Came to get turbo replaced a few months back, it ended up blowing 1,000 miles later due to them not checking the intake boot (old turbo debris in it) Was already in the hole 2,500, but they "warrantied" me for it but it still cost 500 dollars after that. then I tried to change my oil recently, the drain plug had been stripped. I wasn't originally looking for them to warranty this since it made since to me it was an old car, but then they had me check under the car with them, assigned the blame to me without being up front about it, and then the head mechanic said smugly "invest in some jack stands", not knowing I have a jack and jack stands in the trunk. Nice people, but bad customer service. read more

After having my car towed to the shop, they called within three hours to tell us the problem, give an estimate and a time frame. A friend of mine took their car to Sunrise closet to where he lives. He had replaced the starter did not fix the issue of the power continually going out. So sunrise told him it was his battery, they replaced the battery and cable for $400. After a day and a half the car quit running again. They gave him another battery thinking it had to just be the battery, day and a half later the car quit running again. So he bought a new alternator, put that in himself. The car has been running fine for over a week now with no problems. Too bad they charged him$400 for items Not Needed. Battery was probably low initially due to a BAD alternator, which they Never checked!! all it needed was a new alternator. read more

They were supposed to just change my battery in my car and when I got it back my sound system was all messed up. My boyfriend and I thought that some of the wires weren't set up properly so I took it back and asked them to re-look at it and fix it. I was met with a rude degrading attitude, and the owner said "that's impossible" and basically tried to say that it was my issue that his mechanics had messed up my sound system. They told me that they went back in and checked everything, that there was power to all the controls and the speaker and they couldn't do anything. I knew that was obviously a lie because everything in my trunk was exactly how it had been before. Since the owner was in no mood to actually try and be helpful to fix the situation I took my car to unique sounds across the street, paid for them to check it out and guess what? It was the wires exactly like I thought, they installed the ground wire improperly so there wasn't enough power to my subwoofer or system. Personally I wouldn't recommend going to this auto shop unless you want to deal with an old man who will treat you like a fool. If they mess up your car don't expect them to listen, they're going to try and say it's your issue because checking their work and admitting that people make mistakes is a lot harder than just checking to see if they were actually in the wrong or not. Honestly you're better off working on the car yourself. I will never be returning and I'm sure they won't miss the business, they're enjoying over charging other customers anyway. I was given a recommendation to use Sunrise Automotive because my parents had a nice experience a few years ago. My Toyota Corolla needed to have a compression test diagnostic due to a lot of engine complications I was recently having. I called Sunrise ahead of making an appointment to make sure they could do it and Tom advised me that they could, for $100. I called a few days later to make the appointment and verified again that they would be able to look at it. I brought my car in on a Monday (late morning) and was advised by Tom that they would get to it as soon as they could and they would call me when the diagnostic was completed. Wednesday morning came around and I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called. They advised me that Stan was working on it as we spoke and that he would call me when he came up with a conclusion. No call for the remainder of Wednesday. I called Thursday morning and spoke with Stan over the phone, in which he replied "oh I worked on that the other day" and proceeded to tell me what was wrong. After explaining what came from the compression test, Stan proceeded to tell me that they do not work on Toyota vehicles, only Subaru and Honda, and that he would not be able to offer anymore services BUT that I still needed to pay the $100 diagnostic fee. He also couldn't give me a recommendation on who would be able to work on my vehicle. By the way, the first sentence on Sunrise's website is they specialize in Honda, Subaru and TOYOTA. Not only did they not advise UP FRONT that they would not be able to do work on my vehicle once the diagnostic was completed, but they had my car for 4 days with NO phone call. I, the customer, had to check on the status TWICE. Upon my arrival to retrieve my vehicle, I started to voice my frustration in which Stan mentioned that they could do the diagnostic but they wouldn't work on the vehicle due to the amount of work that was required because they don't work on Toyota. If there is a compression test needed, most likely there would be long term work and they should have advised me before scheduling an appointment. My fiance started to speak and before he finished his first sentence, Stan rudely interrupted him by walking to the back of his shop, jump started my car, brought my car up front and told us he wouldn't charge the fee and to take my car and leave. He then stated "good luck trying to find someone to throw parts at it" and stomped back to the back of the shop. By the way, my vehicle is currently being worked on by Frank and Mike at Precision Driveline! They provide EXCELLENT service. AND they got back to us within 24 hours of dropping off my car. read more

I am surprised this business doesn't have more reviews. I have been using them for the past ten years and never been disappointed or felt like they were taking advantage of a woman. Several times I have taken a vehicle in and they would say, nope, nothing to fix or you have at least six months more before we need to replace the brakes. Doesn't get better than that. Having confidence in who works on your vehicle is pretty huge I think. I use them for all three of my cars and would highly recommend them. read more

The flashers in my car were coming on all the time and draining my battery. I've had to put a new battery in it twice because it had become a cronic problem. It got so bad that I was unhooking the battery when ever I would leave it for more than an hour. I went to more than one dealer and they had no explanation why it was happening and they wanted to hook it up to the diagnostic computer for a large fee and there was no guarantee it would tell me what was wrong. Someone at the last dealer recommended that I go to Sunrise Automotive because they specialize in these cars and they know the older ones backwards and forwards. I went there and the gentleman at the counter came out and looked at it and asked for the keys. He turned the key reach under the dash pressed a button and that fixed the problem. He said because the battery was disconnected the button reset the system. He refused my attempts to pay him and said it was nothing. Where do you find this level of customer service? I made a note to myself that for every local merchant I am totally impressed with and a loyal customer; I will write a review. Today was easy; dropped off my 2000 Honda Accord for an oil change. Can I say I miss not coming here. Anyway, dropped it off at 8 a.m. and picked it up by 11 a.m. He noted that my breaks were getting low and the next time I have an oil change which won't be til next year since this car is only driven 3,500 miles a year; that I need new breaks. He also noted a nail in the rear tire. I so appreciate knowing these things I need to take care of. I think if I took it to a regular dealer they would have just said you need the break job and its going to cost you $800. Yes, I am pretty sure of that. Please use this local merchant.
