Sunny Days truly captures the spirit of Ithaca, just like I've seen mentioned in other reviews. The store is absolutely adorable, and I love that they have an upstairs and an additional section selling Ithaca-based merch. I visit every so often when I'm in town simply because of how cute it is. I was happy to see they sell some local products, like a hot sauce I previously found at the Ithaca Farmer's Market. Their book selection is also charming - I spotted a bathroom check-in book for guests to fill out, which I thought was such a fun idea. What a wonderful gift shop! First of all, the owner is a delight so talk to. So friendly and helpful! And she's taking COVID seriously which I appreciate. I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes (only one group allowed in at a time). She provided a basket to put anything I touched inside and then we reviewed what I wanted to purchase at the register. The store was clean and bright and had many unique items. I found everything to be reasonably priced and i loved that many if not all were locally sourced. I will absolutely make another stop on my next visit! read more

When I think of Ithaca, I can't help but think of the wonderful experience I had at Sunny Days. Not only will visitors be in for a treat, but the owner(s) are also wonderful, hardworking people who really take pride in what they do (as they should). Sunny Days was one of the first options that came up on Yelp when it had come to gift shops in the area. However, because the time listed for closing was eight in the evening, my mother and I had foregone going straight to SD after checking into our hotel and over to CVS because we were having some toiletry issues. It was by chance that on the way back to our hotel, we had stumbled upon SD in person and were fortunate enough to see the store was still open, so of course, we rushed right in. It is really difficult to describe SD in words because there is a feeling that you get once you walk in, similar to that of visiting your grandparents, or just a place in general that is heartwarming and exudes good vibes. Plus, the store boasts locally made wares and goods so you get a good feel for what Ithaca is known for and some of their local superstars. Perhaps what I enjoyed most about the store is its variety since you could practically find everything for anyone you have on your shopping list (yourself included). SD is a little more on the pricey side, but nothing like what you'd see in Hawai'i, and more than that, I feel the items are well worth their price point. The owner was also really sweet by giving me a student discount even though I was from out-of-town and gave my mother and I good suggestions as to where to eat for dinner. Overall, if you're in Ithaca and are looking for some great gifts for family and friends, possibly even yourself, I would highly recommend Sunny Days as your go-to gift shop. Wow. Sunny Days, besides offering a wonderful and eclectic collection that makes it stand out, is run by the sweetest people. My fiancé bought souvenirs here a few days ago, and when we arrived in town he took us over. We looked around, spoke with the owners and just enjoyed the evening finding all of the little corners of the shop. As we left, one of the owners gave us a little gift for free. We were so surprised that we didn't buy anything this time, but that they gave us something anyway. Who does that nowadays. Ever since this shop opened a half a block from the Ithaca Commons, it has made this corner. My favorite gift shop in Ithaca, NY, and generally open at convenient times, in my opinion, they're doing everything right. The staff is smiling and friendly, the atmosphere is colorful and festive, and it just feels very welcoming. If you're just visiting our small city, this is a must-see, and a short walk from virtually anywhere downtown. If you have been hunting around for good postcards of Ithaca - like me - this is the place to go. I was delighted to find fun, interesting postcards here after being made disappointed by Wegmans and Ithaca Visitor Center's lackluster collections. The price is a bit high at $.99, but to me it's worth it for people waiting for my postcards all over the world. You can also use a coupon from "The Guide to Being Local" coupon book and get 10% off your purchase (2016 edition). The convenient location right across from the public library. We came in today to get out of the rain and look around. The owner was so friendly. A little girl and her dad were in, and she let the girl color a button, and stopped to speak with them. As we walked by she came over to talk to us, and ask if we needed help, or any recommendations of things to do in the area. The merchandise at this store is really unique. The owners and staff are really kind and interesting and the prices are very fair. You can get some really great tshirts, mugs, artwork, cards, decorative items, etc. and often if you ask about items, the staff will tell you stories about why they have decided to stock that item or where it comes from. They usually have some cool deals and they play great playlists. It's a store that makes you feel proud of the community and of Ithaca and it's really somewhere people feel good about supporting.
