I hate to leave bad reviews but this spot was not good. We found something close to the freeway as we were driving through so it would be convenient to hop off and back on quick. Donuts were very heavy, greasy. Like back in the 80's all donut shops were like this. But it seems like since then shops have figure out how to specialize and improve donuts. I donut care, I love me some donuts! If I weren't concerned with a 'healthy' lifestyle, I could eat donuts and ham and cheese croissants everyday. However, since that is not the case, whenever I am in the area I will stop by Homestyle Donuts for a quick fix. THE DETAILS: This is a very cute mom and pop shop. You will most likely see the cash register ran by the owners and sometimes you'll see their son, Brandon. The owners and Brandon are very friendly and always greets you with a smile when you walk through the door. THE TREATS: I was very impressed with the variety of different donuts that they carried: from blueberry donuts to maple donuts, they had it all! My personal favorite are the jelly stuffed ones and I've tried many of the donuts and I have not been disappointed. The donuts are very fresh and the texture is very light and fluffy. Tried three different donuts on the same day; raised, cake, old fashioned. Plain old fashioned has crisp edges but was somewhat dry Red velvet cake was dry and not very flavorful. Since they changed owners this place has went downhill in my opinion. I have been a loyal customer here for years, but recently I had an unpleasant experience. I ordered a ham, egg, bacon, jalapeño and egg croissant. On three occasion I was charged 3 different prices. $5.95,$6.25 and $5.50. This happened within 3 days. I know inflation is high but thats ridiculous. I now go to Cherri's donuts and it's better friendly service and consistent prices. read more

I think this place recently became under new management or something because I don't see the same workers (especially one really rude lady that used to talk to me like she knew me). The people that Work here now are all really nice and like to give a smile and ask how your day was. Nothing above and beyond, but also not bad at all. I've been coming to this donut shop for 15 years. Out of the local donut shops I must say this has always been my favorite. I love that it is open 24 hrs. Convenient for a hot chocolate or a coffee either for a late night snack or to start off an early morning drive. I think it could be updated a little on the inside and sometimes there are sum bums hanging outside, and some drunks coming in and out of the liquor store that is next door. Came here during a short break at work, because I was really craving chocolate glaze donuts. Parking lot was packed and it was really crowded inside to my surprise. The shop was clean with friendly workers. I'm just so sad that I came specifically for a chocolate glaze donut and I told the worker this and even pointed at it and he accidentally gave me regular glaze. I shouldve paid more attention when he was grabbing it. Opening up the bag when I was already back at work and seeing the regular glaze & not the chocolate glaze I wanted really sucked. This was my childhood donut shop. It used to always be so fresh, clean and had friendly staff. NOW... The staff is rude (except the morning crew) and they never have any variety. They have some issue with serving ice cream after 7pm and when you ask, the lady gets so mad you would think you offended her. I love love love their bran muffins, so I endure their crappy customer service but the donuts are gross and so is the staff at times (their attitudes) I now take my business to Cherys donuts on Orr & day. I had my first apple fritter from a Winchell's, but the donuts here are ridiculous.
