Our home away from home! Been eating here all my life and it never gets old. They have the best hamburger on front beach and lunch specials daily. Everything is good, I've never had a bad meal at Sunnyside and the service is ideal. They know my name and where I like to sit. Great look and feel for a diner or luncheonette. As genuine as it comes. Outstanding home fries, as old fashioned as it gets, rarely done this well. The service was not as good. I was greeted and was told to sit anywhere, (the counter was full where I would normally sit if by myself as I was), but it was 20 minutes before someone came to see me. Likely it was an off day or off time, but the restaurant is so damn genuine that I will go again soon to see if the service was a fluke or not. read more

I fully expected the cook to come out and take a seat at our table based on how warm and familial the dining experience was plus not to mention I would have loved to shake his/her hand because the creamy texture and flavor of my omelette was to die for. Accompanied not by hash browns but rather crispy Home style potatoes, which I believe our now my preferred spud side. Our sweet waitress was delightful and always available at a moments notice ready to provide jelly, butter, and jams at a moments notice. So sad I recommended this place to my mom. She flew in from the west coast today. Literally across the country. She Ubered from my house with my 9 year old. I was There was no line when she showed up at 1pm and when she told them I would be meeting with them later, they told her they would not seat her until the full party arrived. I was going to drop off my 13 year old around 1:40 because I had an appointment. She had already had breakfast and was going to drop by just to spend time with grandma and take the Uber back home. . so the irony is , we weren't going to dine with her. We were not going to stop by until 1:40. She was made to wait, in a place that had available seating. Without a car, my mom just sat outside for 40 minutes, seconds from tears by the time I got her. Her day was ruined and thinks it's just cruel. My 9 year old didn't get a chance to eat, and instead sat outside because of this absolutely obnoxious host and policy. If there was a line, and limited seating, makes sense. One hour before closing and available seating, it's just a horrible unexcusable experience - my mom feels absolutely unwelcome and she has only been here in the state for 5 hours. Total fail. She was happy this morning and was on her way to IHOP in an Uber, but I said, no go try this cute little place that was recommended to me- so much for that! We were lucky that our hotel was across the street and never had a need to venture closer to PCB to try other places. Honestly I've never gotten so much food from a breakfast place for such a steal of a price. The staff were kind and it truly was fun to watch such a well-oiled machine! Definitely don't pass this one by! We shared a lot of breakfasts because after the first day we realized how much food you get. The waitress was kind enough to let me sample their sausage gravy... I'm super picky and this one was pretty darn good. The biscuit sandwiches are a MUST order, better than any fast food place for the same price... and the omelette was loaded with toppings!
