A Welcome Addition to West Whittier I visit this Philz Coffee location whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and it has consistently been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and they're especially helpful when I have questions about the menu. I don't actually purchase coffee that often. When I do, it's usually either Philz or a local mom-and-pop coffee shop/hole-in-the-wall. So whenever I walk into a Philz, there's usually something new for me to try or ask about. On my most recent visit, I also realized I had somehow created two Philz accounts. After placing my order, I asked the cashier if they could be merged, and they kindly provided me with the appropriate customer service email rather than leaving me to figure it out myself. I also asked about their cold brew. I ordered my usual Honey Haze, but I wanted to treat my grandmother to a coffee as well. She loves coffee and drinks it black -- usually a medium roast that she brews in a big batch at home. The cashier recommended the Mission Cold Brew, so I decided to give it a try for her. I delivered it to my grandmother later that day, knowing she would probably save it for the next morning since caffeine too late in the day can interfere with her sleep. I followed up with her the next day, and she loved it! That recommendation definitely earned some points with both of us. The Whittier location is consistently clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate having Philz as another coffee option in West Whittier and The Groves Whittier. It's always nice when a new addition to the neighborhood actually feels like a welcome one. read more

I decided to pop in for a coffee today and had the most pleasant experience! Enough to leave a review Service: amazing. I'm an unsweetened iced cold brew/Americano gal with a new obsession for espresso tonics so rarely find myself at a Philz. Allison was at the register and was so patient with my order since I was unfamiliar with their menu. I've literally only tried their mint mojito since that's what they're known for! When I received my order, I was kindly educated on different coffees Philz offers by Yamile! She was so knowledgeable about everything and my cold brew was delicious. I was having a weird day so the positive encounter helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you ladies! Great coffee shop to relax in the morning or a mid day pick me up. I usually order through the app since it's just more convenient and it gives me an estimated time to pick up. ( it has always been ready since doing this). Just because the first time I went to order in person it did take a while. I love how they add new drinks often, always like to try something new. The outdoor seating is great to relax or do work. The inside is small but love how it's always fresh inside especially because of this hot weather. read more

My aunt moved to the community where Philz is at. We decided to give it a shot because we love coffee and the palace looked really nice and calm. We were greeted right away and they offered us samples which is pretty cool, then they explained the coffee flavors and favs they offer. We decided to try two hot and a cold drink, and the cashier mentioned that before they close the lid they have us try it in case we want to change anything on em. This was new to us and we tried them and one of the drinks did need more sugar and they happily added it until we liked it. The ambiance is nice and quiet lots of tables indoors and outdoors with umbrellas. I will stop by here everyone I visit my aunt in Whittier. Nice place and good prices! read more

This Philz Coffee is like the remote worker's dream coffee shop. The staff are extremely friendly, it's not crazy busy, and the tables are organized more like desks with wall chargers, usb, and usb-c chargers for each seat available to guests. I love that the temperature is somehow perfect too, rather than being too cold like most coffee shops. After ordering my coffee (the signature Mojito is mouth watering) I sat at a corner desk and was the most productive I've ever been. Amazing. read more

I don't usually write a review this fast but we came out here about an hour ago and the customer service was the worst I've EVER had at a coffee shop, absolutely disgusting. There was 4 or 5 people working there and only 2 customers sitting in the Lobby that already had their coffee. We went right to the counter, a guy was there. He looked at us and just walked away, my wife said he said hello but I didn't hear anything. We waited and waited, then that same guy walked out the door, another worker came up and proceeded to do some work at the register in front of us, no acknowledgment... not even a look. Then she walked away and went over to the other workers and proceeded to chat with them. Am I invisible?? There was 3 of us at the counter! What the heck!!! We waited at the counter maybe 5 minutes?? Maybe 7?? Then we just talked and decided to just leave. As we walked out the door we past them and they didn't even bat an eye. What really pissed me of was once we got into our car. One of them came out a proceeded to sit outside and drink from water bottle and scroll on her phone. I'm so done here. I will now use this place as a place to never come to. read more

There's plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor seating! Philz coffee is phenomenal! I got the mocha Tesora. I'm not one to order flavored coffee drinks, but man... it's sooooo worth it. I was craving the Honey Daze and came here. It was empty. Location is good but parking can be tough. The place itself is clean. Upon walking in you are greeted by the amazing scent of freshly grounded coffee beans. We ordered the honey daze. I gave 4 star as the drinks took awhile to come out even though it wasn't busy at all and there were at least 3-4 staff onsite. read more

It's like a MUST HAVE. I can't drive by Philz without getting me my favorite drink Mint Mojitos. Rain or not.... I'm getting it. The place was decent size. Worker was pleasant. It was close to closing so they seem exhausted and ready to get out. I definitely know how they feel when it's the end of your shift heheh. Stopped by for some coffee after lunch. There was a short line. This is my first time trying Philz coffee, and I heard a lot of good things about this chain. They offered a few coffee options, which is pretty self explanatory. We ordered the honey haze and the mocha treora. The honey haze tasted amazing! It was a little sweet, and it feel refreshing on a hot day. The mocha treora is not my favorite. It tasted a little bitter because of the chocolate flavor. This is a newly built Philz and wao I am SO happy they are expanding their locations! This is now the closest Philz Coffee to me :-) Parking was super easy to find, the parking lot of HUGE. The building looks absolutely beautiful and super new. My friend complained about the long wait but I personally did not have an issue with waiting long -- I got my drink pretty quickly after placing my order. First time at a Philz. Really enjoyed the whittier location. Plenty of seating (indoor/outdoor), beautiful landscape and friendly service. Loved that when your name is called they have you taste drink before it's yours. I ordered a black tea with honey. When I tasted it I questioned the tea taste and was told it was their black tea. I accepted it but after a few tastes opened up cup to find mint leaves inside. Nice touch but should have been asked when ordering if mint works for me. Unfortunately I have a sensitivity to mint. Located in a beautiful brick building which seemed like it was once a church or some type of historical building in the city of Whittier and across the street from Rodeo 72. We entered and immediately noticed how packed it was for a Saturday morning around 11:30am. I noticed the seasonal menu and chose to order the tiramisu iced with medium sweetness and medium sized. The drink was filled to the brim, much to my dismay because I ended up spilling a little when we walked outside as I took a sip to try and cover the paper cup with the paper lid I had requested. However, I considered the excess to be a bonus and or my money's worth for being filled so high. Make sure to download the app if you haven't already to apply the code for points and receive for future purchases. This coffee spot opened up near my house so I decided to stop in and check it out. The location has a cool outside patio where one can sit under an umbrella an and enjoy a drink, coffee, baked good, or food. There was a long line so I downloaded their app and placed an order. From start to finish I enjoyed every bit of my visit. The entire staff is so enthusiastic and friendly and makes sure you leave happy! I really appreciate their kindness. The vibe in here is just as colorful and happy, cool murals and lighting, and a mantra of spreading a sense of adventure and positivity. I haven't even gotten to the coffee! I miss the old days of Philz in SF when you ordered your drink with the barista and they made sure it's to your liking before you checked out. I'm always suprised to hear other people refer to Philz as a chain but that is what it has turned into. This is the closest Philz to me so I go here by necessity. The iced rose and mojito are my favorites but some of the baristas don't make it as well as others. This applies to other locations though so I can't say this is only a problem at Whittier. Philz def doesn't have the consistency in thier drinks compared to the big coffee chains. This location is clean though, and everyone has been friendly enough. read more

I ordered a drink and forgot to ask for no ice. I asked them to not add ice in my drink before they made my drink. They made my drink and added ice so I asked for them to remove it. The ice was removed and they didn't even bother filling my cup with my drink so I basically paid for a medium drink, but ended up getting a small drink. read more

Such a beautiful place to get a coffee. This Philz coffee is in a restored historic brick building with a big patio space perfect for savoring a coffee and chatting with friends. There is also seating inside and a small computer workspace. I had the philtered soul ice coffee, black, no sweetener. It didn't need anything. The flavor of the coffee was complex and delicious. Not to impressed with this store anymore. The last two times I've been in the past two weeks, baristas have been rude. Not having extra cream or sugar out on the counters like every other coffee shop is inconvenient. So when customers ask for something like Stevia or cream, they shouldn't feel like it's a huge deal. Been coming to this location since they opened nearby, and it's way better than that big chain mermaid place where it's all sugar and barely any coffee. Sure, they might mess up a drink once in a while, but honestly it's never enough for me to be mad about. From flavored drinks to straight coffee hot or iced I've tried almost everything, and it's consistently good. I love that they switch up flavors every couple of months and roll out limited time features it keeps things interesting. That said... please bring back the Nutty Caramel Nirvana every now and then because that drink was delicious. My go to is the Philtered Soul, though how I order it really just depends on my mood. Only thing to note: if you come early and order ahead for pickup, parking is easy around 7-8am. By about 9am it gets a little harder since the lot is shared with other popular businesses. Philz are far and in between, so it's been a while since I've been. 2 medium lattes were about $13ish- not too bad. The iced Honey Haze was better than the iced Gingersnap. The service was great and the barista even asked me to taste my drink before leaving to ensure that it was sweet enough. I love the wall paintings inside. I'll def be back... First time trying out Philz Coffee, we certainly didn't know what to expect. First of all, plenty of free parking. Their building looks so beautiful. Gorgeous little house. Spacious inside. Looks like it's very popular always line but it moves quickly. As we headed to the cashier, she was very friendly and attentive, very helpful in explaining to us how everything works, what was our choice of flavor. As we had mentioned that we are used to cafè lattes as in expressos, she did fail to let us know that there is no such thing as expressos. All their coffees are freshly brewed. Which is a big difference to expresso lovers. I did give 5 stars because we didn't encounter any problems in service wise And wouldn't be fair if I lower stars cause am not a fan of brewed coffee. It wasn't our thing but this place is definitely great for those who love freshly brewed coffee. They have amazing choices for you to customize your own drink. You can also mobil order and they'll have tour drink ready when you come in. For moms out there, their restroom does have a changing table if you need it for your baby That is a plus! read more
