They just came out of reorganization a few months ago and set up a new accounting system with a new autopay for leasees. Sounds great, but I wasn't able to access my account for the first month or so apparently due to a glitch in their system and every since I get 2 or 3 daily reminders that I haven't paid my bill and they're charging me late fees and I have written to them in their customer email that offers help, but to date no response whatsoever. I truly believe they let their entire customer service staff go, have only bots now sending auto responses and I certainly can't recommend them. They also don't do their own service, it's farmed out to RenovaPlus (new name for them, post Sun Power BK). They are great, expensive, but great. Too bad they don't handle all the customer service for SP.

Do not buy a SunPower solar system for your home energy. Ever. I purchased a home to be built in…read morea new California 55+ development while I lived in another state. This subdivision developer told me that I had to have solar, and it had to be from SunPower. I was uncomfortable with this but knew I had to comply. I never saw the house that I ordered until it came time to move in. After several months, I noticed that my system was the only one in my development whose solar panels were on a north facing slope of my house despite having ample south facing slope which would have been preferable, so I decided to investigate. I called SunPower's customer care and was given polite but non-technical responses and was given assurances that they would supply information on my house's system design that may have caused this odd placement of my system. I never heard from them again. I then contacted my subdivision's warranty department and SunPower cooperated with them and supplied their system design diagram to them (i had previously requested SunPower to supply me with this same document, and nothing ever happened.) It turned out that the aerial view of my house had a N-S-E-W symbol on it that was 180 degrees off, so the solar installers followed SunPower's diagram and obeyed the unnatural orientation; result, a north facing solar system! This resulted in more phone calls to Spwr's customer care which resulted in the manager of that department calling me and verbally offering an amount of compensation money equal to about two of their panels. This manager and customer care dept I found out are based in the Philippines. I told this guy that that was a lowball offer and that I wanted my system to be fixed, physically. He said he'd take it back for review. This guy is a fast talking used car salesman type who I have come to believe does not know much about solar at all but he's "faking it until he makes it" type of job performance. Next, I found a home in my subdivision which has an identical SunPower system to my own, only this owner has his system where it should be; i.e on his house's southern slope. We compared system statistics. My system underperforms his by generating 40% less solar power per year! This discovery caused more calls by me to SunPower, which resulted in them escalating my complaint to another person, this time in Texas. After a week or two, SunPower officially closed my complaint with no action. All I was requesting was that they move my system to my south slope at their expense so that I could stay at NEM 2.0. I pay about an extra $500/yr in electricity due to SunPpwer underperformance, and due to their lack of honesty this will happen for as long as this house stands unless something is changed. You can read about this case in more detail by going to the Better Business Bureau archive BBB complaint ID 21933514. SunPower company is financially 'on the ropes' which may explain their blatant lack of care to fix their mistakes. Avoid them like the plague.

I was contacted by Blue Raven Solar / Complete Solar to replace my SunPower device with an Enphase device, and Anthony and Leroy were the technicians assigned to complete this service for me. They were able to get the device installed within an hour to an hour and a half, and they set me up with the Enphase app as well. They were able to walk me through the app and the installation and confirm that everything was working properly. Only complaint that I had was that I was given an arrival time frame of 8am to 10am, and they arrived closer to noon, but they mentioned they had a few other appointments before mine which can cause delays which is understandable. Otherwise, the installation was smooth and everything is working properly.

I just received the worst customer service I've ever experienced from your call center…read more Manager, Chris told me that I would receive an update by 2 pm today. I didn't receive that update and had to call. There was no progress on all 3 of the action items we discussed, and when I tried to escalate the issue, Chris disconnected the call. Upon calling back and being told Chris would call me back directly, I received no call again from Chris. When I called back, I was made to wait for an hour and 20 minutes for a manager that never answered my call. After that time I was told that I would receive a call back from Chris by the end of the day, but AGAIN I did not get a call back. I need someone to reach out to me so that I can make a formal complaint about my experience. I will be posting this on reviews as well.

I got answers from Darlene that did not make sense. Sometimes her computer was down other times her phone was down. Sometimes she would call to give me a message only to realize that she had called the wrong customer. Did not enjoy working with her. Finally, Kara engaged and we got the Permission to Operate about two months after the install. Supposedly Jeff (the Business Owner) is no longer with the company and has gone back East, so not sure who is leading their future efforts. For future customers: hang on to a portion of the payment till the Permission to Operate is received not just the installation.

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. Seamless is what you'll experience with them. Until next time Clean Solar!

Thank you to Dan Moran, our project manager, who was always available whenever I called with answers or solutions. Dan has a very calm demeanor and an easy flow in explaining different processes and how the system and the app work. I really appreciated Juan Carlos, our electrician. In addition to upgrading our panel, he had to do a couple of hole patches in our wood siding , which is out of his general scope of work , but did a nice job at it. Juan was very thorough and I appreciated his cleanup when he was done. There was no scraps of wire, electric tape, nothing left on the ground, which was very much appreciated. And as a side note, there are four houses on our street who have used Northern Pacific Power for their solar needs. Which I would think in itself, is a pretty good recommendation.

Five stars for the installation -- outstanding project manager and crew: responsive, punctual,…read moreprofessional, top-quality work. One star for the sales process. When we raised concerns, I believe the salesperson my partner dealt with wanted to make things right, but sales leadership stepped in, dismissed our concerns as unfounded, and offered nothing. Those concerns were (and still are): 1) Sketchy contract execution. NPP offers a 5-year prepaid lease in partnership with Balto Energy. It lets homeowners offset installation costs because the leasing company collects a 30% federal tax credit (no longer available to homeowners) and, in NPP's words, "monetizes that tax credit over 5 years." The contract was executed by sending the DocuSign to just one partner, with all owners lumped onto a single signature line -- one person signing on behalf of the other. For a married couple in California, that's legally questionable under community property law, given a) the encumbrances placed on jointly owned property, and b) no power of attorney authorizing one spouse to sign for the other. I never saw the agreement until installation was underway. 2) Misleading claims. My partner was told, verbally and in writing, that we'd "own the system outright" at the end of the 5-year term. In truth, the contract contains only vague language about a fair-market-value buyout, with no detail on how to initiate it or who to contact at end of lease. We've had zero contact with Balto through this entire process -- only NPP -- yet NPP's sales director told us they have no role in the lease agreement once it's signed. In other words, they don't stand behind the product they sell. Don't be like us -- do your diligence (especially if you're over 65 and new to solar leases), verify every claim against the actual contract language, and make sure all owners review and sign every agreement.

They took the time to answer all my questions, explain everything clearly, and made the whole process so easy. They were also very fast with the work and truly took great care of me. I'm pretty picky about my stuff and who I trust to work on my home, so that says a lot. I would absolutely trust them if I were you! I really appreciate how professional and knowledgeable they are. I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. Carlos is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, and genuinely passionate about doing things the right way. After meeting him, I completely understand why this company has such strong Yelp reviews. If you're in the Bay Area and need electrical or solar work done the right way, especially for a non-standard or custom system, I highly recommend Carlos and the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions.
