This review is for the service I received from Anthony Mendoza & Leroy. I already had solar panels and a SunPower device installed in our new build home when we first moved in but after about two years, the device needed maintenance. I was contacted by Blue Raven Solar / Complete Solar to replace my SunPower device with an Enphase device, and Anthony and Leroy were the technicians assigned to complete this service for me. They were able to get the device installed within an hour to an hour and a half, and they set me up with the Enphase app as well. They were able to walk me through the app and the installation and confirm that everything was working properly. Only complaint that I had was that I was given an arrival time frame of 8am to 10am, and they arrived closer to noon, but they mentioned they had a few other appointments before mine which can cause delays which is understandable. Otherwise, the installation was smooth and everything is working properly. read more

Either way they were supposed to turn on my solar last year in June 2025 here we are in April and I haven't received any credits of any sort. When I called it turns out that they never bothered to turn on the solar last year! So I've been paying for a product that hasn't been turned on for almost a year. I requested a refund and in the picture you get the ring around rigmarole. This has been going over a month palmetto says that complete solar owes me a refund to which complete solar says it's Sun power who owes the refund to which Sun power Zackary has sent emails in regards to this situation. It's been an additional two weeks and Zackary or any of the other CC'd people have bothered to contact me. The only time I get contacted is to pay a bill for a product that still doesn't work. As of this review my solar is still not turned on by the way... I'm sick and tired of this. In this economy playing with my hard earned money is simply foul. Sunpower again to my door today (this not the 1st time) and the young man...did not say what company he was with....no business card...etc...so I told him to please leave my property as I was not interested...he did.. 3 hours later he is back with a female spewing the same talk....saw the Sunpower logo on her hat....told I was not interested...please leave my property....she continued to ask me questions why I did not want solar.. Told her to leave and to take me off the list as my answer will always be NO.. I am so frustrated with our service from SunPower. Not only were they sold a few months after we signed a 25 year lease with the company - from the advice of SunMade (https://gosunmade.com/), but we now have 4 panels that are not working and it has taken over a month to get the issue diagnosed, parts ordered and now scheduled to be repaired. Also, a person over the age of 18 must be present during the repair window which is over 5 hours, just for them to arrive and then an unknown amount of time for the actual repairs. This is unreal. I never post reviews, but doing so now in hopes that this can enact some change and get others some benefit in the future. I purchased a new home late 2024 with SunPower as the solar provider. Understandably there were. several steps to get my panels activated, and I also know that they were going through company changes at the time. However, this stretched out over months, and eventually all communication stopped. Sending emails, I would get no reply. Calling phone numbers, I was often unable to speak with anyone and never received callbacks, despite leaving my number and reasons for the call. Rare times when I was able to speak with customer service, I was promised they would have someone come to take a look at my solar panels in person as they were unable to activate them remotely, but every single time no one would show up. This most recent appointment was for today. When I called them to see if a technician would be coming, they did report that someone was assigned, but they were "unavailable" (this being 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to be). In a situation like this, I would hope for a courtesy call letting me know that the appointment will have to be canceled or rescheduled, especially as this was planned two months ago. I'm completely accepting of unforeseen circumstances here and there, but when I have to constantly take time off work just for no one to show up, a cycle that has been repeated for two years after I purchased the solar panels and I'm still not getting use from them, this does come across as disrespectful. I have asked for confirmation emails every time an appointment is scheduled and have verified my email to ensure I'm not missing something on my end, but I have also not had these sent. We have yet another appointment scheduled, but I do hope that whatever pitfalls have led to this poor customer service can be formally addressed and remedied for future care. read more

Do not, I repeat DO NOT contract with this train wreck of a company. We started our solar journey almost a year ago with a different company. They made all kinds of promises and things started off great. Then Sun Power acquired them and the whole experience went off the rails. Missed appointments, leaks from the installation, unanswered calls and messages (pleas for help), broken promises...you name it. The system sat on our roof for months before we finally got it turned on fully. Now it has been "charging" for weeks but our grid reliance is STILL 80% and our power bills are higher than ever. The after-sales support has been extremely disappointing. The system was not properly commissioned or monitored, and I have not seen meaningful bill savings. When I asked for assistance, I was told I would need to pay $500 just to inspect the installation. This should not be the customer's responsibility. Furthermore, the installation caused cracked roof tiles, which later led to leakage issues. This created additional repair costs and concerns. Instead of reducing my electricity expenses, the system has made my billing more complicated and stressful. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. read more

Two months ago, we paid in full for 19 panels from SunPower. After waiting those two months, I received a call from SunPower saying that the first available technician could not come for another month. So in total, I am being asked to wait three months just to get my system turned on. What a waste of $34,000 on a product backed by such poor customer service. Please don't believe everything the SunPower sales team tells you--during the sale, they promise you the sky and the earth, but once the payment is made, the experience is completely different. Be very clear when dealing with them and make sure to ask detailed timeline questions. I had to call multiple times before someone finally answered. The person who did pick up was no help at all--he placed me on hold three times and ultimately told me he couldn't do anything. This update is moot at this point but they essentially stole a $300 lease transfer fee when I sold my house. They charged me twice and I could never rectify or talk to someone in order to be reimbursed for the double charge. They filed bankruptcy around that time so I guess they figured they'd relinquish any semblance of customer service. I called numerous times where they transferred me in circles only to be told to send more documentation of the double charge. Which I did 3-4 separate times. Not to mention the countless hours on hold . No wonder they went bankrupt. This company had zero customer service and literally steals your money. I'd update my initial review to a negative 5 stars if I could but a 1 star will have to do. This doesn't even go into how they took about 8 months to finally remove my name from the lease and into the new homeowner's name so they would send me monthly bills months after I had closed on the house telling me I owed them money for months after I sold and moved into a new home. Had an appointment to install my solar Photo Voltaic Supervisor 6 at 8:00 am. Technician Warren Grennan arrived at 7:55 am. He was assisted by Lucas (an experienced installer being trained in the way of SunPower). Both were professional and knowledgeable. As I watched the process (out of curiosity and interest), they explained every step along the way. They also shared alternative configuration approaches and the rational leading to their chosen path. Challenges arising during the installation process were expertly addressed. The installation completed faster than I thought it would. They instructed me on which phone application to install for system monitoring, verified my app was performing properly. They also provided troubleshooting tips and POCs should any issues or questions arose. read more

As temperatures soar, we still don't have solar energy. We received a phone call claiming we had been sent an email, which we never received. They mentioned a new inverter is being ordered but gave no definite installation date. I was promised a call the next day with an update, but no update was given. All our friends and neighbors are enjoying their solar energy systems. None of them have Sun Power. One friend was contacted by their solar lease company about better solar panels, and they replaced all their panels without any issues. We wish we had chosen their solar company. Not only were half of my panel's dead on installation, it took 3 calls to Enphase to identify that it was not installed correctly. Be prepared to be on hold for 30 minutes to 45 minutes at a time to even get a hold of a human being at this company. 3 months later, I was finally able to schedule a technician to come by to come take a look at the issues, and low and behold, they did not show up. No courtesy cancellation notice or anything. There is so far no resolution to this headache. My panels are doing nothing but weighing my roof down. This company is a scam. They fraudulently sold us batteries that stopped working a few months after we paid them $30,000. Sunpower refuses to fix these batteries. Work tickets have been issued that Sunpower just discards. They provide a bogus list of independent companies that we would pay to fix these batteries. These companies, when contacted, do not work with Sunpower equipment. Let me begin by saying I have only left one negative review for a company in my life. Just writing this makes me sick... I feel others should know about my experience before making a HUGE purchase such as solar panels on their homes. Let's start with the facts... The company promises but does not in any way to live up to the promise. This was a $70K project. 1) the project managers are so overwhelmed you're not going to receive a response in a timely manner. sometimes weeks. The project will be delayed (which one can argue is normal for construction). 2) the workmanship is terrible. I wish I could post pictures to show the trash, nails, plastic, roofing shingles, metal bars, and food wrappers that were left on my roof when the solar installation was complete. God only knows what the attic looks like because I haven't been there. 3) Installation was delayed and then the permitting was delayed months. This means I was paying my $300 solar bill every month and PG&E electric bill simultaneously for three months. When I contacted Sunpower about this I was told I would get a refund. That's great right? But nothing happened. Then I contacted them again, and I was assured a refund process will begin. Then my "case" was escalated. I haven't heard anything since october 2023. This is after 5 emails, 6 phone calls. Still no response and we are now In February, 14th 2024. 4) It gets worse. Last month there was a leak in my roof. The roof is brand new. I contacted the roofing company and was shown pictures of how the solar panels were not installed properly by Sunpower. This was $450 to patch (not repair, just a temporary patch to stop the water from the rain coming into my home as it was destroying the drywall and flooring. You would think the solution is simple right? Call Sunpower have them fix it? Well, it's been almost one month, and Sunpower has called and messaged me now 3 times, asking the same questions about the roof. Meanwhile nothing has been done. They took one week just to confirm the install was under warranty. After that happened my roof is still not fixed nor the $450 refunded. I did my research and thought this was a great company to go with for solar panels. I'm so disappointed. You will have one person tell you something and another say something else. Your problems and concerns will receive no response once the project is complete and you sign the paper work. This was was a $70K install. Once they get your money you are left in the dust. So sad... He was able to get it fixed up to the WiFi and started service immediately when our development had told us it would take 4-6 weeks to activate. BUYER BEWARE THIS COULD BE YOU TOO! August 29, 2023 BBB Complaint: 20479853 submitted Contract was signed back in Feb and told it would start towards end of June. To Add to my original complaint about the Equinox System I had thought they were the Maxeon brand, in fact they are not but are still warranted just the same my brand name was Waaree. I also have an issue with Ground Rod (this work is sub-contacted ) standards they stated they would address when they return to install panels. This never happened and they have returned several times never addressing the issue, mind you they are sticking pretty far up from the ground in my Driveway. Complaint for multiple days with hours with out power. Complaint for another hot month of SDG&E Billing because System was approved to be turned on due to multiple failed inspections. 8/9 Per Parker with Sunpower " Thanks so much for sending this over, my sincere apologies for this ground rod installation, I'll ensure this is re-done up to SunPower standards. Our technicians will remove and re-install these grounding rods in a more acceptable manner, on an upcoming site visit. (likely during solar installation)" They have never fixed the Ground rods and they have been back to my property several times. Then I received an email this morning 8/29 stating they now want to charge me $2500 for fixing their poor workmanship. We purchased a new home in 2024 equipped with a SunPower solar system. Initially, it worked for a few months, but since late 2024, it has failed to produce power. We've had multiple SunPower technicians attempt to diagnose and fix the problem, but each service appointment is an extremely lengthy process. Scheduling takes at least one to two months, and there is a persistent lack of communication and coordination between visits. Each time, it feels as though the technicians have to start troubleshooting from scratch. To date, they have replaced our microinverters three times, installed faulty ones, and even replaced the monitoring system twice--soon to be a third time. I am consistently left chasing them for updates and pushing to get rescheduled. I am repeatedly told the case is being escalated, but this only prolongs the delays. As we near mid-2026, our solar system has been non-functional for almost two years. It is especially frustrating because no other homes in our community have encountered these issues. The only positive aspect is that the technicians themselves are consistently professional and courteous, though they appear hampered by internal restrictions. Overall, SunPower's service has been a significant financial and logistical burden, and we cannot recommend them based on our experience. We hope to receive compensation for the last two years, but that has not been guaranteed yet. read more

A very poor experience. It took them months to get anything going. Our project coordinator was completely incompetent and had to reschedule our initial install 3 separate times because they kept on scheduling site inspections during known holidays, this dragged out the project by over another month that we actually had our panels installed before our main panel was upgraded since they couldn't get their ducks in a row. We've had our panels now for a few months and they have been working well, but they had their CTs, current transformers, installed incorrectly from the very beginning where our consumption is 2/3s of solar production when they are producing power. They keep on giving us the runaround and tell us that things are fine even though the monthly consumption on the app doesn't match our PGE bill at all. read more

I was looking forward to working with sunpower. The initial consultation was good. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. However, once I accepted the contract, it was downhill from there. The installation team showed up 2 hours late, which prevented them from fully finishing the installation properly. Due to lack of sunlight, they couldn't paint the conduit cover and said the rep from sunpower would paint it on the day of the inspection. They then scheduled for a city inspection, knowing there was still work to be done.  Day of inspection, the sunpower rep shows up and told me he can not paint it because he doesn't have a long enough ladder. Big surprise, we failed our first city inspection because of that and improper wiring. The rep filed a work order to have the wiring fixed and requested a 2-person crew to come out for the next inspection to do the painting. A crew came out to fix the wiring, and they rescheduled the inspection. On the 2nd inspection, they sent out only 1 person so it couldn't be painted. Again, we failed inspection for the paint and not having electrical grounding. The rep filed another work order for the grounding to be installed, which they did a few weeks later. On the 3rd inspection, they sent only 1 person again, and I was prepared for another fail inspection when the rep said it'll be tough to paint it by himself due to where the conduit is positioned. However, the rep was able to get it done, and we finally got our pass from the city. After the city inspector left, the rep set up the monitoring app for me but noticed that only 2 out of my 13 panels were working, so he wrote an email to have a team look at it.  On top of that, I reached out to my project coordinator to look into the issue as well. I was told they would look into it, that was 2 months ago, and it's still not working. On top of multiple inspection failures, incomplete work, and not thoroughly checking everything, my system is still not working. I am very frustrated and upset. I have done over 10 projects on my house, but never have I been so disappointed.  I've been reaching out regarding this issue, but they're not very responsive now. I have messaged the whole team, including the project manager. When they do respond, I'm just told the monitoring team is looking into it. It's been 2 months, and they're still looking into it? Sounds to me, like they sold some defective product and don't want to fix it. It's been 3 months since the panels have been installed, and it's still not working. My advice is to run away as fast as possible, or you might end up paying a huge chunk of money for a broken system. read more

Having to deal with this company has been an absolute nightmare since taking over the solar lease when buying our home. Over an hour wait times for phone support and I had to threaten to contact the BBB to finally get a technical problem fixed after 1.5 years of follow-ups and troubleshooting. Now there is a new billing company that has taken over for them which apparently can't transfer our automatic payment method. I can't log into my account to set it up. Upon trying, I receive a message saying "Linked user not found (REF: 84303)". I just spent 1hr 43min on hold with sunpower only to finally get a message saying their office is currently closed. SunPower handled the panels and batteries. The installation failed to pass the city's inspection three different times primarily over fire code violations once it failed because the batteries were installed too close together and twice because the system was not hooked up to the smoke alarms. Currently the system has passed the inspection but now the batteries are not functioning. I have tried repeatedly to work with SunPower but have repeatedly been told by Hazel Molares, one of their representatives, that the system passed inspection, so there are no problems. Huh? The system passed inspection because it passed building codes but the system DOES NOT WORK SO SUNPOWER DOES NOT CARE. I've filed with the Better Business Bureau and will be taking legal action. I have not been able to access the company through their app nor have I been able to speak with anyone by phone. They do not recognize that their equipment is not working. They are currently charging me hundreds of dollars per month and do not want to hear that the system is a failure. They want their payments. They don't want the system to function. read more

As I live in Las Vegas, NV, I utilized the vendor Today's Energy Store and sales manager Bill Douglas (702 - 400 - 1590) who - along with his company - has been excellent in answering all my questions, disipate concerns, and give me all options for installation, pricing, and details on what my home needed at the best possible price for me, not the company! The installation from Today's Energy Store has also gone exactly as explained, as planned, and on perfect timing, leaving all the installation areas impeccable when they finished! I also interacted a few times with SunPower directly and interacted wtih Mary Joane Pablo at 800 786 7693, who I also highly recommend for your inquiries. Having been in Customer service for over 7 years and in finance leadership for 15, I can safely say that the products, customer service, and attention to detail for SunPower has been exemplary. Installation was at the end of January and we're still waiting for the permit to operate and it's May. Takes a week and a half for them to respond to emails with no solutions. I wanted to finish my review with SunPower so that consumers are aware of the resolution of my lost data on the application that Sun Power uses to report solar readouts on their system. After months of work with various support personnel and escalation to the EVP of Technology and a letter to the CEO, this is the final response I received today by their Executive Escalations Specialist. In summary, the software application "can not be fixed" to show my solar readouts since inception of my system "but" they did provide me with excel CSV spreadsheets (daily, monthly) of my lost data, and for that I am appreciative and hence the UPGRADE to a "2" rating.....I am still disappointed that I was impacted like many others (I'm told) but again, glad to have my summary data in hand. Now of course, I have to marry this manually to my ONLINE summary. Warren came out and fixed some problems left behind by someone who apparently doesn't work at their company anymore. While he could have passed the buck to someone else, he stayed and fixed what turned out to be more than just some crossed wires. He got the system running again at 100% and everything works great I've heard other rumors about this company from elsewhere but so far everything seems okay read more

It's been absurd that my project has been delayed many times, and nobody is even on top of my project. My project started in October 2023, and yet today is March 26th, I've been waiting for more than half a year, it still hasn't been accomplished yet. What's worst, we failed the building department Inspection. The Sunpower guy didn't even try to fix it and left in the middle of the process, and it's been seven days I've never heard back from them again . It's been a very stressful process. I have to try to contact them a few times a week just so I can get a hold of someone on top of my project, otherwise it's being ignored. I'm investing $50,000 cash in the solar panel project, expecting it to be reliable and giving me a long-term benefit. Now I'm not sure with this type of irresponsible service, how much I can expect in the future. I suggest people to look elsewhere, I do not recommend Sunpower. read more

Here we go 2 years later and another issue with Sunpower. First issue when the installed the panels - they installed them incorrectly and I kept getting water in my newly renovated house. Took a year for them to reimburse me so I could fix it. Now 3 of my panels were not working properly. Not only was I paying sunpower monthly but now my electricity bills were higher than my solar. So Kaitlin Holley who started off helpful advising that a tech would come out and I would be reimbursed for the extra money I paid on my electric bills due to their faulty panels. No one ever came to fix them (nor do I know if they ever were fixed) - and now, for months, she is ghosting me as I ask for my reimbursement. Every month they get paid on time but when a customer is due reimbursement - they don't know you. So now I am going to file suit for the electrical bills and the time and aggravation I have endured. This company is horrible. Do yourself a favor and go with Sun Run. read more

I just bought a new home in Santee and I met my SunPower tech Warren Grennan when he was doing maintenance on my neighbor's home. I asked him for some insight on my home and he took the time to educate me on the type of solar panels I had and what to expect. Fortunately, it was good news that I didn't need additional panels. Once we moved in I had SunPower come out to make sure everything was working properly. That was a good move because there were some things that needed to be upgraded and reconfigured to work optimally. Warren set up shop in my garage and walked me through the app on my phone and let me know what to expect consumption and usage wise. He was very thorough and kind. Warren made sure I didn't have any questions before he left. I even picked his brain about battery walls which I plan to do once we decide what kind of electric car we will buy in the future. I wish more companies had a Warren they could send out to make sure these things are done correctly. Thanks for taking care of us! Lastly, I was told by our community that this process could take weeks/months. This isn't even our second week in our new home and we are already up and running. #Awesome read more

Sunpower, which can monitor the panels remotely, never informed me. " Mine went down Dec 30, 2022. I was never notified, just looking in March at the Feb bill.... showing Zero production. Wow, what a mess. Went without solar power production for 10.5 months. Now I am trying to get the reimbursement as stated in the guarantee. I just want to emphasize that I agree with most of the 1-stars below. The "Escalation Agents" just don't contact you. I'd love to write an amazing review about how great my solar system works, but I can't even get it activated. It's nearly impossible to reach the activation team. They don't respond to emails, and I've spent hours on hold without getting through to a representative. Once the sale is made, they don't seem to care much about customer support.. disappointing. read more

Stay away. My panels, which I own, haven't been working since November. Sunpower, which can monitor the panels remotely, never informed me. My Sunpower app stopped working years ago, and Sunpower never resolved the issue despite several calls. So I didn't know they weren't working. Now my wife and I have been trying to get a technician out to check the panels for the past month and a half. Last week they told me to call back in 7 to 10 days to get an estimate of when a technician can come out. The customer service rep actually had the nerve to give me attitude when I questioned that. There's a reason why their stock price is four bucks. Don't be their next victim. read more
