This place is fantastic!! Service was stellar and we received our food quickly (especially on a busy opening weekend!) and the food was absolutely fantastic. Visit right away!!! The menu has a mix of elevated classics and creative, soon-to-be classic dishes. Everyone should find something they'll love here. For example, they serve their steak and eggs with an in-house jalapeño infused butter that adds a beautiful heat to the entire dish. They also have breakfast nachos, which just feel like a decadent way to start a day (especially if you have a hangover!). The candied bacon was a highlight for me: sweet and peppery at the same time. We aren't in the South, but you'll swear you are when you eat it! The drink menu is also superb, and unlike anything you'll find outside of LA and SF. Fruit Loop Milk Punch brings an element of whimsy to an upscale classic cocktail (and wow, what a labor intensive drink, I bet!!! You can tell that they love what they do!!!) and options like mimosa flights (with orange, guava, and pineapple mimosas) will guarantee this venue as Visalia's premier brunch venue. Food is amazingly good that's the only thing four hostesses we ask for a table for three. They literally see us holding our two yr old seat us and don't even offer a high chair. Then our server doesn't come to us for ten min. We ask to seat somewhere else because we don't have a high chair. Maybe we shouldn't expect that unless we ask. Whatever so we order everything my drink takes tens min they never offer a refill on the soda. Idk if they don't have anything for kids we were never offered anything they never even said where the kids menu is. Now our food takes twenty mins it's not that busy the owner is talking to people at the bar he notices our food taking forever and never says anything to us but runs to the back and our food is out. Server checked on us once after I wanted another drink but by the time she came food was already finished. And we think our waitress was loaded af. I've never written a yelp review before so you know this restaurant had to suck for me to write this. SO bummed about this place! Drinks and aesthetic are so cute (one star for each) BUT literally got there early with a reservation and pretty much empty and still had the worst service I've ever experienced in my life! Our food was disgusting (don't order the chilaquiles they were soggy and filled with liquid) ordered over medium and the server put it in as over easy. Breakfast burrito was missing the meat. We got our food and then waited 25+ minutes until our crappy server came back so we could try and get what we actually ordered and she couldn't give a shit. Literally tried to get her attention multiple times but she avoided eye contact and moved at the pace of a snail since other tables that got there the same time were in and out in half the time. By the time we got the corrected burrito we were over it because the service and experience was so bad and took it to go but I guarantee they spit in the food so it went in the trash. Only saving grace was the manager came over and comped the meal because it wasn't even eaten but she was not apologetic for the experience. Definitely skip this if trying to go to brunch in Visalia. We tried this restaurant for the first time, and I have to say we enjoyed it very much, reservations are recommend, but we didn't have one. That wasn't an issue, we were sat in about 10 minutes and it was worth the wait. We had their breakfast sandwich which was incredible. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and the coffee was fresh. Our waiter was very accommodating and friendly. The interior has been updated from the old lamp liter diner with a fresh modern theme. However, the butter was smoky and savory, and the pancake itself even tasted a little savory. The description in the menu very much leaned into like vanilla whipped butter, so this was unexpected. It was OK if that's the vibe you're looking for, but I was disappointed. Dining partner had the breakfast tacos They were very bland. The salsa was the only flavor on the plate and it was way too spicy. No other condiments were offered. The potatoes were really big which I know is a weird criticism, but it means that the crispy to fluffy potato ratio was very off. We also ordered an orange juice with came with ice. We went there this morning for our first visit. The service was excellent and the facility is very welcoming and open. We ordered their pancake breakfast which includes either bacon or sausage. The pancakes come with a honey-vanilla butter. This sounded great, but the taste was not to our liking. It is a special "smoked" taste. When we told the waitress, she immediately got the chef and brought her to our table. The chef was so kind and explained to us the process of the honey-vanilla butter. It is definitely a "speciality" item, but we simply did not care for it. We were immediately given another option for breakfast and chose a pancake with plain butter and syrup. It was fabulous. We will definitely return as the service is second to none, and their chef is such a kind woman who takes a great deal of pride in her work. Give this place a try! read more

One at our table didn't get served until After the rest of us were finishing our meal. Because there were 7 of us a mandatory 18% tip was required. It took a while for the waitress to take our food order and then when she dropped off the food we didn't see her for another 30 minutes until I waved down another waitress who wouldn't even stop, just said "I'll get your waitress". Decided to try out Sunny Hyde Up for our family's weekly Saturday breakfast. We were the first ones in the door at 8 am and were promptly seated. The remodel of this space is nice. It is sleek and modern and upscale. To go with that sleek modern look, they played club music the whole time on the sound system which is I did not care for. Just a personal preference. Our server took our drink order and came back after awhile with our coffee and alcoholic drinks. The server promised one person in our group that the fruit loop milk punch tasted just like eating a spoon-full of fruit loops. It did not. It tasted like a tangy nondescript punch of some sort. The shumosa flight was ok but was made with store-bought juices so nothing special. The coffee came out with a couple of little cups of International Delight vanilla coffee creamer. This was a red flag and I feel any place that serves good coffee would not serve their coffee with flavored coffee creamer as the assumed choice of the customer. I was correct. It was bad coffee, Farmer Brothers or something. It had a slightly ashtray after taste. For food, some of us ordered from the starter menu for their meal and some ordered from the main menu for their meal. All together we ordered the spicy linguisa and potatoes, the chorizo nachos, the classic breakfast, the breakfast bruschetta, and the tuna benedict. We waited probably 20 minutes for our food to come out after ordering and we watched as many other tables got their food besides ours. My father-in-law is diabetic so he asked another server who was passing by our table for a small glass of juice as his blood glucose monitor was going off with low blood sugar levels. It did not show up. Luckily the food started to be delivered to the table about 5 minutes after he had asked for the juice. When our food finally came out, our server had no idea whose food was whose even though he took the order. One of the plates did not come out and the server did not come back to the table for 10 minutes. Once he finally came out we asked where the missing plate was. He went to check and apparently the chef did not make it. That plate finally came out about 15 minutes after we brought the issue up to our server's attention. The rest of us ate cold food because we waited for all food to be delivered. Here is what was thought about the food...The linguisa and potatoes that is advertised as crispy potatoes was not a good. The linguisa was ok but the potatoes were anything but crispy and they were grilled with onions and jalapeños as advertised but also had pickled onions on top and it was all tossed in a sweet sauce that was like a steak sauce reduction or fajita sauce. The potato pieces were very big and had to be cut into half or thirds to get them to a manageable eating size. Some were not cook fully. It was served with a slightly sweet chili oil of sorts that was lacking in flavor. I did not care for it or the dish and ate a couple of bites to curb any hangryness but left most of it. The chorizo nachos were ok but the cheese sauce on it did not mesh will with the eggs and queso fresco. My daughter ate a few bites because she was hungry but left most of it. The breakfast bruschetta is advertised as an english muffin with the toppings. It came out deconstructed basically. It was 3 muffin halves with one topping on each. One had cottage cheese, one had the tomato confit, and one had the avocado. I don't know what they were thinking with that business. My wife scrapped all toppings onto one and ate it. She said it was tasty but it was essentially toppings for one half of english muffin spread across 3 halves and the english muffins were not toasted very much so the crispy texture was missing. The classic breakfast was nothing special and the linguisa was just ok. My brother-in-law said the tuna benedict was very tasty however. That was the one bright spot I guess. The table next to us on one side waited forever for their food and they were visibly upset. A server started delivering food to them but it was not their order and she looked confused and took it away. They finally got their food as we were getting ready to leave. I think those 3 people waited like 35 minutes to get their food after ordering. The table on the other side of us got the biscuits and gravy and I watched them shrug as they tasted it for the first time. The biscuits were small and dense and the gravy was thin and not sticking to the biscuit. The server notified us that we would not be charged for the plate that was forgotten about but the bill was still $140 (before tip) for 4 people then. The quality of service was low and from the hostess to the servers, it had the feel of people who were not seasoned workers of the food service industry and they were not trained well. I usually would give a place a second chance if the service or food missed the mark but not when both do. I don't see myself going back. read more

We walked in for a table of 2, were sat immediately and served water by the very nice male host. There were 2 other 2 tops sat right next to us about 10 minutes after we arrived. The 2 other 2 tops received their drinks and their orders taken. All the while the entire time, 20 minutes, we were completely ignored by multiple wait staff who walked right past us and never once even asked if we wanted anything to drink. Very VERY bad service. Super disappointed because the place was really cute and now lost service because of the incompetent wait staff. We heard them arguing over who had which table and in spite of knowing and seeing we weren't being served and doing their jobs to figure it out, they instead ignored us and provided zero service.
