Been to SS Henderson road several times. Things I've noticed some cooks don't wear gloves! I notice that they cook up bacon to help during rush times which I believe is lazy and not needed. All meats should be cooked to order, it may take a little more time but your meal will hot and fresh. Waitresses vary in quality of service, some are excellent and some don't pay attention to details. Managers seem oblivious to my observations. SS Henderson needs attention. read more

I've been to other Sunny Street Cafes and this one was quite the disappointment. When we walked in, it wasn't busy so we got seated shortly after. Service was very slow and although the coffee is bottomless, that took a while to get refilled too. For our food order, I got the eggs Benedict with a side of fruit and the hollandaise sauce was very bland and underwhelming. I was also expecting a perfectly poached egg with a runny yolk and instead, it was overcooked with a hard yolk in the center which is not what you want for an eggs Benedict dish. In addition to that, it's hard to mess up a fruit salad right, but the fruit salad was gross too. It seems like they just let it sit under the heat lamp for a while because it was served WARM and the strawberries were wilted. My husband got the corned beef hash and that was tasty but they messed up his eggs too. He had ordered over medium eggs and you can see he received over hard eggs. read more

For starters, my wait time was quoted as 20 minutes, and I got my text 5 minutes later, which always puts me in a good mood. As soon as I sat down I was greeted by one of the best servers I've ever had, Hollie. She was friendly, courteous, and speedy! The food was very good. I had the summer berry waffle and it was delicious! Although it looked like it might be too sweet, it was the perfect level of fruity sweetness even with maple syrup on it! The eggs and hashbrowns were your standard breakfast place quality, but the waffle more than made up for it. The only thing I wish was improved is that my soda was too syrup-y. Decided to give Sunny Street Cafe a try as we were looking for a quick, casual spot to grab breakfast. This regional chain is your standard, run of the mill breakfast joint. We were seated quickly and served coffee as soon as we sat down. This location is located in a strip mall in the Upper Arlington area off of Henderson Rd. They have a good variety, with options for all types of palates. I wanted something on the healthier side, so my eyes were drawn to the 'Lite Bites' section. I ended up deciding on the 'power breakfast' -- scrambled egg whites, chicken sausage, fresh fruit & toast. I ended up substituting the fresh fruit for hash browns. The food arrived quickly, and our waitress did a great job of keeping our coffees topped off. But I must say, I was somewhat disappointed in my food. The egg whites had essentially no flavor, so I felt like I was just eating it for the texture, which was about as unappealing as it sounds. In hindsight, I should've loaded it up with hot sauce or asked for cheese to be included in it. The chicken sausage was so-so, but the hash browns were really good and had a decent amount of crispiness. Overall, this definitely hit the mark of being quick and casual, but the food in my opinion was a bit of a let down. However, the other two people I ate with both enjoyed their meals, so I may have just ordered the wrong thing. read more

I usually go to the one in Dublin since it's by my dialysis center. First time getting food from this location and pleasantly surprised that there is one close to where I live. Ordered pickup and was immediately greeted when I entered the restaurant. Friendly atmosphere and clean restaurant from what I could see. I had my usual breakfast on this visit to the Sunny Street Cafe. Banana Bread Oatmeal. It comes in a bowl filled with gluten free oats from Bob & Red Mill, sliced banana, brown sugar, chopped walnuts, cinnamon and a drizzle of honey. Quite frankly, this is how I prepare my own breakfast almost every morning with the addition of two cups of coffee. At $9.09, I thought it was pricey but I'm out with my daughter. Other members of my party had the Big Breakfast sandwich- 2 eggs, bacon, cheddar & chipotle mayo. on a toasted brioche roll with choice of a side. ($9.89). Someone else had the Avocado Toast- smashed avocado pn artisan sourdough bread, basted egg, pico de gallo, queso fresco with a choice of a side. ($10.89). Everyone seemed to enjoy their breakfasts. The cafe is in a strip mall with ample parking. The interior is brightly colored and illuminated something I truly need each morning. I have bright lighting in my home as well to achieve that wake-up feeling. Light wood and vibrant color schemes were also a plus. The service was adequate with refills on the coffee and adequate attention given to water refill and that complimentary, "Would there be anything else." I decided to give this place a try being that it's not even five minutes away from where I live and I've delivered DoorDash orders for them. The food always seems to have a nice aroma so that was convincing I decided to place an order over the phone being that online it didn't allow substitutions if you don't consume eggs. Luckily the employee checked to see if I'd be allowed to sub out the eggs that come with the waffle combo. After placing me on hold she said I'd be able to add another side of choice at no additional charge. I was appreciative of that. You don't get to choose any meat as a side. That would have to be added à la carte in which I decided to also try their chicken sausage. So altogether I had the waffle combo with grits and hash browns (added cheese and onion) then a separate side of chicken sausage. I was told the order should be ready in about 10 minutes. Upon arrival I checked in at the front counter and paid. The server bagged my order and was pretty polite. When I got to the parking lot and checked everything I seen that I was missing my chicken sausage and I didn't see onion with my hash (I was expecting green onions). I go back inside and wait in line and the server that checked me out sees that I'm waiting. She finishes up with a few other things then comes to me handing me the rest of my order... no apology. Then I mention to her about the hash missing onions and she explained that the onions are cooked in it and she could show me. I handed her the container, she opens it and points at the onion. Okay... not sure how I felt about that but it happened fast. We were standing in the lobby around other people. Nevertheless once I got what I paid for I headed home to dive in to this highly anticipated meal that I paid $16.87 for This spot is like a mom and pop diner with pretty mediocre food. At least that's how I feel upon tasting everything. Everything lacked flavor. I had to doctor up my meal when I got home to make it somewhat appealing. I'm extremely disappointed and the only reason I'd give them another try is because I do want to try wild berry crisp I seen available on DoorDash. But honestly this meal fell below the bar I'm not eager to try anything else from there. As a new comer to columbus I've had better other places especially for the price. read more

My friend and I met there for breakfast to dine in, we both ordered the same thing; the Our Famous Hearty Breakfast which came pancakes, eggs (your way), your choice of meat (I ordered bacon) and choice of side (I ordered the hashbrowns). The pancakes were AWESOME, not too sweet they were just right! The bacon and eggs were good as well. The hash browns on the other hand were a miss, hence the 4 stars. I ordered my food via GrubHub specifically the vegetarian omelette and I ask for no mushrooms. Of course my omelette order is filled with mushrooms. This is a perfectly nice breakfast place. The food was fresh and cooked quickly and service was friendly, polite and reasonably fast. All in all, perfectly average. Which is an issue when there's about seven million breakfast places in town that try to have at least one special thing about them, or have really great breakfast potatoes instead of hash browns, or make sure I get more than one coffee before I'm ready to leave. They have a pretty decent breakfast selection, and my experience overall has been pretty consistent across visits. Ok so I took Friday off to see Star Wars and I got to experience this place on an early morning workday. Boy howdy, there's a difference. The pace is casual. The portions and quality seem slightly better. Not a real shocker thing to note but apparently this place goes up a notch when they're not being slammed by families and the church crowd. Really enjoyed their winter menu item of Low Country Benedict. Fried Chicken. Gravy. Perfectly poached eggs. Good stuff. Had it with a side of the best grits they have EVER served me and some toast. Makes me wish I could enjoy this place more with metaphorical curlers in its hair and a bathrobe on, but sadly I'm a captive of the weekend surge. Had to wait until I could get someone's attention. 10 minutes later the toast arrives, but no jelly, nor was I asked if I wanted some. Again, I flagged down waitress to request and ask why no jelly. She used Covid for the poor service and why they could not serve sealed packets of jelly with toast. . . . LAME. Eggs over easy and hamburger patty were too well done. Fortunately, hash browns were crispy. Put water on my only napkin and wiped at gunk on my bench seat. Yes, it would come off, but I left for Oscar. Not my job.
