It was a chilly little night on my birthday, my nipples couldve cut glass! My partner and I were looking to get a nice cocktail at a nice restaurant. Uncorked is listed as opened until midnight, and I was pumped. To my utter shock and horror we pull up to the restaurant at 10:39pm on 2/19/25 to absolutely darkness. Stools up, lights off, no sign of life for hours. Had to go home and drink the bottle of red I save for special occasions. At least something got uncorked that night. For my birthday next year, not only do i want all the presents and money but also more importantly I want accurate hours online. read more

Typical small American bar where I like. As you see my photo, Food was delicious.. But I'm sorry I had to say regret to be here. It's not over price, more like over charge . We are still so upset since our credit card was charged double price on purposely. That means we spread the check but they charged full price on each card without our signature. We were so shocked after this fun brunch on Saturday and called them again and again to dispute for 3 days but They didn't take it seriously, obviously malicious. They ruined our beautiful memory of The glass house tour. Sad... I'll keep this post while We are calling them to dispute, I'm sorry for the chef/ owner .. Her warmth and attentiveness made such an impression that we came back the very next night for the live music. THEY DELETED MY FIRST REVIEW ON GOOGLE!! This experience was so bad, I had to share. The bartender (wouldn't even give me his name but I heard someone say Jason so maybe that's it.) was downright miserable--no smile, no personality, just a grumpy guy who clearly didn't want to be there. When I asked for a drink, I was met with a cold stare, and he barely even acknowledged me. I ordered one of their signature drinks. The drink itself was awful. He didn't measure and it was obvious. Just so bad. Add to that his terrible attitude--he was rude, unengaging, and it honestly felt like I was bothering him by ordering. There's no excuse for that when you're in a customer service role especially when it wasn't busy at all. Such fun upscale food from a fun bar atmosphere. It's actually 2 restaurants in one. Mexican and American/Asian. I highly recommend the French fries and the deconstructed quesadilla. The corn salad was also very fresh! Only negative was the wine was a little overpriced for wine on tap. And it was a little warm on a hot day. But an amazing espresso martini! I really wanted to like this place. We went for a lunch- checked in at 12 and had a 1:30 meeting we needed to make. We sat outside and there were only 2 other tables. Started with the guacamole and chips. Meh. I had the short rib taco and friend had the inverted mushroom quesadilla. Mine was oddly tasteless even with the sauce. It was not what I was expecting. Meat was cooked well- but lacked flavor and the "sauce" or dip was very acidic. Shell was really greasy- and flavorless. Not even a hint of salt! So without a sweeter sauce on the meat it fell flat for me. Meanwhile the quesadilla was very tasty. Very good but salty- more than should be. It's like 2 different chefs prepared the meals- one with an aversion to seasoning and one with a heavy hand. I think what was also odd was it took an unusually long time for the meals to come post app. We were late for our 1:30 (down the street) as several tables poured in as we were waiting for our meals. Small little, charming bar and restaurant in the middle of a the type of town it's easy to stop and stroll through... even if a bit snooty. It was a nice summer day and my husband and I were on our way back from a weekend getaway and decided to stop in the area for a nice walk and some lunch. We ended up coming into this place for a quick bite, and sat right by the window to eat and people-watch. We got a couple of beers, some wings and the "lollipop" and we're delighted with how everything tasted. We enjoyed our view of Main Street, though were a bit shocked when a young woman let her dog poop right in the middle of the sidewalk not two car lengths away from our perch - and then she didn't clean it up. From there on out it was like watching shoppers avoid land mines, which admittedly we found a little humorous as we enjoyed the rest of our food. Fortunately it was far enough away to not be terribly gross to look at (or smell), but unfortunately it wasn't close enough for us to warn people away... so we made the best of an otherwise icky situation and turned it into a game of "will they step in it"... LOL I digress... the food was great and the service was friendly enough. Though not much more than fancy bar food, the prices were a bit high, but the atmosphere was fun and it was a pleasant way to spend a little time before getting back on the road. I like to save towns and sights in Google that I wish to come back to... I'm not sure this one's charm overrides it's pretentiousness and we'll likely not make the effort to return here specifically, but I'd stop at South End Uncorked again if passing through the area. read more

What a hidden gem! I was in the area and looking for a refreshing drink and small bite. Uncorked was the perfect location to stumble upon. The entrance is on the side, and there's a tiny patio with just a few small tables outside. The inside area is a bit larger, but the whole place is pretty small and intimate. It was a perfect day to sit outside, so I did. I ordered prosecco ($9 for a little bottle, which was the perfect amount because it allowed for a refill), and tried the hamachi "nachos" - yucca chips with delicious hamachi, and the lobster lollipops - skewers with tasty grilled lobster meat on them. The whole experience was great, and I was pleased to learn they have a happy hour during the week, during which the snacks/tapas are 50% off! I will definitely be back. read more

Lame food. Terrible service. Incompetent staff. Exorbitant prices. What more do you need to know? They will not alter any dish at all. Want bacon on your burger? The manager will come over to tell you about how they have a "rule against putting bacon on burgers." If you want lettuce or tomato, they will lecture you about how it's not in this kitchen but they will *maybe* consider running across the dining area to their joint restaurant to grab one from a different kitchen? The manager was weird and clingy but also very condescending like she thought she was better than us. Very weird. A bowl of guacamole was $20 and it was maybe 2 cups worth of guac - barely enough to share with two people. The burgers we ordered were supposed to come medium rare but were brown in the middle and burnt. We asked for ketchup and had to wait 20 minutes since the person we asked went over to the bar to make drinks for other people. She also forgot our drinks. Yet all the people working there had time to sit on their phones and one was FaceTiming her friend while simultaneously complaining about how swamped they were. There were only about 5 tables with people in the whole place and 4 people on staff working. Yes. So very busy. On another note, all of the chairs in the whole place are tall, thin barstools that dig into your legs and butt. They are extremely uncomfortable and leave you sore on the way out. read more

So my family and I just walked in ... being the only BLACK family in the entire establishment. I called to make a reservation but they said it's first come first serve. We'll be fine m. To arrive an hour later and There were two tables outside open but were told we cannot sit there. They're now reserved... huh I thought it's first come first serve but now you're rudely... again rudely telling me a different story. Another worker was nice to let us sit at a table but yet again a man makes us get out of our seats and refuses to sit us! This is not the time at all to move with racists intent! DONT EAT HERE ! I had a good experience here. They have a great outdoor area. Came with my 18 month old for lunch and the waitress was very accommodating. They had a bar height high chair for the tall tables. She brought him a fun cup of water. I had forgotten his bib and so she basically made him one. Chicken enchiladas were good. The place was pretty busy on a Friday afternoon. read more

My review is mainly for their ability to serve a large group. They took everyone's order and then either mixed and matched who gets the food or forgot it entirely. After waiting half an hour and realizing that someone else probably has my dish, I ordered again, and still didn't get any food. Everyone was finishing up and I was starving! I ordered for a third time and finally got the food over an hour after I ordered the first dish. I don't even remember what I got. I just ate it in 30 seconds and we all left. It was a very frustrating experience, but I can imagine it's really challenging for a restaurant to serve a party of over 20 people. Came a few weeks ago and had the local rocket green salad with lemon Rosemary dressing and chicken. I have been dreaming about this salad every day since. My husband had the cheesesteak and he loved it as well. If you have Celiac disease or an intense gluten allergy, don't eat the tortilla chips because of cross contamination in the fryer. Luckily, I asked before participating in the table's chips and guac because the staff didn't advise regarding the safety of the chips when our table ordered - the only negative of the visit. High tops, banquette booths, window view, or saddle up to the smaller bar. Back ground music was on the louder side but no matter. Service is prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Excellent wine and craft beer choices. I had the Founders all day IPA. Eclectic, creative, modern menu with a strong lean on fresh, flavorful, farm forward ingredients. Small plates, soups, salads, chicken wings, burgers but not so traditional execution or flavors. The butternut squash soup was excellent. You may think that avocado toast is simple. But believe it or not it can easily go wrong. It's all about the bread! This was a multi grain thick cut crunchy bread which paired beautifully with the fresh slightly salted creamy avocado and I ordered shishito peppers on the side. It was all so delicious. The salad with roasted butternut squash, burrata, and pumpkin seeds was fresh and delicious with wonderful complexity and excellent citrus. I must try! read more

Dicey place. It's well known there are many underage college kids going here plus a lot of New Canaan old people so it's kind of an unholy mix. Add to that exorbitant prices for drinks and subpar food and that the majority of staff is angry (or at other times obviously superficial friendly) and it's not good. Is that bar tender who's always there really a cocaine dealer? Don't know myself but that's what people say? We enjoyed having (early) dinner here. The place is pretty small ..but kinda cozy. Food was good. Seating at the bar area can feel a bit cramp when they are busy. I was there a bit before 5 .. and second time around 5:30-6, that's when people started piling in. I sat at the bar when it was empty and when it got busy, I had to squeeze in so other dudes can hang. Next time I would pick a booth or a communal table. We ordered Kobe flat iron steak, steamed pork buns, and crispy tuna taco. All were delicious, but crispy tuna stood out the most. It was so refreshing with a good amount citrus. I recommend it! Pork buns were good (if you like Kimchi). Flat iron steak could use just a bit more seasoning, but nonetheless I would order it again. What to do, what to do? A couple of buds and I went to South End Uncorked and could not decide between the double-double, the cheesesteak, or the dog. Easy fix...we each ordered a burger and then split a cheesesteak and dog among the trio. And why not some cheese curds to start. The cheesesteak was great, moist, flavorful, just let the great flavors shine. The dog, made in house, had great flavor and consistency. It was topped with some spicy relish and mustard. A margarita with fresh lime juice and their special cocktail made with Vodka and fresh watermelon were both excellent. Nice fresh guacamole with chips was a great starter. I enjoyed the shredded brussel sprouts salad and my friend enjoyed the crispy chicken salad. Both were generous portions with enough to take home for another meal. I'll be back. read more
