bowl of yogurt that has 900+ calories. IMO, charge less and use smaller cups and have less food waste. No one really takes these home and eats them later, because 1 min after you start eating it, the food in the bowl turns into a soupy mess. I usually get the Buddha bowl but this time I opted for the Hawaiian bowl. The fruit is super fresh and I loved the coconut shavings on top. Stopped by this sunlife location for a smoothie & went with "Mystic" based on the cashier's suggestion. I asked about the level of sweetness & he said it's not too sweet. I waited about 15 mins which was less than ideal given that I thought this would be "quick". What made the anticipation worse is the disappointment I faced when I took my first sip of the drink. The drink 1/5 It looked pretty but the taste... just no. The drink was soooo sweet (unlike what the cashier had told me). The worst part is that all I could taste was banana and vanilla protein powder. It didn't taste like anything else at all. I'm not kidding when I say I had to take a sip of water every time I took a sip from this drink. I was really hungry & had no other choice since I was driving back to my job but to drink this smoothie to avoid getting a headache. Price 1/5 What a waste of $19!!! I could've had a whole meal for breakfast with this much money. At least erewhon smoothies taste good & unique for the money you pay. Ambiance It has a cute indoor space & lots of seating outside. Really disappointed with my visit to the Malibu SunLife on Heathercliff. I ordered the Brazilian Bowl and it was completely melted when I got it -- no wait time, just handed to me as liquid. There was barely any açaí, maybe 1/8 of the bowl was full, and the rest was just granola. For $18.50, I basically paid for granola soup. I tried freezing it, but it turned into mushy oatmeal. I've had this bowl before and it was great, but this was unacceptable. I left a review and am requesting a full refund. Don't waste your money. Though there were a lot of people in the shop, and there was a line to order, the workers were fast and it was no time at all before I was at the front of the line putting in my order. The EVERGY SHOT I ordered was great and seemed to work. It might be placebo effect only, but the cleanse I got after felt great :) It's not cheap. read more

The smoothie bowls here are really good. They do have. Good variety of options. My smoothie bowl that I tried was a more tropical and orange tasting. This is rather unique since most smoothie bowls I try have banana as a strong flavor. I did enjoy the toppings. The fruit was very fresh and the granola was tasty. I am not so sure it is worth the $20 it basically costs though. The location is in a shopping center which is nice to have easy parking. There are some tables outside which is nice to sit at. It's very small inside with a long walkway to order and only one picnic table style seat. The view in the back is amazing of the Santa Monica mountains. It's in a plaza area with many other businesses. A lot of seating outside and it was a beautiful day like it usually is in this area. Service was good. I could tell this was in an upscale area by the energy of the people around. The cashier tried to explain to me on a couple smoothies I asked about but just described them as "different" with no real explanation. And then on top of that, I was missing a drink and when I asked about it she said she would make me a new one. Idk what happened to the old one? As 5-10 minutes go by, I never heard my order get called once again so I went to go check up on the drink and the same numb skull employee that was supposed to make my new drink was nowhere to be found. I had to go ask another employee about it just to find out it's been sitting in the blender the whole time. So you mess my order up not once, not twice, but three times.
