I went in around 7:30, and service was fast. The staff were nice. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla and my husband got a sesame bagel with jalapeno spread. They got my order wrong but they were quick to apologize and get it rectified. My husband said his spread was a tad salty, but nothing more. I've literally been coming to Sunrise Bagels since I could eat solid foods (26 YEARS), and it hasn't changed a bit. The bagels are consistently good and the service is fine for a bagel shop in New Jersey - not overly warm, but definitely NOT unfriendly. I stopped in today for a Black Russian Bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomato, and onion (just as good as always). At 8AM on a Saturday, there was basically no line and we were out of there in 10 minutes. This place will forever be my go-to in the area! Side note: the bagels in California are horrendous, so my mom once flew with Sunrise Bagels to visit me - just as delicious after a 6 hour flight! read more

Wow. That's all I can say I ordered the Cajun chicken wrap which was spicy but very tasty with honey mustard; also got the Manhattan which had so much mozzarella which was hot and melted when I bit into it extremely delicious! I shared with my friends we both had half of each sandwich and it was so delicious we had sauce dripping down our faces, so glad we ordered ahead and picked it up because the line was out the door on a Tuesday and I can see why! My sister and I stopped in this morning for some breakfast. Having fasted I was hungry so the choice of the Meat Lovers Omelete platter was a no brainer! The platter came with home fries and a bagel Of choice with butter. When my platter was delivered to our table I was like "WOW"! The omelette was huge-contained a loaded heap of crispy bacon, ham slices, two sausage patties and Taylor Ham slices. The home fries were served in foil on a separate plate and had nicely cooked green peppers and fried onions-tasty! My everything bagel was nice and chewy. However they missed the butter , no biggie had to butter myself. I honestly could not finish my platter My sis got the Western omelette platter same big loaded omelette loaded with ham , green peppers and onions, she didn't even miss her usual add on of cheese. She opted for toast instead of a bagel and it was also missing the butter which they gave us a container of which was plenty. The store was very clean and had indoor and outdoor seating. Found this little gem by accident. Stopped in to get a bagel but after looking at the menu, I decided to get the Western Omelet Platter. It came with a bagel or toast and home fries. The Western Omelet is made with 3 eggs and includes your choice of cheese, which I chose cheddar. Served with a bagel or toast and these absolutely delicious home fries. My only complaint was that the toast was not buttered. The omelet is so big, that I couldn't finish it. It's truly enough for 2 people. The potatoes are so good, but again, large portion, couldn't finish it. Best part, it was less than $8! Unheard of! So delicious, reasonable, huge portion...what more could you ask for? It was never like this before ! The past few years has gone downhill fast. The place used to be packed on Sunday mornings, lines almost to the door now there's barely anyone and you still wait for ten minutes! This place has good food, but they're by far one of the slowest places in the whole wide world. I went, ordered, and the cashier lady didn't ask me for my name, so I was waiting for my food when I realized that people who ordered after me were getting served. I asked where my food was and they had chose not to serve me because my order had no name on it. So here I was, waiting for a breakfast sandwich and a toasted bagel with avocado and they just left it on the counter without a care in the world. They legitimately have 6 people working in the back and none of them have zero sense of urgency or self-awareness. Easily one of the slowest, mentally unaware, and negative group of workers I've ever met and they're better off models who pose for artists that paint art of serious-looking people because they would just have to stand still and look pissed - exactly what they do when they're working at Sunrise. NO ACCOUNTABILITY for their mistakes! DO NOT eat here. Placed an order on-line via Uber Eats. Ordered western omelette platter, Taylor ham and egg bagel WITHOUT cheese and one with cheese. What I received was 2 taylor ham and eggs sandwiches WITH cheese. My daughter has a dairy allergy and could not eat. Upon calling sunrise, I was told they could not help me and I had to call Uber Eats. Seriously? The $1.10 it costs to make the sandwich they couldn't tell me they'd could make the correct one and I could just pick it up? While Uber Eats delivered my food, it sure as heck did not make it. I have enjoyed the bagels at Sunrise for many years, and they are even better under the new owners. However service is just unacceptable. Sandwiches are never done correctly, bacon under cooked, eggs made incorrectly, missing ingredients, in addition, the portions by the size containers are never filled! Sandwiches fillings smaller including the extra's (i.e Lettuce, tomato, extra) and the prices are higher. They have a great selection of beverages (along with fresh coffee) and the food is delicious. If you like being "served with a smile" move somewhere with universal healthcare. This is New Jersey, and Sunrise is likely the most authentic bagel shop in Wayne. Whole Wheat Everything Bagel with Veggie Cream Cheese for me and a Chicken Caesar Wrap for my lady. Chicken was freshly cooked and proportionate to the amount of salad / dressing. My bagel is always delicious, as I have tested the local bagel scene's veggie cream cheese I have come to the conclusion Sunrise has the best in town. I've lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and I've been going to this place for years. It's convenient but I really have to say something. The results are extremely inconsistent here. What's worse is that I try to give specific instructions so that the inconsistency is limited but everything I say is completely ignored. It's not complicated: Bagel, extra toasted, bacon egg and cheddar cheese. There is nothing I can do to get the to actually toast the bagel correctly. Sometimes I get American cheese regardless of what I ask for. Sometimes the bacon is undercooked. I'm always there early. Sometimes at 6 AM and there are 5 people behind the counter but they still can't do a simple thing I ask. I hope the owner reads this and reevaluates the situation. I don't want to keep paying for disappointment and with the convenience of Uber Eats and Door Dash I can get bagels from a dozen other places easily. read more

I love Sunrise bagels, the best in the area! My only reason for the 3 stars is that when I order breakfast sandwiches, the bacon is never cooked to be crispy, it's almost raw looking. I've gone in this place countless times as a " I want a bagel so bad, this place will have to do" food break. Normally this place is packed so we don't get so annoyed if something we order isn't perfect. Today however, there was no excuse. I was one of 2 people in there. Ordered the simplest sandwich in the world. (Bacon and egg on a poppy bagel) to go. Getting to the car I opened it up, I think I've seen a 5 year old make a better sandwich with plastic food. What happened to this delightful bagel shop? This morning. Saturday, Aug 8th I tried calling an order in but they decided it was too busy for them to pick up. When I got there, it didn't seem that things were all that busy, about 10:00 AM. Nice busy but it would seem there has been a change of ownership and this will most likely be my last trip. Help is inexperienced, rude and they could care less what happens in this business. Who says to customers " OMG, we are so busy!!" What does that mean? We don't want your business or we don't care? All I kept hearing from the rather inexperienced counter help, rude, high schooler's was that they were so so busy. Really? This is a bagel shop on a Saturday morning. Are they really complaining that it is too busy???? $38 order I had to check it 3 times and I still got home with the wrong kind of bagels! I ordered 1/2 lb Nova, egg salad, a sandwich. plain cream cheese and 12 bagels; 6 everything, 2 cin/rai and the rest plain. The first time I was ready to leave the store i realized the sandwich wasn't in the bag. I then walked out to return because there was no cream cheese. Finally coming home I realized I didn't check what bagels were in the bag and found that I had all cin/rais. Really?? Was it that difficult? The bagels that were once incredible were now terrible/horrible. Doughy, chewy and everything you don't want in a bagel. What happened to the great bagels from Sunrise in Wayne? The nova, may I add is quite expensive, is really good but 1 slice was practically the entire 1/2 lb. Are they using a machine rather than slicing it by hand? Seems to me that this deli's specialty is wraps. Vast selection of wraps and other sandwiches, most a bargain at $6.15. Counter service, seating available. Very busy place so sometimes we have to wait a few minutes at lunch for a table. Friendly service at the counter but can be annoying while you wait along with a crowd of other people. Order and pickup is from the same short counter. On a plus side coffee is decent and self-serve. It is not high up on my lunch list but it is very popular.. Decent food at the price. read more

Today was a bagel with butter and a scrambled egg with Taylor ham- husband checked because after waiting 20 minutes and everyone prior and after us being gone we were a bit annoyed. My boyfriend asked for his home fries well done & the guy was like "we don't do that" like just leave them in longer. The Swiss cheese that was supposed to be in my omlette was non-existant and the egg itself tasted like it was wrapped in plastic it was so bad.
