We love Sunnyside pastries. Typically, we buy donuts, but we have had their cheesecakes, whoopie pies, sticky buns, etc. We have NEVER had anything we didn't like. Service is always quick even if there is several people there waiting to checkout. Today, the Amish owner waited on several people and a young girl helped us. She also offered to get donuts in the baking room because they had run out of salted caramel and coconut crème donuts in the case.

We were on a road trip through Lancaster County and drove past this fabulous pastry shop so we quickly made a u-turn to check it out and we're so glad we did!! They have a huge selection of fresh pastries and the young woman that helped us was so sweet and informed. They have donuts, pastries , breads- regular and sweet, rolls, sticky buns, apple dumplings, and pies! They sell full size, mini and micro size pies made with a huge variety of fillings! We were traveling so we couldn't pick up a ton , so we opted to bring a shoe-fly and black cherry pie and a peanut butter woopie pie for our road trip. Another bonus is the gorgeous sunflowers that are currently being grown on the farm on the property. We told our huge family about it and they will be here for more goodies.

    Two missing... oops!

Great spot for tourists as you get to drive along some country roads. Although you are probably in the area for Shady Maple and their donuts and pastries ...Sunnyside is way better and you don't have the crazy crowd of people.

Fresh overstuffed donuts and pastries. I found to be a little on the expensive side.

A great little place to buy desserts. Often when we have people coming over or taking dessert somewhere, this is the place we go.

If you're in the area, be sure to check it out! We decided to have lunch and ordered a couple pretzel sandwiches. Mine was called a Dutchman, which had ham and cheese and a creamy sauce made of brown sugar and mustard. My wife ordered an Italian sausage pretzel sandwich that she devoured. We of course had to try a plain soft pretzel too. The market sold a lot of touristy Amish stuff like maple syrup, soft pretzel mix, bacon dressing, and empty pretzel casings for hot dogs (pretzel dogs). Probably the only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because of its rustic bathroom. It's a single porta-potty that sits outside the store. Better than inside the store I suppose, but eww! No sink to wash your hands, just hand sanitizer. So be forewarned; take care of your private business somewhere else before dropping by.

I didn't know that they have a drive-thru window which is kinda cool. There is a parking lot in the back of the building or the side. The inside was a little dim in some areas coming off more dingy than cozy but interior was all clean and cozy other than that. We were the only people eating there on a Saturday night at 6pm which is fine by us. TV had NASCAR racing on so it wasn't so quiet and awkward. The staff were nice; the girl who was our waitress checked on us and was kind. We ordered at the counter then sat. Service was not very quick to get our food considering how many orders they had for pickup/delivery/door-dash happening. We got a grandma pizza, garlic bread, chicken Caesar salad and two soft bottled drinks. The star of the show was the grandma pizza super delicious!! The chicken in the Caesar salad was cooked very well. That's a big thing to me is if the chicken is overcooked, undercooked, pre-frozen etc. This chicken tasted pretty fresh and not frozen. Overall, I would give this experience a 4/5 stars. We would come back.
