They are getting a two star review for the install team who did a 5 star install and who gave 5 star service. The lack of rating goes towards the customer service I received from the sales department. I bought Solar with my new home which cost $11,000 for 9 panels. I wanted to add 11 more panels. My new quote I received for the additional work is $19,800. That's a huge jump from my original install. A $8,880 jump in prices. When looking at my quote there is a $7,920 cost for design, engineering, and delivery of materials. That was never on my original quote. The scope of my job never happened, the guy never even went on my roof. The power monitor and sub panel that was added to my install was not needed and so it was not used. When I emailed my sales and project coordinator, his reply was simply our product is better then other companies when in fact my 11 panels on my new bid cost $11000 which was comparable to my other quotes. They just don't add the $7,920 extra like sun power does. And to add my sales guy doesn't want to speak with me until after April 1st when things slow down for the solar company. So I'm left feeling like I'm a paid customer and my concerns aren't as big as some one they are trying to get to sign a contract. It's a shame I can't get anyone from such a big company to either fix my contract or simply reach out to me to discuss my issue with it. read more

Customer Service SUCKS!!!! Buyer beware! When system was installed I asked for my system to be hard wired to my WiFi. However, installer said it wasn't necessary since I had a strong signal going to the system. Since then at least a couple of times a month I receive notices that my system is offline. So I've called to get the issue resolved but they say it's working so not to worry. Which I have now have found out or at least that's what I'm being told today that scheduling is done in a different department and the customer service rep you speak to when calling can't schedule appointments. So basically they're filtering calls so they only can pick and choose when they should send somebody out or not. Unfortunately, I guess I should have forced the issue because now it seems issue may not be just my monitoring system. Since I received a $2139.97 Tru-Up bill from P.G & E yesterday. So it seems like my system is the issue not just my WiFi (internet connections). I know you might be thinking I just used to much P.G & E. However, it's only my husband and I who live in the house. We put 30 panels up and we purposely made sure the panels would cover 20% more than what we use because my husband is planning on adding a garage/workshop. Which has NOT been added yet. So now I have a case number and was told it will be at least 3-5 business days before scheduling will even call to schedule the appointment. In the meantime, I guess I'll continue paying P.G & E on top of paying my solar bill. Of course, they don't offer to cover any of the additional charges while the system is down. Along with when I first called thinking it was a P.G. & E. error I was told that they didn't have much info on my system because the WiFi (internet connections) so it wasn't monitoring the system. Besides that with their monitoring system I wouldn't be able to figure out if my systems numbers and P.G. & E.'s numbers were accurate. Then he suggested I buy a system that would be able to track that info. Which is something one of their competitors offered for free when I was shopping around for solar but I was told by their salesman that it was garbage and could possibly cause issues with my system. I won't go into details but I've also had other issues that basically I was lied to about from the company. Not to mention you need to make sure to stay on top of the lender. I had my account set up to make double payments so it can be paid off within 3-5 years. Some how magically the billing system constantly lowers the payment. Then when I call, they say I've always been paying that amount. Even though they can clearly see from past payments it hasn't been. I thought I made a good decision choosing Sun Power but if a company's customer service sucks it really doesn't matter if the product is any good or not. But at this point it doesn't seem like the system is any good either. My suggestion is to go elsewhere. More proof of how shitty the service is!!!! The only thing worse than SunPower's faulty and unreliable products is their abysmal customer service. Most people will use a roofing contractor to purchase and install their solar panels, but roofing contractors aren't qualified or capable of troubleshooting malfunctions with the inverter. SunPower's products have been plagued with persistent inverter issues, and when the inverter is non-operational, the unsuspecting customer is dumped by the contractor and instructed to deal directly with SunPower. That's when the real trouble begins because there is absolutely no way to contact any SunPower representatives in this country. Be prepared to spend hours on the phone trying to communicate with "customer support representatives" in the Philippines who do nothing more than read from a script and provide baseless assurances someone will return your call in 24 to 48 hours. (Don't be surprised when nobody calls.) The solar panels we purchased from Semper Solaris were functional for almost two years before the inverter issues began. After three months and five separate failures, Semper Solaris informed us they couldn't do anything and we needed to deal directly with SunPower. I was confident SunPower would promptly address the problem and get our solar panels back in working order. The first hint of trouble was a long wait for our service appointment, but I was assured by Dominic Kubelka "Executive Service Specialist" not to worry because we would be compensated for the time our system was down. After five long months of inaction, excuses and ineffective "repairs" SunPower finally managed to restore our solar panel system. During this period I've incurred an electric bill of nearly $700, but Mr. Kubelka informed me that $170 is what SunPower deems fair compensation. SunPower is a company to avoid. The best residential solar company period. We just had our system turned on this afternoon and we could not be happier with the entire experience from this great company, Sunpower. From Jarrod Walters on the sales side to the entire installation team that was out here all day putting on 23 panels in 90 degree heat. Finally the customer service with Jessica Espinoza, Aaron Soriano and Tyler Santangelo all did an outstanding job. The entire process was smooth and a very good education on the system and technical / engineering stuff that I also enjoy! they seem to change personnel often. non-existent customer service. took much longer than they said to install but that was likely not their fault and had to do with permitting. a few issues with the hook-up in that somehow the installer disconnected my HVAC/ Nest. i had to take a day off work to wait for them to send someone out to fix it. they sent someone out who did not have the proper skill set - they sent out a solar technician even though i described to them that I needed help with my HVAC. i then had to hire my own HVAC person, take a day off work and pay them to reconnect my AC. Hector Reyes from Sunpower told me that i would be reimbursed and I never was. I sent a follow up email and never heard back. The day they installed there was some issue with running a cable through my attic that had not been described to me. i was leaving for work and was not prepared to have people in my house. not sure how they accomplished what they needed to accomplish. seemed like a bait and switch at 11th hour and made me uncomfortable. Sunpower over-charged me - less than$1000 on a total bill of $23,000. i have 5 contact email addresses and cc'd all of them on initial email on July 5th... zero responses. I sent a follow up email on july 9th and got an out of office email from Jackie Ledesma saying out for one day but would respond... to date no response. i sent another follow up email to the group and included executives at sunpower on July 16th and got an out of office email from Kris McDonald saying out until July 19th and would respond... to date no response from anyone. Michael Bish was also cc'd on all of the correspondence in addition to "executives." beware, once you pay the money (they will not allow payment with credit cards, so the credit card company can't help you) they will not respond to you at all. I think there is a program where you can shop around through SCE. Do that. they cold called me with a knock at the door and I got sucked in. read more

Very poor level of cordination with sunpowers project cordinators. Was told i would not pay for solar panels untill they were installed and that was correct butt What they did not say was edison power company would take 2 months to give permission to operate. So the whole spill of wanting to save me money does not happen while ur still paying ur electric bill and ur solar panel financing. Thats not on the project cordinators but what is on them is the whole time i was waiting on edison they did nothing to help speed along the process or even reassure me of anything they go dark. Once edison did give permission to operate we found out the panels had a problem and were not fully operational. Sun power project cordinators could not even give a repair date due to they use contractors for repair issues and have no control over when thier contractors even reply to their repair requests. When project began i needed roof work again the project cordinators were very poor at communicating between the contracted roof company and myself . After loosing two days of work because roofers didnt show , i finally started cordinating with roofer company myself. Do not recomend sun power at all . read more

The panels and hardware are excellent. The company here in Colorado Springs who installed them is excellent as well. My only complaint is with the Sunpower mobile app. Please fix this app for all of us. Make it show us what each panel is doing. We don't care about how many miles driven we've saved, and we want more precise data. For the cost of these systems we customers deserve a much better mobile app. Hence the 4-stars. Erica P. Literally run, do not walk away from this company. One year ago we bought $30,000 worth of solar panels from Sunpower, directly - no dealer. Sunpower sales, Sunpower installation, Sunpower everything. Now, 12+ months into our new solar powered life, we've spent almost the same amount in electric bills as we did in the 12 months before we ever had them. I've spent 4 weeks and who knows how many hours on the phone trying to get someone to help us. They promise this remote analysis or that remote analysis, and never report back. I just keep calling, and finally, today, they told me my system is officially working perfectly and that they consider my case closed. When I ask, for the millionth time, how it is possible that despite buying their $30,000 worth of solar panels, I am still paying our local electric company the same money per month for electricity that I paid before I ever bought their product, they say that somehow, right after they installed my panels, my family began consuming TWICE the electricity we used to. I told them we are living the same exact life in the same exact house using the same exact stuff we always have, and they simply fall back to their preposterous assertion that we're using double the electricity we did just 12 months ago. The local utility came and tested their own electric meter...twice, and confirmed it's working. Sunpower, on the other hand, just wants me to believe that we've suddenly started sucking up electricity at twice our normal rate and that according to their REMOTE analysis, all of my panels are working just fine. When I reiterated that our living habits had not changed, they randomly tried to blame the weather for our panels inability to generate the power they are supposed to (we're in LA and we've barely had a drop of rain since we purchased our panels a year ago, but I looked up the weather reports for our zip code over the past year just to make sure I hadn't lost my mind...sun and more sun out the wazoo). Sunpower sold us $30,000 worth of panels that are doing next to nothing, and rather than fixing the problem, whatever that may be, they are telling us, officially, that our "household consumption" is to blame, along with non-existent bad weather. And that's it, nothing more, just The End, go away, there's nothing we can do for you. I mean, it's a pretty sweet business model if you think about it...sell someone an expensive thing, and when the person who just bought it says that it's not working, just say that it is. What's the person gonna to do, sue? Sadly, yes. That's the next step for us in all of this craziness because who spends 30 grand on something that doesn't work and just lets it go because "oh well"...? Anyone? So, if you do one thing and one thing only in the world of solar power, make sure it is has nothing to do with Sunpower. I'm a 44 year old sane, chilled out dad with a nice family who wanted to be more environmentally conscious. We're friendly, transparent reasonable people. This company is not. Have my system installed on Sept 2016. Have been a happy Sunpower customer until recent event. Recently found the panels are producing half of the electricity when compared to same months of previous years. Called customer service on 6/5, was told the microinverters are bad, they are going to dispatch technicians to replace the microinverters, and the technicians will contact me. A week went by, no phone call. Follow up calls on 6/11, 6/19 and 7/2 produced no result. How can a company who promise 25 year warranty cannot even provide warranty service only after 3 years, those who are considering buying Sunpower should really check Yelp postings and think again. Contacting customer service did not resolve the issue, I am exploring other options, including legal action against Sunpower. read more

Stay away!!! Solar works fine. Needed paperwork for refi, nothing but trouble. Sunpower wants to determine title co. policy. By doing so, it will hold up my refi 6 to 8 weeks because THEY want to record subordination papers. BUT, my mtg co can do it faster and we can close in 4 days! Another issue, call center is in Philippines, what do they know of US banking and title search rules. Not to mention time difference to deal with east coast of US while I"m in Ca! After fighting my way through the terrible phone system and call center people, I received outstanding response from Barbara from Renova in Palm Desert Ca & the ceo Mr. Werner's personal assistant. My issues were solved any promises were met. My only disappointment is farming out call center jobs overseas when, if a living wage was paid, Americans would fill those jobs! We have been extremely disappointed with the customer service response to our request for information for a battery back-up system to be supported by the SunPower solar program we have. Customer service eventually provided a lead to one vendor, who ended up unable to provide a battery back-up system. Reaching out to SunPower, they would not provide any support and we were on our own. Additionally, SunPower has not provided adequate solar power as we are being charged $700 annually for the true-up. We have left multiple messages and were promised answers, but to no avail. Contacted Sunpower to let them know our box is not working and there are no lights showing. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a rep named Christopher, who seemed to not know how to answer any questions. I asked several times to speak with a supervisor, which he flat out denied me. He lied and said supervisors would only tell me what he's telling me. Then he stated there were no supervisors available when I told him I would call back the following day and report that he refused to transfer me to a supervisor. I informed him when I log into the app, it's telling me to reconnect the system. He tried to tell me to go check the breaker box. I told him I would not do that, as I have no experience in that. He then tells me he sees that we called in DECEMBER 2022 about a problem with our box and someone called last week to tell us they would replace it. He also told me not to try to reconnect the system. So basically, it took from December 2022 to June 2023 to get a response??? Completely unacceptable!!! He's telling me our box is faulty, but did not offer to have anyone come check our system. I will be filing a complaint with all state and government agencies that regulate this industry. The fact that it has taken six months to get a response when the box was somewhat working back in December and is now completely inoperable is completely unacceptable. We paid a lot of money for this system, which was already installed when we purchased the home in a new development. In other words, we had NO choice in a solar provider. I'm am offended by the representative's lack of knowledge and refusal to transfer me to a supervisor, since he did not seem to know how to answer questions. Update - we're still in a bit of limbo with SunPower. Shortly after writing the first review, Jensen hopped back into the picture (a very good thing) and we were put in touch with a supervisor named Justin. Justin did a really good job of explaining why the panel upgrade was needed and then assured us our system would be installed before the end of the year. This made us feel a little better but that quickly faded a week ago. One of the reasons we decided to go with SunPower instead of another company (besides Solar City) is like another review mentioned, everything is now in-house and they weren't using subcontractors. However, a week ago, Jessica emailed us stating that if we wanted our system to be installed by the end of the year, we would have to use their subcontractor, All Bay Solar. This was a surprise since Justin didn't state that when he reassured us and nullifies one of the cons about going with SunPower. Justin followed up with the reasons why they are using subcontractors (too many projects) which has left us with the feeling SunPower simply tried to make as much money as possible before the end of the year by locking people into contracts but in truth, overextended themselves. Anyways, the upgraded panel was installed and it looks good but we have another bump along the road. While installing the panel, removing the stucco around the panel was necessary and because the stucco is missing, one of our downspouts can't be connected to the house. My husband asked the technician from All Bay Solar (the company that installed the panel) about repairing the stucco and he said that they didn't do it, SunPower would handle it. We contacted SunPower about the schedule for the repair because having part of the wall of your house open isn't great during winter months (even if it doesn't rain a lot) and they responded that All Bay Solar would handle it. Again, not the best communication. At this point, we're still frustrated and disappointed with SunPower and feel like it has been very much of a bait and switch with the whole project. While it's great that others have had a good experience and we very much thought we would as well from the picture Jensen painted, it's definitely hasn't been a good experience. Additionally, if it seems like we're just complaining because it wasn't perfect, it's not - the detail is being added so that if any reader is considering SunPower, they should be fully aware of both situations, the good and the bad, especially with such an important and expensive upgrade to your home. read more

I worked with SunPower Direct (not an independent installer) to purchase an 8.7KWp 25 panel SunPower system. I had a great experience with their sales rep (Emily), project coordinator (Jessica), and technicians. Emily was very knowledgeable, precise, and honest in answering my questions without any pressure. Jessica and the project team were responsive and worked through all of the details to address my unique requirements -- minimizing visible conduit, leaving room in my electrical panel for EV charging circuits that were to be installed later, and coming back again to install extra current sensors after the EV circuits were finally installed by someone else. I had also obtained quotes from SunRun and Tesla, but chose SunPower Direct for several reasons. With SunPower Direct, one company takes full accountability for both the hardware and installation (true of Tesla as well). Their product has higher efficiency than the other two, so it takes less roof space (important for larger systems). It looks good in all black (Tesla offers this too). And their warranty is more comprehensive than the others and completely handled through SunPower itself for all components and labor. read more

I recently went active with SunPower through Renova in Palm Desert, CA. It's great I can monitor my solar output online by the hour, by the week, by the month and by the year. I go online to monitor it constantly, almost everyday and it's truly been a fun hobby to understand how it works. Of course the weather does have the last say in the matter but weather is to my advantage here in the sunny desert. So far I am seeing my credits accumulate back to the grid. (Watching my meter spin backwards is confirmation I'm in fact, sticking it to the man, quite rewarding indeed). It was just a bit of an investment, but I am looking forward to seeing the long term benefits....and being a life long "green" guy since childhood, there is no doubt I made a very good decision. In eight years it will pay for itself....then it's basically free energy from then on out.....and we're talking about covering cooling costs in the desert all summer. Sun Power has worst customer service. When i got solar panel it was producing 16-18 Kw energy every day. Now from last 3 months it is producing less than 10 kw. I am in California with last 4 month average temp is above 90 F, still panels are not producing. Open ticket 4 weeks back but no fix yet. Called them 4 times every time on hold for more than 30 mins then customer service representative hangs up. You have to again call them and wait for 30 mins. If you are lucky you may able to talk. I would not recommend sunpower to you, there are much better options available. read more

I had SunPower panels installed in our home three years ago. The sale and install was done by a separate company and they provided outstanding sales and service. Ultimately that company closed their doors and the account and warranty was transferred to SunPower directly. The panels have had problems with the micro inverters and SunPower will not get moving to fix it. The system has been reporting a data connection problem for more than 18 months now and no matter how many times I call and how many times they say they're on it, nothing happens. I could never recommend them and will now have to escalate to a CA consumer protection org. I gave them two stars because the panels work well when everything is working read more

A portion of our solar panels ended up going out about three months ago. We called sun power to come out to resolve the issue. They ended up sending some very unprofessional subcontractors to our house who Removed our bird proofing which we just paid over $2000 to have installed. I requested that they put the bird proofing back how it was until the solar issue was resolved. They never did. We now have birds roosting under our solar panels and bird crap piling up by the pounds. Now or second set of Solar panels are not working. Therefore we have no solar. The company has yet to come out to resolve the issue. They've also damaged or property. We have called daily and they have never even responded. We've called the registrar contractors. We have a meeting set for beginning of June. At this point Sun Power is requesting that we pay their monthly payment even though we are not using solar. Our electric bills are skyrocketing. We recently purchased a new home. The developer contracted with SunPower. We elected to buy our panels (and not lease them; everything I've read suggests leasing is a bad idea). It is taking approximately 12 weeks from close of escrow to receive permission to operate from SDG&E. After waiting 12 weeks, it took another 1.5 months to get our solar panel system working in our home. If it weren't for Warren Grennan, it would have taken longer. He's a pro. He was on time, understanding, respectful, and empathetic to our concerns--particularly as we're experiencing a heatwave in Southern California right now. He went in and fixed all sorts of poor workmanship that was done at the time of original installation. I have no doubt that our system will continue to operate as it was intended as result of his help today. He even agreed to volunteer to come in on a Saturday morning over a holiday weekend to troubleshoot our concern. Thanks, Warren. If he worked for me, I'd make sure to keep him happy (raise, bonus, etc.); I wouldn't want to lose him to my competitors. This would not be a 5-star review, but for him. read more

I switched to solar in 2021. At the end of the first year, and the beginning of 2022, my solar was not producing enough so that I did not have to purchase from my local utility company-United Illuminating. I put in a guarantee rate claim with Sunpower. This took 3-4 months to get a completed report. Before they closed out the case, they emailed 1 time then called and left a message that they were closing the case that day because I didn't respond. When I got the voice message, I called them immediately. Their workday ends at 6:00pm PST. I am in the East coast (3 hrs ahead) and called them back as soon as I got home from work and got the message. They already closed the case. Their business day had not yet ended. I in turn went to the CT Atty General, filed a complaint (2 times) still have not heard back from them since May. Then received a call from Sunpower (Sean Street) who said he was handling the AG complaint. He's out of TX (1 hr behind me at EST) He asked for utility bills, I asked him why he just didn't get them from the guarantee rate claim. He said he would but I sent him more bills that day (7/15/22). I had one question....Why is the Utility meter reading different from the Sunpower meter reading to the grid? Two weeks go by, I don't hear from him. He emailed me about 2 wks later and said he was still waiting for info. I emailed him back & asked if he got my bills that were sent. He didn't respond. I called, left message, he finally emailed back, apologized & said he didn't get bills. I sent them again and asked for a reply. He finally replies and said that they couldn't be read and that he wants 1.5 yrs of utility bills and that he was closing the case by end of week. I resend 20 pages to him with another email, have left 2 messages with him and 2 to the Atty Gen. (who also hasn't responded) and now it's the end of the week. I had one question.... Why are the meters showing different readings? It's been like that every month. Do you think he really needed 1.5 years of bills? Do you think he was just stalling because he knew that the Atty. General in this state is beholden to the power companies? Why isn't the Solar company or the Atty General responding to a claim from May? read more

If you can avoid sun power, do it. Avoid sun power like the plague. I have had the most awful experience with this company. Initially I gave them a great review after installation. Everything was working fine until February 2022. My panels stopped producing solar. I called customer service to let them know I was having an issue. Their procedure is to monitor the system for 24 hours and see what could be an issue. They were suppose to call me back if they found something. They never called but my panels were still not producing solar. I called again and explained what was happening. I told them my breaker was tripped. They said that on their end everything was looking good and that I would need to sign out and sign back in the app to see the data. Funny how I said the breaker was tripped but yet it was fine on their end. Eventually a technician came out to assess the problem. He reset the breaker and said it was fixed and he assessed the wiring on top. It was working until about noon. I checked the app and solar wasn't being produced anymore and I checked the breaker. It was tripped. I called customer service and guess what... they have to monitor it for 24 hours before they can do anything...i explained that a tech was just out and reset the breaker. Eventually another technician appointment was made and they came to change out the breaker but that did not fix the issue. I have been physically resetting the breaker from march until the end of April. I have been on the phone with numerous reps and I finally got mad when I was hearing the same thing, "everything is working on our end and we will monitor for 24 hours" How can everything be fine if the breaker is tripped. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor because I demanded a technician appointment be made. They put me on hold to connect me to their supervisor. I was on hold for a while and the rep said the supervisor is busy but they would make a technician appointment. The appointment was never made. I was having to go outside and reset the breaker myself because if I paid 14,900 dollars for this system and I wanted to get my money's worth. I finally got in touch with a supervisor who is working on the issue. My next technician appointment wont be until May 19th. I know this review is long but please just take one thing from this ... Do not go through SunPower for solar. read more

SunPower - Solar Installation Near Me - Richmond, California

I usually do not write reviews, but the lack of customer or really ANY service from SunPower triggered me to write this review, and am supposed to have a 10 year warranty but it appears its a gimmick to get customers to sign on. I have broken tiles and with the recent storms in California, my roof is leaking and a whole ceiling damaged, which will require tearing of the entire ceiling. I called their customer line at least 10 times, every single time, they were unable to resolve anything, and for the past 10 days, I've been told a supervisor or manager will call me back and am still waiting. I can't get thru anyone but their very unintelligent staff that can't even read their own notes. On one ocassion, they missed the fact that they already performed a site visit, just to tell me that there was never a site visit and asked me to prove it! OMG... Apparent with them, one must take a picture of their technician in uniform and their truck out in my front yard to prove them that they did the visit and LOST the report. So now I have a second visit scheduled 2 weeks out and another storm coming. I am reporting them to business burau because every time I call they just pretend that the case is getting assigned or escalated but NOONE takes ownership! This company has no responsibility towards their customers once they take the money on a paid off solar panels. read more

I'm very happy to have eventually contacted Sunpower. My experience was top notch and light years apart from the other providers I had dealt with. Dennis got our system up and running really quickly and was very nice and knowledgeable about how everything works. As we are not experts in solar power, Dennis was kind enough to explain the nuances and how to read the information coming from the system so we now have a firm grasp on how it is working. The authorized dealer who installed out system 6 years ago went out of business. Two panels recently stopped producing power. I was relieved when SunPower took my call (with no hold time!) and scheduled a repair. It did take a long time to get a technician out, but I am pleased with the level of support and glad that we went with a large reputable company for our solar system. read more

Never use this company!!! I have Edison as an electric company and SunPower as a solar panel company. My electric bills always high. In April I received a bill from Edison for over $500. Solar does not help at all. Representatives of Sun Power always lie, useless. read more

If I can give these guys a 0 start I would. So far my system produced way before normal last year and took a year to get them to send someone out to even figure out. They said they have fixed the issue. So far I paid PGE $3500 on top of my existing payments to sun power. Every day for the last month have been having fun with them on the phone for 45 minutes and getting no where. I am yet to get my 1st year report that shows the problem so I can get some money back. But there is always a problem with their end. It is always one thing or another. Their customer service is based in the Philipeans and everyone I talked to so far has been incompetent in their ability to solve the problem. I have informed my lawyer about the case and looking at the reviews this is not a single case so action will be taken against them. If I had written the report by hand i would have been done by now. Come give me a break who are you fooling. If you think I will be done with this you are mistaken and I will make sure you get what you deserve. Trust me I am making this my personal case to either you solve everyone's issue or put you out of business. I will make it happen one way or the other. You better act or you will be very very very sorry. Over eight weeks ago I reported a problem to SunPower. The failure light on our solar system indicated a failure. I am still waiting for a repair person to show up and repair my system. When I first called, the earliest appointment available was in 6 weeks. That was appointment 10 days ago and the technician never showed up. After several phone calls on my part and no follow up by SunPower, I was given another time slot 10 days after my initial appointment. Again, the technician did not show up. After over 30 minutes on the phone with SunPower, I was told today's scheduled technician would not be able to make this appointment. I have been given a third time slot, five days from now. My electricity bill has skyrocketed while my system is not working. I don't recommend this company because of its unresponsive customer service and failure to even have the courtesy to inform its customers if technicians are unable to make appointments. read more

I signed up for Sun Power. Worst buying experience ever!!! Our sun power project manager Ryan Looney was the worst communicator and obviously had no idea how to manage a project. He started the relationship off by providing the wrong email address, so I had to go back to the sales guy and have Ryan tracked down. Then after it was misinformation, wrong dates.... repeatedly for over 6 months. I have all the emails and quite frankly he thought just saying sorry and he'd do better (which he never did) was good enough. i had to keep asking what was going on, what's the next step, which he'd get wrong. I took many days away from work to be told THAT DAY, "oh your appt. is next week sorry" This simple project took over 6 Months!!! read more

We had panels on our home when we purchased it, we added more panels 4 years later. In the span of 5 years, they second set were installed improperly, causing roof rot. When the huge rain storms hit this winter, we began having severe leaks in our home and suffered damage to ceilings in several areas. We contacted 2 roofers, they said it was a bad installation, recommended removal, roof repair and reinstall action of panels. We did that, have pictures, the roofer said it was the worst installation job he had ever seen. We requested solar to assist with repair and reimbursement of our over $15000.00 worth of damage repair. They denied and said it was too late since we already began repairs and were unsure of the issues. The issues were clear, but they do not stand behind their installers and honor our claim of damages.
