I went to Sunny Donuts on my way back from a track and field meet and I had a big appetite. However, I didn't go to buy donuts in the regular sense, I went to pick up a TooGoodToGo order. If you haven't explored this app yet I highly recommend- it's an app to help fight food waste. We pulled up to the store and were welcomed by a quaint, Mom and Pop style donut shop. They had a selection that included all of the traditional donuts, as well as several specialty flavors, like taro, maple bacon, and more that looked incredible. There was indoor seating and they had several items other that donuts on the menu. The staff was very friendly, And our TooGoodToGo order was quickly packed up. We ended up with a total of 14 donuts. These included to jelly filled, several different variations of original glazed, and some frosting and sprinkles donuts. I was very pleasantly surprised with the airiness of the donuts. None of them were too heavy, and they had a very satisfying bite and flavor to each. Every flavor was subtly different, but I found my favorite was the original glazed, and the cinnamon glaze. Such a cool hidden donut spot! I've driven past this corner plaza a bunch of times, and never knew what I was missing out on. Delicious donuts! Cool flavors, great texture, overall recommend. I got a maple log and a taro donut. Loved the taro donut. There's also a bunch of other flavors, your normal donuts, but also reeses cups flavors, sprinkles, and many more. This is on my way to school & work & I must say I love it. It's not often to find a place the has a turkey & cheese croissant. I recently gave up eating pig & trying to limit my red meat intake & ham & cheese were one of my go to's. I'm glad this location offers this, and the donuts are magnificent. I will give this donut shop 5 stars based solely on the customer service!! The gentleman working the counter was so sweet and nice! I'll be back just to talk to him again! The shop is on the smaller side so there really isn't seating but I took my donuts to go and that works for me since I've got little ones with me. The cronut was my absolute favorite! They also offer it filled with strawberries so I'll have to give that a shot next time! The iced coffee was okay. I usually like let creamer in my coffee but it's already premixed so next time I'll just do hot coffee and mix in my cream and sugar myself. The prices were great and they had a ton of donut options. This is my go to donut place and one of the sweetest people ever. I expressed to them that I work at a high school and I was getting ready for testing so I went over to get some kids some donut holes not only did she give me a discount just all the kindness of her heart, but she gave my students Free donuts just because she was extremely sweet! It's so cute in there as well but I believe one of the best things about it is that it's such a great neighborhood donut shop and they are so kind and sweet. We always order a sugar donut and a maple bar. Recently I've come here to buy donuts for some events and parties I've thrown: my sisters bridal shower, her wedding, and even for Chinese New Year (bright red with gold dots)! The owner is helpful and creative with ideas and her donuts come out beautifully. Go with the raised donuts with glazing (not cake donuts). We had baby pink and white donuts with white drizzle and chocolate with white drizzle for the bridal shower and wedding and it was an absolute hit. The donut wall came out beautifully and everyone enjoyed the donuts. It's more expensive than your regular glazed donut but well worth it. I order a few days in advance and they always have it ready for pick up on the morning of the event. And the owners are awesome and always polite and friendly. read more

I can not believe it a five stars. Many of you remember the old owner. He was nice but his but his donuts were expensive and small. And all of you know I hate giving fives. Donut wall! We just got married last week and our venue offers a donut wall space! We had Sunny Donuts here and there and they were always yummy. We decided to come and talk to them for a bulk order for our wedding we needed a lot of donuts around 200 and were a bit worried if they could handle it. They exceeded our expectations every donut was beautiful our order was ready on time and the donuts were heavenly. Being a good uncle is something I try to be. So when my wife called to tell me that the nieces wanted a snack, I looked for a donut shop. Since I was in the neighborhood, I dropped by Sunny Donuts in Whittier. Its a cute little local donut shop. I dropped by on a Sunday afternoon, and there was still a good selection to choose from. Nieces wanted Maple bars, Blueberry donut, and Sugar donuts. I got myself a Chocolate donut filled with bavarian cream. My donut was yummy. They always have fresh donuts never stale not even once in the 20 something years I've been coming here , the people are a very very nice Christian family whose sons sometimes help out and you can tell by the way their kids treat their job and the customers that they have been raised right. Every time I come here and I see their son who speaks perfect English and his parents who have pretty thick Asian accents it makes me proud to be an American as this business and family is a perfect example of what you can accomplish with a little hard work and honesty.
