We dined here on a Sunday morning around 11-11:30AM. We waited about 20 minutes for a table but that was expected as we were informed when we got there. Although the food here was good, the atmosphere was chaotic. The floor staffing was not able to service the dining room and the delegation of duties appeared haphazard (two servers working the counter as well as part of the floor). We waited about 10 minutes and had to call over a server because no one had come to take the drink order. That server could have corrected this but instead said that we were not in her area and our waitress had broken a cup and cut herself. She could have been more gracious and taken our drink order. Our server came over a couple of minutes later and apologized, but she seemed overwhelmed. We received our coffee and later our food, but I asked for milk for my coffee on three occasions before any was brought to me. The food was good and was served fairly promptly but no refills on coffee were offered and when we asked for refills there our request was acknowledged but never fulfilled. When we went to the counter to pay our check, our server was unable to make change for a $52.08 bill from $62.08. This could be a good local place based on the food, but the service is such that I cannot recommend it. read more

Had a delicious breakfast with my husband. I had the special, chili verde omelet with country fried potatoes and peppers. He had a bacon and cheese omelet with crispy hash browns. Coffee was great, water too. Not that tap water taste. Restaurant was clean with exceptional service as always. Two breakfasts plates with two coffees was $47. I've lived in this area for 57 yrs and I just had the best burger yet! Juicy and seasoned perfectly! I tasted all of my Dad's breakfast (burger steak) and that was delish too! We topped it off with one huge perfect pancake! The staff was just as sweet as can be and we felt like family by the time we left! We went to my company Christmas party in visalia this weekend and stayed at the Marriott The next morning we were really hungry and wanted to try something local and delicious... We yelped breakfast and found this place. I am so glad we did because it was delicious! The vibe was warm and the place was packed. I didn't get the waitresses name but she was awesome and so friendly. I ended up getting the chicken and waffles but got no pictures... I guess I was really hungry. My handsome got an omelette... it was delish! He said we need to go back there in the near future and I have to agree. It's a nice place for a family to go enjoy some of granny's country breakfast. Updating to 4 Stars.. My parents went here in My recommendation & they said they literally ended up leaving because it was so unpleasant :( They had breakfast elsewhere.. They stated it took a Really long time for their food, and apparently the waitress Lost their food order... so my parents Hadn't got served.. she didn't apologize for the wait, wasn't pleasant about checking on things, she just kept insisting everyone else was the blame I understand we can get busy, but working under pressure and still being able to provide Great Customer Service is a Must, that's literally why I recommended this place lol I rated this a 5 last time because we Loved Everything about it. MUCH WOW! Nothing short of amazing, best service, amazing food, fast service, hot delicious coffee, great atmosphere. I couldn't ask for more. We were seated by a beautiful tall blonde waitress with a smile that just projects love, She was so sweet and attentive. I was wearing some birthday glasses and she saw them and she wished me Happy Birthday and made my morning amazing. The food was delicious, everyone there so nice. We were passing through from LA on our way to Sequoia. We will be back here anytime we are anywhere near this area. How can you portion size this way for $16.99!? This is atrocious! I was used to the "semi-skimpy" portions they give you when you order to-go. But this: this was just downright rude. When my mom is saying "they give you more when you eat there." I'm thinking; that's not right. I'm a paying customer, you give me the same portion size as someone who eats there. We're both paying the same amount. Mind you, the only reason the eggs look more full, is because Jess gave me her portion. Other than that it would've looked as skimpy as everything else. I used to love coming here. Only spot with Corned Beef Hash! Hashbrowns were always my favorite! Sourdough toast. I honestly thought I was in for a treat this morning. Then the food arrives and I lift the container, felt like I was holding an empty container. Just air! Open it and wow! This is what you give for $16.99!? This is absolute Bull! Just lost my business. I can go to Buttermilk Biscuit Bar and pay the same for more food. Which hurts me to say, cause I've been a HUGE fan of this spot for years! I've written great reviews about this place! Well.. here we are. If you decide to eat here, the staff is super friendly, hopefully you get more for your buck than getting it to-go apparently. I just can't believe this. Great place for simple breakfast done right. Service was fast but not friendly. Very transactional but they also only had two servers for all tables so I extend a bit of grace for that. Although, the food was delicious unfortunately the price is quite high for the portion amount they give you. We both ordered the papa or the big papa, I don't recall the name. We decided to try this restaurant after seeing so many great reviews (4.5 stars!), and we were really excited to give it a shot. We were seated right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. It took about 15 minutes to receive our drinks, and by that time, several other guests who arrived after us had already ordered, eaten, and even paid. Our order took around 25 minutes to be taken, and my wife's meal had to be changed because her item wasn't available. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy and we took that into account. Still, considering how highly recommended this place is, the experience was disappointing. We're not the type to complain and always tip well, but our first visit didn't quite meet expectations. I was really looking forward to trying the chicken fried steak -- I'm a big fan of it -- but unfortunately, never got the chance. Small diner on the south east side of Visalia sporting some ultra country decor. Friendly staff and serviced rather quickly. Nice size portions for breakfast. They got a plus with grits on the menu. They were okay. The omelettes are a nice size and cooked the diner way! The food isn't outstanding but it's a lovely diner experience with great coffee and cool ambiance. Dropped in bright and early for breakfast at here. Wow definitely a hidden gem! The server who I believe is the owner was so friendly we carried a wonderful conversation . I ordered the ribeye steak breakfast with eggs and hash-browns and wheat toast. Very delish made perfectly ! I stopped by Granny's Country Cafe while visiting Visalia. It has a parking lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. It's your standard country diner with a menu that's pages worth. It has a homey vibe to it and it's one of those places that draws people from all different sects of society. I got the Chicken and Waffles and it was average. The waffle is on the thinner side and the chicken could use some seasoning. Best part of this diner was the service though. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive to our table.
