We have preferred Sunny for our produce needs largely. It is a cramped store but it has good quality and a variety of produce - especially if you are looking for Indian produce. We have been here many times and never had any complaints with any of the products. The store is quite large but not that well organized and marked properly, so one may have to scramble around to find something specific. On top of that, I haven't found the staff here very helpful or even knowledgable. On the floor, the staff is pretty much non-existent, so if you have any question, you need to walk up all the way to the cashier. This is also not a good store for you if you are looking for vegan products. Overall, a good store but only for a very specific need. read more

I have been shopping here for a few years and I really did love it. But, for the past several months I have been buying the fruits and vegetables and it gets spoiled within one day. I also spotted mold on the berries and they still sold it but at a cheaper price. I don't want to stop shopping here and I hope they start being more aware of the quality of the food they sell. read more

This place has horrible customer service. The cashiers are arrogant and have no respect for what the customer is saying. I came here to visit my parents from the US, and I know the trip on my card will not work in Canada. Which is why I carry two pieces of photo ID with me to use my credit cards here. Customer service, the manager, gave me false stories of how the machine will not let them swipe my card. After much debate they finally swipe the card only to realize they could have saved 20 minutes of my time along with theirs by listening to what I was trying to tell them. For the neighborhood their prices are not the cheapest. They do however have decent selection, for all ethnic food. Will try avoiding this place like the plague whenever possible. read more

it is a good place to shop but, their shopping carts are so dirty and broken that you don't want to buy anything from there. I don't know why public health never notice their carts. I complaint to customer service several times but who cares. I believe since they opened the store they never clean/wash their carts. Much better than the Ravel Road location! Very clean, much larger, not so crowded. and - catering to the ethnic makeup of Rexdale - lots of South Asian and Caribbean offerings as well as a Halal meat counter. I wish this location was nearer to me - I'd shop here more frequently. Checkers were also very friendly here. read more

Very very very bad customer service. My husband bought a pack of dates today which was priced 5.99...but the cashier charged 11.99. My husband while coming back home noticed it and went back but the supervisor didn't adjust the payment rather do very bad behaviour with him. We are done with you sunny foodmart. Inexpensive super market. Halal meat section offers good quality meat. Cash area is very congested. They tried to cram too many items in a small space. It gets really crowded during the weekends and becomes hard to walk around. Another problem i face is driving out on to Albion and making a left turn. Albion road is so busy it can take upto 5 -6 minutes before you can make the left turn. A traffic light should be installed. read more

I shop at Sunny Food Mart on Albion Road Regularly. I am a weekly shopper. Today, sometime after noon I had the pleasure of shopping there again, until I went into the Halal Butcher Shop inside the store. I like the meat counter there. Today I saw a gorgeous Veal Blade Steak, weighing in at about 5 lbs. Gorgeous it would have been on my grill. But I could not get served. There was one customer, me and 1 employee working behind the counter. I asked politely for customer service and the man looked at me and went back to work. He was busy cutting chicken. So I waited a few more minutes. Asked again for service and he looked at me and said no that he was busy and he went back to work. I waited a few moments longer and thought well maybe when he finished up what he is doing he will serve me. I wanted that veal! But nope Nothing. In fact a women walked into the butcher area and he immediately served her. Wow I left, went to customer service to complain. Got nothing there so I left all my groceries and left. Have called the store to complain and got no where. the lady at customer service proceeded to tell me she would tell her manager. I asked for the manager to call me back. She said no. So here is my review. Customer service is the most important aspect when it comes to shopping. I look for service. I want service. I spend my hard earned dollars and I should get at least minimal service. They have pissed this chef off. Do Not Shop at this store. Rude, Ignorant and solely focused only on making $ not on helping customers. ON my list of Never Ever will I shop there or any of their stores. Tell the world I say! Sunny Food Mart.
