Came here for lunch after seeing all the 5 star reviews. I have to say I was a bit dissapointed, maybe my expectations were too high. First there is almost no seating, only 3 tables or so? Fine it is a small place but seriously you can barely walk in much less eat in here. I would view this place as takeout only. I ordered the lemonade on this hot day based on many good reviews. I was shocked to find it was very watered down and had no flavor. Um this is supposed to be good lemonade? Maybe the heat melted the ice too fast or something? I got the new chicken pesto panini. My sandwich arrived piled high with spinach and very little chicken and pesto. I like spinach but if you will be featuring that as a main ingredient than say so and don't call it a chicken pesto, call it spinach pesto or something. There were only a couple small pieces of chicken in my $14+ sandwich. Anyway it is ok but nothing that special. If you want a good panini at less cost and with more seating, head up the road to escogelato. read more

Wonderful family eatery with an excellent selection of salads, panini and handcrafted drinks. My favorite is "The Works" breakfast sandwich. The bacon and avocado panini with a fresh-squeezed lemonade is a close second! They also have excellent desserts. Owners Bob and Kate provided bite-sized cookie favors for our wedding, which were a big hit among attendees. They are wonderful people who consistently serve good food! Delicious panini and coffee in a cute unlikely spot.

I loved this little hole in the wall place. It was perfect. I was alone, eating my avocado, egg and cheese panini. As I sat outside at one of their outdoor tables, I watched as a family came and ate happily as they talked about their plans for the day, a couple of friends came in to catch up on old times and everyone had smiles and laughter was emanating from the building. Stopped off at the Farmers Market in Escondido and had the most delicious sandwich of my life....

On my way home from Powey I looked up the best place to eat in Escondido. There are ALOT of reasons why Sunny Side is rated the #1 lunch spot in Escondido. As soon as you bite into your sandwich you know that your food was made with love. Its so tasty that you want the meal to never end. The owners make the food the way they want to. They run a kitchen that reminds me a lot of Nikki Giovanni's love poem "My house." Look it up if you want to see what I am talking about. I doubt you kind find better food or better service in Escondido. You will be thrilled you went out of your way to come here. And don't forget to get the cookies. This place is absolutely fantastic! I visited the Sunny Side Kitchen on the recommendation of a friend, who sent me a picture of their meal. It looked delicious and she confirmed that it was, so I knew that I had to make the 30 minute drive to experience it for myself! I'm so glad that I did! The quality of the food was A+ and the customer service was awesome. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Stopped in for breakfast two weeks ago on a Saturday morning. Loved to see the interaction between the staff and customers. Everyone was super friendly and the food was delicious. My husband had the Tuscan Panini and I had the California Club breakfast sandwich. The perfect amount of food and a great blend of flavors. Decor is simple and inviting. I just moved to Escondido and I was looking for a lunch spot because I had the day off today. Yelp brought me here and I was definitely not disappointed!!! Service was excellent and food was yummy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my favorite soup of all time (TOMATO BISQUE) was the Soup du Jour so I obviously ordered it and it was awesome. Awesome food and nice staff. Lemonades are perfect, not too sweet or sour. We tried the tucson chicken panini which had a great depth of flavors and incredible sun dried tomatoes. We also tried the bacon avocado panini and added chicken to it which was phenomenal. The egg/cheese/ avocado can be ordered all day and can be dipped in delicious soup. We were visiting from out of town and found this place on yelp. The food and coffee was excellent for a great price. We got a breakfast panini and lattes. All the food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and staff was very friendly. We had our little dogs with us and everyone greeted them. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the decor is cute and cozy. Sunnyside helped us out with cookie party favors for our wedding and it was so so great! The cookies were awesome of course, but really we went to sunnyside originally for breakfast, and is was freaking awesome. We later had some panini and our minds were blown. These guys know how to cook delicious food. Long story short you should find some way to incorporate sunnyside into any event as their offerings are diverse and their talents are incredible.
