It's not an Ocean City family vacation without multiple trips to Kessel's! During our week at the…read moreshore, we visited Kessel's three times: takeout on our first night, ice cream mid-week, and an early dine-in dinner before heading home. As always, each of our three experiences this July were fantastic, with our last shining the most. We typically do take-out on night number one, and like in years past, the food is always ready on time and prepared as ordered. We ordered an array of items including Cheesesteaks, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Burgers, Grilled Cheese, Fries, and Onion Rings. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The line stretched around the side of the building the night we stopped for ice cream, but it moved quickly. Staff efficiently took orders, prepared cones and sundaes, and kept the line moving despite the large crowd. While take-out is always great from Kessel's, I will always prefer dining in! You really can't beat the old-school diner vibes and decor, and the service is outstanding. Julia, our server, did an incredible job with our party of 7. She was highly attentive, frequently checked in, and really added to our experience. My Cheesesteak Hoagie with hot peppers may have been my favorite thing I've ordered from Kessel's to date, but it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. The burgers and wraps are also solid choices. I also ordered a fresh Peach Sundae and I highly recommend! Julia even made my sundae herself in addition to waiting tables, and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. Absolutely picture-worthy! Kessel's is a cash-only establishment, but for seven people--including sandwiches, burgers, wraps, multiple orders of fries, and a few desserts--the total was just over $100. That's an incredible value especially at the Jersey Shore. Kessel's will always be a staple of our family vacations and continues to be a highlight for our nieces. If you've yet to experience breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just an ice cream sundae from this adorable, little, retro-feeling diner, please pay them a visit. I think you'll be glad you did.

It is normal to find oneself with a peculiar sense of being without time, and being within a coca-cola controlled dimension between ours and that of our forebears. It is crucial that you ignore any compunction to run screaming out the front door and onto the streets of Ocean City. I assure you, they are not there. What you see through those windows is an illusion to illicit comfort in your mortal mind. In actuality you have been removed to an extra-temporal imposition of Americana-kitsch. Once you have reconciled this fact and cleansed yourself of any unclean thoughts you may proceed to your booth, where you will order one cheeseburger and one strawberry milkshake. It is important that you order only these two items, as ordering any others will upset the delicate harmonics that weave our world with it. You will enjoy them. You will Pay. Only now will you be returned to our reality. It is an archaic anti-theft measure, but it is an effective one. You will leave. Be safe.

When we got there we were shooed away and in passing were told they closed at 8pm. When we tried to just let the worker know their hours are wrong on Google we were ignored and walked by multiple times. Until, a worker came over and explained to use we should just call in the future to check hours. We totally understood they were closed but we were just trying to let them know the hours were wrong so they could fix them so no one else had to go through what we did. After we left I then saw on Yelp it says they close at 7:30pm. Hours are inconsistent and confusing to figure out when they actually close. It is a shame because we love the food and always buy sauce when we come but the service we received today was really disappointing.

Unfortunately, after tonight we will never be going back, and I can't recommend it to anyone in good faith. The service we received was so so so disappointing. I would love for this place to improve and for this corner to find a home. At this rate, I just can't see it lasting until summer 2026. Summary below: - We ordered a few items for dinner, and received an estimate of 35-40 minutes. All good so far. - We show up after 40 minutes and nobody comes up to us at the counter for at least 5-6 minutes. Ok, fine. We tell them we're picking up and they go check on things. Keep in mind there are probably 4 people eating in this restaurant and no takeout line to speak of. - After a full hour they finally bring us a brown bag, and tell us it's all ready except for the chicken salad wrap we ordered, which they don't have on hand unfortunately. - "So when did you uncover this???" 10 minutes ago they say. Remember we've been here for 20. Would have been nice to know maybe when we ordered, or at least when we showed up 20 minutes ago?? - We say fine just grab us a Caesar salad, that should allow us to get out of here quickly. - After another 15 minutes (!) they finally bring us our Caesar salad. It has now been a total of 1:15 since our order. - After this ordeal they have the audacity to try to charge us an extra $15 on the bill!! When they tell me to swipe my card luckily I have the presence of mind to review things -- "um, this looks higher than I heard on the phone?" Sure enough, the total was incorrect and they tried to over-charge me. I really don't want to dump on The Grubb but it was just a sad sad experience and we were really so disappointed in the quality of service. It wasn't exactly overflowing with business on this night, and yet everyone seemed really overwhelmed and backed up (maybe understaffed or under-trained?). To make things worse, nobody was very apologetic or made much of an effort to make things right. We had such high hopes (the sandwiches are really great!) but after the worst takeout experience I've had on the island, I will never order from here again. :( - 6/21/2025

I'm hot, dressed only in sweat, lying on the floor of Dino's bathroom. I never knew Dino, but I am well familiar with his legacy. It all started back in 2017. My old buddy "D-FENS" we called him, because now he works for the DoD, and I stopped by the Seaville Institution that is Dino's one summer evening. I've never been the same since. If I think back, I'd wager I've housed upwards of 40 double cheese burgers with avocado over the course of the nine years since. Sometimes three per session. Anyway, at Dino's you will find something long forgotten in the annals of our age. They built the asylums to contain those who knew of its secret, to reeducate them, but at Dino's the truth still whispers to those with ears to hear. I am going now, back to room where they feed me that which was promised to me. Bless you all.

They do not take reservations even for larger parties, but we were seated immediately upon arriving. From the menu, the vibe, the layout, and the decor, everything about Dino's screamed diner. Lots of menu options to choose from, but everyone was set on seafood. We started with two orders of the Stuffed Mushrooms with Crabmeat. What a start to our meals. They were surprisingly delicious, diner or not! Our entrees came with a soup or salad, and two sides. My wife opted for the split pea soup while I upgraded to snapper soup for a $1 up charge. Both soups were very good as well, and the dollar up charge for the snapper soup was totally worth it. Most of us opted for some kind of broiled seafood platter. I ordered the broiled seafood combo which came with shrimp, scallops, flounder, deviled clam, and a crab cake. My wife chose the broiled scallops and flounder. While the crab cake and deviled clam were delicious, we both agreed the flounder, shrimp, and scallops were bland. As sides we had green beans, fried zucchini, baked potatoes, French fries, and mashed potatoes, most of which were underwhelming. My father-in-law's mashed potatoes came out barely warm, the marinara we requested for the zucchini tasted more like stewed tomatoes, and my baked potato was kind of soggy from being wrapped in foil. Seven of our dinners arrived fairly quickly. Our server, who was actually very good, informed me that someone bumped her tray and they needed to remake my entree. All good, I understand things happen, but my meal didn't come out until everyone else was almost finished eating so I felt rushed. I was offered ice cream or Jell-o as consolation which was a nice gesture, but not worth me accepting especially since we were all so stuffed from the huge portion sizes. I would 100% give Dino's another chance. There were definitive bright spots: stuffed mushrooms, soups, crab cakes, deviled clams, green beans. Next time I'd pass on the seafood and leave the diner food to the diner. Dino's was and I did not notice anybody else ordering seafood. Maybe just a rookie mistake on our part.

The Greek side salad was honestly one of the best I have had, the feta on top was generous and delicious, and the side pitas tied it all together nicely. My mom played kept it classic with the Greek salad, which she praised, and my dad got the classic cheeseburger and also loved it. Definitely excited to come back and try more!
