    Post Road Breakfast Burrito

I came for weekday breakfast and there were only a few tables occupied. Kitschy old school diner vibe, with frankly minimal service. Our server only came to take our order, deliver food, and hand the check (which you pay at the register). I ordered the Post Road Breakfast Burrito under their "breakfast creative omelettes." It would have been dry if it were a standalone omelette, but satisfying slathered in sour cream and salsa. If you are looking for acceptable, no-frills diner food, this place meets those expectations.

Very cute little old time diner on a lovely side street in downtown New Canaan. Like stepping back in time, it feels like an old-fashioned soda fountain of the 1950's. We went for breakfast. Simple sausage and egg sandwiches and they were good. Nothing amazing or memorable, but satisfying. Go for the experience and nostalgia, lower your culinary expectations, and you'll have a positive experience.

Came here tonight for the first time. Was in the area and needed dinner. I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner in a wrap. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce..wow was it delicious!! The only thing I would have liked more of was gravy and cranberry sauce. I was gonna ask my server for a slice, but she never checked on us. I also ordered cheese and gravy fries.. unbelievably delicious. I didn't want them to end, lol. The gentlemen that cleaned my table, gave me a menu, and brought me a drink was very kind and attentive. On the other hand, our server was not good. She literally just took our order. She never checked on us, and I had to go ask her for the check. She should learn to be more attentive to her tables. Especially since it's a tiny diner and wasn't slammed. The diner itself is very clean and really awesome to look around. Will definitely return.

    Fresh Chips & Guacamole

This diner is pretty cute on the inside, it has a classic diner feel. It is pretty cramped at times especially when it's busy but not too bad since they also have outdoor seating. Believe it or not, my favorite thing to get is their guacamole because it's extremely fresh and they serve it with homemade chips. I've also had breakfast here and it was good, pretty typical, nothing special. Worth a try but it is typically filled with families, children, and groups of teens so it gets extremely lively at times. The service was also pretty good, but it is definitely on the pricier side for average tasting food.

Excellent burger and French Onion soup. Menu very extensive. Kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and meatball parm. Great prices, too. Kid-friendly. Will be back.

Meh. Used to be an affordable, excellent-quality spot. Now, $50 for my wife and I to have a so-so diner breakfast.

Hit or miss. Lately it has been a miss. Fair prices though with nice service and the milkshakes are still very creamy and good!

Got a hair in my egg sandwich. Would not recommend the wait is also long. The decor is also faded.

The diner decor is cute, here, and I only had tea. They close way too early.

What ties them all together is quality. Every dish on the menu at Rosie is great with seasonal specials that everyone should try when offered. My two favorites are the Fillet Mignon and Beef Brisket Tacos both of which I've ordered and eaten more times than I care to admit. For non-meat eaters, Rosie also has delicious options on the menu for vegetarians and vegans; and you don't have to be either to recognize and enjoy delicious food without meat like the desserts; speaking of which Rosie is known for its gigantic muffins. When dining-in, I highly recommend saving room for a muffin or if you're too full at the end of your meal, order one or a few to-go. The banana walnut muffin is insanely good! Regarding ambiance, the restaurant is small, casual and quaint -- a place you'd expect to see in a small New England town that's also rated the best place to live in Connecticut. During the Spring, Summer and Fall months, you can dine outdoors with your fur babies. New Canaan is a dog-friendly town and the people and service at Rosie are great too. There's street parking in front and a public lot just around the corner from the restaurant.

I wish I could spell his name without butchering it. I ordered the fish taco and it was delicious. We also had the eggplant fries, bang bang shrimp, and the banana nut oat crunch muffin, which was excellent. We ordered some other food like an omelet, and the tostada crunch wrap. I can't say anything bad about the food here. What I will say, though, is that this was a bit pricey for a brunch spot. $15 for a small glass of lavender mimosas ... yeah, definitely overpriced, but again, the food and friendly staff made up for that. My sister and I agreed we would be back. Oh, and the inside isn't too big but could use a bit of personality. It wasn't the most appealing, but honestly, this place is about the food.
