OK everyone, here is an update on the installation!....IT IS FINALLY COLD IN MY HOME!!!! Even the hottest room in my house is cool. That has never happened. Even in the winter, it has always been warmer in the TV room than the rest of my house. But not anymore!!!! I SINCERELY hope you all take the time to read this and that it influences your decision to go with Sunlight. My journey began months ago. I had several estimates prepared and in the process of doing so I realized that spray foam does work. Across the board, as described. The cost is relative to sq.ft so expect to pay around the same with any company. The issue with choosing a company based on ratings only isn't going to help you much in choosing the most qualified company. There is so much more that goes into this than simply a "chuck with a truck" spraying and praying. Unless you are given an opportunity to learn about spray foam, how do you even know it's correctly installed? How do you know you're getting the exact same application as is marketed? And what about cleanup? How do you know your spray foam even made a difference until the summer? Do you expect to have a detailed company report upon job completion to see exactly how much air you were leaking, or how often your AC cycles before and after?? Seems complicated, right? WRONG!!! Ira and Sunlight is the only company i found that performs such service(s). Ira is the most communicative contractor I have ever worked with. His crew is not only the most decorated and licensed company I found (check out the website, sunlight has more licensing than the DMV) but the crew...hands down the most organized and diligent group of professionals in this market. I can't imagine anyone has more certification and experience than Cory (he was the "General Patton" of the job and worked closely with his crew to ensure every detail went noticed) and when it came to the end, Cory did a walk through with me. I didn't even realize how thorough the cleanup was until he left. And then, I got my "blower door" report which numerically PROVED that you had a significant change in your attic, not just a subjective opinion that "you will notice a difference when it's hot" thus leaving you wondering. Bottom line: I believe that the CUSTOMER SERVICE and CARE concerning the quality of life for the customer and the families living in the home inspires Sunlight to be the BEST. Sunlight is also the only company I found that works with very significant commercial installations which leave NO room for mistakes and excuses...big contracts...but no job is too small. The degree of qualification and service was extended to me all the same. Thank you Ira! Thank you Cory and crew!! And thank you Derrick for doing the estimate with me, and not just taking a measurement and leaving like the other 5 companies did...one company didn't even go into the attic. Derrick did WAY more than measure. He evaluated, noted, and explained exactly what/how would happen before and after the foaming. He even pointed out other issues in my attic, just so I would be aware, and as a courtesy. So, in closing, if you really want to know what's going on with your attic and how spray foam will change the quality of your life, this should be a no-brainer folks!!! I am so glad I spent the money. It's been 1 day since sunlight completed the work and I'm literally CHILLY in the hottest room of my house...the AC hasn't run in hours. Worth noting is that Sunlight was VERY competitive with the pricing as well. I am excited for a cool summer!!!! ALSO, do NOT be concerned about an odor....the "odor" smelled like fresh latex paint for 24 hours, I barely noticed it at all. I dont write very many reviews. So when I do they are either due to horrible or excellent customer service or product quality. I am very pleased to say that with Sunlight Contractors it is the later! Working with Sunlight Contractors has been THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! That statement is not an exaggeration in the slightest. From Start to finish they followed through on everything they said that they would do, their communication was excellent. The same day that I received the quote I also received an email with their proof of insurance, and a very thorough explanation of the material that they use. I felt much more informed about what I was purchasing and who I was purchasing it from. Lets talk about the extra mile - About a 5 months after the spray foam was installed in my house. I had a plumbing issue that flooded my master bedroom (not at all related to the spray foam insulation). I called Ira at Sunlight Contractors to see if any of the work that I needed done could be done through Sunlight Contractors because of how excellent their service was with the spray foam. Ira told me that he currently didn't hold the specific Licenses to conduct the work I needed. But he did send two of his guys over to my house that same day to help me move furniture that would have been damaged if they stayed where they were. Not only did Ira send his guys to help me out of the jam with the flooded Bedroom. Today (January 16th, 2016) he sent his guys (Derrick, and Braiden) to my house and did a leak test on my home to see if there was anyway to improve my energy efficiency more than he already had. I didnt even realize how bad a shape the weather stripping was around my doors and windows. Derrick and Braiden fixed it all up for me and even sealed up some leaks in my AC system that I was unaware were present! With all the work they did they were able to reduce the air infiltration into my home 405 CFM! Which is huge! I cant wait to see what that will do to our heating and cooling costs! I write this review to endorse Sunlight Contractors strongly and without qualification. Sunlight applied foam insulation underneath and in the attic of a small house I own. I ultimately chose Sunlight without serious consideration of other, possibly cheaper services. I knew enough about foam insulation to know what I wanted. Beyond that, Sunlight's professionalism, credentials and strong customer reviews were all I needed to finalize my decision. Obviously, at some point with any service or product, price comes into consideration. Sunlight's proposal was fair and reasonable. One doesn't always get what he pays for, but one rarely gets what he doesn't pay for. And again, no other insulation service seemed as credentialed or as professional as Sunlight. From the start of the process the professionalism was evident, with a prompt visit from an genial inspector whose work quickly led to a formal estimate. From the beginning Sunlight's Ira Boschnack was constantly in touch, explaining the process, selecting the earliest convenient date and then alerting me immediately when an even earlier date opened up. I have never purchased any product or service--I am 60 years old--that resulted in a level of input and interaction equal to what I received from Sunlight. The Sunlight crew--Bruce, Kyron, Clayton and Braidin and Corey--arrived at exactly the established time this morning. The work was expected to take up to four hours, yet the crew is meticulously cleaning up and preparing to depart less than two hours from their start. A blower test already confirms--one was conducted before the start of the job--that my very loosely constructed, older house is considerably tighter. I only wish foam insulation--and Sunlight--had existed when I first purchased it in 1985. One hears a great deal these days about the development of renewable energy, a trend that will only accelerate. One hears less about an equally critical piece of the clean energy puzzle, which is the construction of energy efficient houses and buildings or the retrofitting of those that are not. I recently moved into the home that I was raised in and, as expected with any older home, I had many issues to address. I had a new a/c unit installed; however, the temperature in the home always exceeded the temperature set on the thermostat. I eventually learned that the insulation in my attic was insufficient and partially to blame for my cooling issues. I found myself in need of an insulation company. I asked around and a friend located Sunlight Contractors, LLC on Angie's List. I called other companies as well to ensure I received the best deal at the best price. The initial quote from Sunlight Contractors was above my budget; however, Ira advised me of a more affordable option. Ira's professionalism, the business' reputation, and the fact that Ira provided videos and documentation to ensure I was well informed of the various services the company offers, made my decision to choose Sunlight Contractors a "no brainer". From the very beginning to the very end, Ira and his team were phenomenal. They came in early on a Monday morning and by Tuesday afternoon they had my house looking like no one was ever here. I needed a good solid insulation done in my walls. I'm pretty sure the neighbors were tired of listening to the baby cry and me yell for another load of laundry and at the tv during football season (I get very into my Saints games) and I am certain I was tired of listening to full conversations from my neighbors that I wasn't even invited to to chime in on. Something had to be done. Sunlight contractors called the same day of an inquiry and we had everything from the date to come out and payment all set up in 72 hrs. A girl's gotta do her homework. Ashley, the young lady who makes all of the calls was so sweet and such a pro and we even bonded on scheduling because of work and kids. She made me feel like I was VIP. Clayton came out and did his inspection and he was super sweet and even spoke to the kids. The respect was on point. The day of the drilling and filling as I like to say was so smooth, that I felt like I had family in my home and not just another contract crew. I spoke with everyone and they spoke with me. Allen and Antonio were just great people to even vibe with. And Mr. Clinton made sure they didn't miss a spot when it came to cleaning up. Ira checked in every hour on the hour to make sure we were happy. I have never been treated so well by anyone doing work to my home. This review is about my experience dealing with Sunlight Contractors as well as the quality of the installation services rendered. I will update and/or add another review at a later time after I've had time to assess the impact of the foam that was installed. After contemplating having spray foam installed in my attic for over two years and getting quotes from three other companies, I finally decided to pull the trigger on the project, and I chose Sunlight because they were the most professional, easiest to interact with, and seemed to genuinely care about me as the customer and giving me the best customer service experience and spray foam possible. In fact, I waited almost five months after first contacting Sunlight to finally scheduled the job. During that time, Corey or Ira responded to several of my questions/concerns in a very timely manner, and remained very patient with me and never tried to hard sell me on getting the foam. Once I finally scheduled the project, Corey and his team came out exactly on time, set up, did the blower door test, and gave me a quick run down of what would happen next. They told me they'd call me when they were close to being done so I could come back and inspect the job. Again, exactly as planned Ira called me to tell me they'd be finishing in about 30 minutes, so I went home to meet Corey. He told me the results of the after blower door test, and we did a quick visual inspection of the attic, which looked great. I had previously mentioned that my wife has asthma, and so he ran the ventilation for longer than normal to help minimize the smell, which was fairly minimal and to be expected. I have been absolutely blown away by my experience with Sunlight Contractors. From the very moment I called, Ira was helpful, responsive, and easy to talk to. After our first conversation he sent me all kinds of videos that educated me on exactly what was going on in my house and why it was losing so much heat in the winter and cool air in the winter. I cannot tell you what it was a relief to find someone who was an expert in this field, that I could trust to guide me in the right direction. I shopped around for a couple quotes and Sunlight was on par--if not less than--other contractors that weren't nearly as pleasant to work with or as knowledgable in their field. Because I work at home I was in an extra hurry to get the work done and Ira bent over backwards to make sure it got on their schedule as quickly as possible. When his team arrived they were friendly, informative, and considerate and dare I say even fun to be around. They did what's called a blower test and walked me around the house showing me where exactly all the air leaks are and giving me tips on how to improve things not even related to the work they were doing! I've only had my spray foam attic installed today, so this glowing review is speaking to how awesome the Sunlight team is, without even having first hand experience with their product!! I'll make sure to update my review once I've lived with my new roof for a few weeks but all signs point to me absolutely loving it. I used sunlight Contractors to spray foam my garage attic 5 years ago and they did an excellent job, I recently called to get a quote for my parents house I was surprised that Ira Bash remember my name and some other detail. I hired them for the second time to spray foam the attic at my parents house and I honestly can say that Ira Bash, Corey and their team did a spectacular job I'm 100% satisfied, they finish the job in 1 day Ira came out himself to inspect the job after it was done and to make sure that I am satisfied that just shows how dedicated he is. 1 week later they send a guy name Alan wonderful person very professional to do an infrared imaging and to make sure that the previous crew did not miss any spots and to make sure that the attic is completely sealed and the gas furnace is vented properly. I noticed that this company means serious business they gotten much better and more sophisticated with their equipment from five years ago. I wish I had known Sunlight Contractors when spray my home attic 8 or 9 ago because After inspection it turned out that it was not done the right way they show me the difference sadly I'm going to have to redo it. I recommend Sunlight Contractor to anyone who need there attic sprayed with foam trust me people I know the difference and the difference is about 5 inches because the foam in my garage attic and my parents house is about 6 inches thick which was done by Sunlight Contracter and the foam in my home attic is about 1 inch thick and the attic is not completely sealed and that was done by another company. Research and customer reviews determined Sunlight Contractors was a licensed contractor, both residential and commercial, that could successfully remediate or fix anything. The sunlight crew, led by Clayton, even identified, and fixed some other preexisting issues around the house that they saw needed to be fixed and didn't charge a penny. I called on a Wednesday and Mr. Ira called me back immediately. He answered many of my questions over the phone. We set up an appointment for an estimate on the Friday of the same week. Corey, one of his employees, finished up a job early and was able to come out on that Thursday to take all his measurements and answered all the questions that had occurred to me since my conversation with Ira. We received and accepted the quote on the next day. There was a crew at my house the Saturday of the same week to remove the old insulation. The crew that came out was awesome; they were very friendly and cleaned up the house very well. The foam crew came in that following Monday and did great job. They were prompt courteous and also cleaned up well. It's been 2 weeks now of 90° + temperatures and the 20 year old AC unit in the house isn't struggling to keep up anymore. We had a wonderful experience with Mr. Ira and his crew of professional and hardworking individuals. This company delivers exceptional professional service fueled by deep expertise. The process took several hours to complete, which was explained to me during the sales presentation. The crew arrived on time and immediately began to move any items out of my attic that were in the way. Upon completing the job, they cleaned up any debris which may have accumulated from the work and put everything back exactly where it had been moved from. As a result of the work, I have realized immediate savings in my electrical bill and my air conditioning unit is working much more efficiently. Prior to this, my a/c unit would come on at about 10am and not go off until 10pm, after the house cooled back down. The unit never "cycled" on and off during the daytime hours and the thermostat would often reach 85 or 86 degrees. This would keep the unit running constantly until it cooled back down to 78 degrees, where I kept it set. Now the thermostat never rises above 79 degrees (still set at 78) and the a/c unit cycles on and off during the day like its supposed to. My most recent electrical bill was $179.35 where my bill for the same period last year was approximately $304.15. My home is much cooler and comfortable while helping me save money via lower electrical bills. read more

Sunlight did a fantastic job with spray foaming our attic. From start to finish, everything went perfectly. from the great customer service to the cleanup. Ira even had our sub-floor inspected (previous owner had foamed closed cell underneath) and offered to fill in any "gaps". It felt great knowing that Sunlight went the extra mile to make our home more efficient and comfortable; these professionals are NOT interested in inflating the cost by finding additional things to fix before foaming (the highest bid we got came from a company that wanted to put CELLULOSE in the attic!!!) We finally found a company to meet up to our standards in getting the job done! Ira is on top of emails,text,phone call's with any updates or questions you need may need to know before the insulation is done. The crew that took our old insulation out worked through lunch to get every bit of that nasty stuff out! They were Awesome! We had an old musky smelling house that we updated everything but the insulation. We knew that was the last thing we had to try. It's been less than 24 hours and it smells less musky already. The smell after your new insulation is sprayed is like a freshly panted house, open the windows for a couple of hours and the smell is gone. My husband went in our small attic to inspect and take pictures and we were in Awe at how they reached such tight area's with the spray foam. If your looking for a company that stands behind there word ,Sunlight is the company to chose! We are very pleased with the service we received. Ok, here's the run down about spray foam in your attic: It WILL cut your energy bill nearly in half, and in a sense, turn your house into a cacoon of cool. Let's all agree on that. Now the difficult part: coping with the cost, and chosing the right contractor. The price is nearly universal across the board and is calculated (including labor) per sq. ft. Ira and Sunlight did bid lower than 75 % of the competition, but in the end, it was the customer service that sealed the deal. Ira and everyone at Sunlight Contractors were Fantastic. Needed insulation for my new built Home in Waveland MS. Contacted Sunlight Contractors along with 4 other spray foam contractors. After talking to Ira regarding my needs he convinced me I wanted Spray Foam throughout the house and the underside of the home (Elevated Home). I was running on a tight time schedule and he was able to get the work done on my schedule. The crew was on time and completed the interior of the home in one day. Cam back on Friday and did the underside of the home with in 3 hours. The Crew was very courteous and very knowledgeable of the process. Even ensured the bathroom vents were run to an area that would allow them to vent outside to keep the moisture out of the home. As far as how well the insulation will perform is yet to be seen doo to the Mini Split A/C system is not completed yet but I expect it to be fantastic. Sunlight Contractors provided a fantastic service for me. This is the second home that I have had spray foam insulated and I can't tell enough people about how much of a difference it makes. We had the air conditioner replaced and it just couldn't keep up with this south Louisiana heat. About a day after Sunlight was finished the temperature went from about 86° during the day, to around 72°. The sitting temperature in the attic went from 130° to 80°. The attic is more comfortable now than the inside of my house was before it was sprayed. The A/C was running non stop before the house was sprayed, now it regularly turns off. Just the money we're saving alone in electricity was worth it. Sunlight was on time and finished the job quickly. The gentlemen on site were professional and courteous. We just had sunlight contractors complete the job at our house and they did a wonderful job. Not only did they complete the whole job in a timely manner but they cleaned up after themselves. They were able to improve the energy efficiency of our house immensely. After coming and giving us am extremely detailed estimate, they did everything as promised. Corey was here the entire time supervising and when they were complete gave me a complete rundown of all the work. Most of all Ira has been great from day 1. Very personable, he called to explain the process and ask if we had any questions from the time of the estimate until the job was complete.
