Hey friends! Of course, we had to stop and get some good ole Amish donuts while in town. I was so excited to pull-up and see the bakery attached to a small farm. Freshness guaranteed! They offer pastries, breads, jams/jellies & more! This quaint little bakery is small but mighty. Service is great and donuts are even better. Every donut was fresh, flavorful and not overly sweet. We also purchased fresh grape jelly. I'm never going to store bought jelly LOL! Free parking. Definitely add this to your list when in town. And make sure to say hi to their horses out-front! We love Sunnyside pastries. Typically, we buy donuts, but we have had their cheesecakes, whoopie pies, sticky buns, etc. We have NEVER had anything we didn't like. Service is always quick even if there is several people there waiting to checkout. Today, the Amish owner waited on several people and a young girl helped us. We were on a road trip through Lancaster County and drove past this fabulous pastry shop so we quickly made a u-turn to check it out and we're so glad we did!! They have a huge selection of fresh pastries and the young woman that helped us was so sweet and informed. They have donuts, pastries , breads- regular and sweet, rolls, sticky buns, apple dumplings, and pies! They sell full size, mini and micro size pies made with a huge variety of fillings! We were traveling so we couldn't pick up a ton , so we opted to bring a shoe-fly and black cherry pie and a peanut butter woopie pie for our road trip. Another bonus is the gorgeous sunflowers that are currently being grown on the farm on the property. We told our huge family about it and they will be here for more goodies. read more

The donuts and cookies are exceptionally good and definitely worth the short drive up the road from Shady Maple. HOWEVER, pies are nasty. The fruit pies are mostly Jell-o with tiny pieces of fruit suspended inside. They do not even match flavors; their peach pie is mostly orange Jell-o. It's definitely gross eating gelatin on a crust so if you love fresh summer fruit pies, Sunnyside is not my recommendation. read more

You can taste the vanilla and a hint of cinnamon, and the doughnut melts in your mouth. My friend gets pies and flavored breads and loves them. Try the preserves too: the pepper butter is tangy, sweet, sour and hot but not too hot. My husband likes smooth and sweet, I like tangy and complex, we both love this. As a Retail Consultant, I enjoy bringing donuts and pastries for the store associates at my morning store visits, and with out a doubt, these are the most delicious, well received treats I have ever brought in to a break room. Purchased a Fresh Peach Pie 8" on Saturday August 24. I was very disappointed to get home only to find the filling had maybe 1 thinly sliced peach encased in an orange flavored, thick, overly sweet gelatin. The crumb topping was the same topping used on Shoofly Pies. read more
