Following a disappointing experience nearby, we decided to give this place a try -- and we're so glad we did. The 50's-themed atmosphere was warm and inviting, and even with a 15-minute wait, the staff managed everything smoothly. We were seated, served drinks immediately, and our order arrived within 15-20 minutes -- perfectly timed and delicious, especially the house crispy pancakes. The service was exceptional; our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks stayed filled throughout the meal. As first-time guests, we were thoroughly impressed and will absolutely return. We left satisfied, grateful, and happy to leave a generous tip in appreciation of such great service. Truly enjoyed every bite!

Thank you Laura (owner) and Lisa our talented server for another delicious adventure in Visalia. Service was definitely 5-star. Big plates of great diner food - biscuits and gravy, home fries, waffles, crisp bacon, pancakes, onion rings, burgers and more. Classic diner decor and lots of kitschy art on the walls. Skilled short-order chef Abraham is a star performer. Clearly a locals favorite, we were happy to be part of the crowd. Simple things mean so much. I ordered a very basic eggs with bacon and potatoes. I asked for eggs over medium - perfect! Bacon extra crips - perfect! And country potatoes - red potatoes with bell peppers and onion asked to be slightly crisp - also perfect! Did I leave hungry - hardly. And my husband who enjoyed a waffle with eggs and bacon - also perfect!

Holy food. Prepare to be stuffed walking out of here. Service was so nice, food was everything you'd want from a classic breakfast, and the ambiance is unmatched. A real classic.

You want pancakes? Biscuits? Hash Browns crispy? Omelette? Dimples Diner does all of these perfectly. The menu is classic diner and the prices are good. Their coffee is a little too "diner" style for me. If you can't stomach bad coffee, then get an OJ. The walls are full of amusing vintage posters and photos. There are other vintage pieces around like gas pumps and toys. The exterior looks like a classic East coast rail car diner. They have a wraparound neon sign on the facade but I heard it doesn't work? All the seating is red vinyl booths and counter seating. Their mascot is a riff on Betty Boop, hance the name "Dimples" There's plenty of parking in their lot but sometimes it's so busy that the lot is full!? This is also a hub of the community where many of the guests are regulars who chat with the owner and other members of the staff. This place was recommended to us by our tow truck driver from West Coast Towing. He has lived in Visalia all his adult life. I highly recommend West Coast Towing and Dimples Diner for a taste of Visalia.

Come out and support your local small business. Staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Ambiance is pretty laid back. They have parking around the corner and the wait was probably less than 30mins. The menu was a little confusing to me, but just ask for clarification. Our waitress was very helpful in clarifying any misunderstanding on the menu. Breakfast for 3 was about $71 (with different side orders) If you're on a road trip and need to grab breakfast, stop by here. Note: food is a little on the greasy side, so be aware if you have a sensitive stomach

    Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich

If you want old fashioned diner food, this is the place. Everything I've ever ate here has been delicious. Chicken Friend Steak is great! Burgers are juicy and delicious. Today was the ultimate breakfast sandwich with seasoned French fries and I was in a food coma after. So bomb.

This is half of the chicken fried steak and hash browns with biscuit and gravy.

Had chicken fried steak w8th hash browns and scrambled eggs with a side of biscuit and gravy . Share the plate with my husband this was my portion very tasty and super filling.

Grimy table edge once was shiny chrome.

The good: My steak burrito with fresh house made salsa was very good. The Bad: We waited an 1/2 hour in a hot waiting area with little to no AC & broken chairs. More Bad: This place needs a good cleaning & a refresh on its faded worn & missing decor. I hope the owner puts some money into it so the good food can be enjoyed.

Great old school diner! The vibes are vintage. The food is great with large portions. Our favorite was the french toast and hash browns! Service was quick and the wait also went fast. If you are looking for a classic diner with griddle food, this is it!

Great place for breakfast. Place is back to old times diner. The waitress was GREAT, she got our order correct first time. Food was very good, make sure to ask how many eggs the order has you might have to split it. One veggie omelette was four eggs.

We were in Visalia Over the weekend and found this diner. When we arrived it was pretty busy so there was some wait. We were finally seated and it was so cute inside and the server waa super sweet. The food was good we had some waffles, omelette and some chicken fingers. Everything was pretty good.

Every time we go to dimples diner, the staff is so warm and welcoming. It is such a cozy diner with good, comfort food and nice people. Definitely recommend!

The food is great, the service is awesome and the atmosphere is cozy and chill. Great place to go eat and not to expensive either.

The interior is modernized (not overdone), clean, and welcoming, with a nice quote on the wall that adds character. I ordered the breakfast burrito ($11). It's simple but very well seasoned (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cheddar cheese). No meat, which I was craving, but the herbs and spices definitely carry the flavor. Not sure what they use, but it's tasty. Portion-wise, it's a solid medium-to-large burrito and comes split in half, so it could easily be shared. I've seen bigger burritos elsewhere, but this one is filling enough. That said, $11 feels a bit pricey for something so simple. I totally understand inflation, but I think adding a protein option like bacon, ham, or sausage would really elevate it and make the price feel more justified. Service was quick; about five minutes total and the cashier was very friendly. I mentioned it was my first time there and that I'm part of Yelp Elite. I kind of wish there had been a bit more engagement at that point, like suggesting a popular item or checking with the manager about anything for Yelpers. Not a dealbreaker at all, just a missed opportunity to go the extra mile. Overall, good food, chill environment, friendly service, and efficient turnaround.

Especially considering, the "from the grill" section did not come with a side had to be ordered separate and food came out lukewarm but flavor was good (except the mash potato's they were bland). Drinks were good. Additional note: having bathroom lights that are on sensors, don't work well for people in stalls. Nestled in Visalia, Valhalla isn't trying to be a Michelin-starred temple of gastronomy and that's exactly why it's a masterpiece. As a food critic, I look for soul. I look for efficiency. As amateur food photographer/stylist, I look for that "honest plate." Valhalla hits the trifecta with a warm, "hygge" (Danish coziness) atmosphere that makes locals feel like family and travelers feel like they've finally found home. The Aesthetic: Rustic Hygge The vibe is "Elevated Roadside Charm." It's clean, bright, and unpretentious. The wood accents and subtle Danish motifs pay homage to the heritage of the Solvang-style roots without being kitschy. * Stylist's Note: The food here doesn't need tweezers or edible gold. It's all about the texture of a golden-brown crust and the vibrant contrast of a red lingonberry jam against a snowy dusting of powdered sugar. It looks exactly how you want comfort food to look: generous and real. The Menu: Scandinavian Roots Meet California Fresh The menu is a masterclass in "less is more." They aren't cutting corners on the fats or the flours; they are honoring the recipes passed down through generations. The Verdict: Whether you're a local regular or a wanderer looking for a rest, Valhalla is a mandatory pit stop.
