"There's a feeling I get when I look to the west, And my spirit is crying for leaving" (Stairway to Heaven -Led Zeppelin) Have you ever walked into a restaurant and gotten a "feeling" before you even sat your tired old bones onto a chair? I sure did yesterday. We weren't greeted by some plastic corporate automaton. We weren't greeted by some 22 year old Barbie doll. We were greeted by a warm family, and they treated us like long lost relatives. They were so welcoming, so friendly, so honestly glad to see us. I must have been called "Hon" seven times, and hey... I'm a sucker for that. S&F is a family owned casual dining Italian restaurant. On one side is the bar, and on our side was the dining room with perhaps seating for 20 or so. The décor is a dark ceiling, dark paneling on the lower walls, and pale yellow upper walls. They have a few TV's on the wall and a few chalkboards with drink and dessert options. The menu has two sides. Act 1 includes salads and appetizers. Act II has Italian entrees and a few burgers and sandwiches. Act 1 choices will run ($10-15), Act II entrees run mostly in the low $20's, and ACT II burgers and sandwiches are $13 - $14. The complimentary bread was great and fairly unique- generously sprinkled with grated cheese like so much gourmet fairy dust. Our party of four ordered a Simmered Meatball appetizer ($12) in Sunday appetizer with a dollop of ricotta, a massive portion of Veal Parmigiana ($23) with spaghetti, two portions of Country Rigatoni ($19) with a beef and pork ragu, San Marzano tomatoes, and basil oil, and one of the night's specials -Salmon and Mussels Fra Diavlo ($25). None of the entrees included a salad. The food was magnificent. Every shred of the meatballs disappeared. I tasted the rigatoni and loved it. Perfect al dente pasta in a decadent meat sauce. I had the salmon, and it was possibly the best salmon I ever had. It was super moist without any trace of hard edges or overcooking. The fra diavlo sauce was darker than what I'm used to, but I guess that was the result of all that flavor crammed into it. It had the perfect amount of zip I want in a fra diavlo -enough so you know those red pepper flakes are in there, but not enough to set your mouth on fire. I finished up with a coffee, that was wonderful, I mean really exceptional. I liked the way they served the coffee cream -in a little brandy snifter! When we were done, we sat lingering at the table and had a nice conversation with Chef Corey who came out and asked us how we liked dinner. He was a regular guy, without an ounce of pretension. I asked if they had a take-out menu, and learned they didn't, but Chef Corey said- "just call us, I'll make whatever you want". FYI, Sunny & Frankies doesn't have a website, but their Facebook and iDine pages have their menu posted. We really loved our meal here.

We've gotten take out here a handful of times, and it's always been really good. Love the penne a la vodka and chicken parm. Give it a try!

Then someone who was sitting at the bar came to give us menus and said to sit anywhere. We finally sat and a waitress named Gabby came took our orders. I ordered a Steak salad no mushrooms sweet potato fries and the person I was with got a hot oil pizza. Pretty easy. Well waitress brought out the pizza and I waited and waited and waited, no salad no fries. I asked the waitress where my salad was she said she was going to check on it, never happened she then went to tables and started to take orders. I was getting frustrated and my friends pizza was now cold as she was waiting for me. After waiting for about 10 mins I went to the bar and explained to the bartender and she went to check and came out with my food. Not once did the waitress come to check on us. My salad was suppose to have tomatoes which it did not. I flagged down the waitress and asked her and she said she would bring some right out once again I waited and waited by that time my friends pizza was soggy and she said it didn't even taste that great. As I waiting I was eating the sweet potato fries and ate some of the salad but it was literally just lettuce, onion, Gorgonzola and steak, I wanted those tomatoes. I asked her yet again and she said she would get them then attended to other tables so I just started to eat my salad. I was finished had my salad plate empty at the end of the table then FINALLY a gentleman brought out a plate of tomatoes I told him I didn't need them and I finished my food and he replied "she just told me" I told him I asked her for them 20 minutes ago. Very disappointed I did speak to the bartender and leave some feedback not sure if it made its way to whoever but I appreciate her helping

I sent it back and the staff told me that they prepared a new meal. They literally tried to pick the chicken out and give it back to me. I took a bite and noticed there was still chicken. I was also skeptical because the food came back too fast, that was my first red flag. I have been a vegetarian for 7+ years. This was a very bad experience. The manager did try to offer me a 3rd plate. I denied. There is no way I would be able to trust the kitchen again

The Crock of Chili came out piping hot with melted cheddar, jalapeño, sour cream, and tortilla chips, rich and hearty from the first spoonful. The Breaded Popcorn Shrimp was crisp and well‑seasoned with a wasabi dipping sauce that added just the right kick. We ordered the Peremech Sandwich twice -- Tut's spiced ground beef wrapped in pastry with bouillon, sour cream, soy sauce, and sautéed onion -- unique, savory, and surprisingly filling. The soft‑shell crab sandwich was the standout, fresh and cooked perfectly. Overall, great staff, very good service, and large portions make Rory's a dependable spot for a solid lunch.

For a Sunday at 1pm, It was packed- 20 minute wait so we ended up at Rory's just down the road. My sister got the eggs Benedict, father and I both started with the French onion soup and we split a crab sandwich. The waitress was super kind and they even split the crab sandwich on two plates with fries which was nice as some places just give you the meal and an extra plate. I would definitely recommend going to Rory's if you feel like skipping the line at the diner and the diner-esque food. It wasn't packed, service was great, we didn't feel rushed and the food was very good.
