Ok, I retired from writing reviews but you know... I started this third-wave coffee journey after realizing I was mostly buying coffee from larger stores where the roast dates were usually two to three months old. One month old if I got lucky. And listen, there are some great third-wave coffee roasters on those shelves but the problem is freshness. At the time, I was deep into the pour-over coffee rabbit hole, and I kept passing this little coffee spot with a sign that basically said "Need more coffee? We roast it here," with arrows pointing down. And for some reason, I kept ignoring it. The sign wasn't fancy. It wasn't trying to be trendy. It didn't have the polished third-wave café aesthetic from the outside. It was just a simple roadside sign telling you exactly what mattered: they roast coffee here. Eventually I thought, "Wait a minute. If they're roasting coffee right here, why am I still buying bags from bigger stores with roast dates that are two to three months old?" So one day, I finally pulled in. Immediately - and I mean immediately - I realized I had completely judged this place wrong. This was a serious third-wave coffeehouse. And honestly, when you think about it, the sign is actually genius. A sinple sign that says "Need more coffee? We roast it here" is probably only going to attract people who actually care about proper coffee. Classic case of don't judge a book by its cover. Because now? I can't really get my coffee anywhere else. I've had some of the best coffees here. One year they had this Colombian Santa Maria light roast, high-elevation that totally changed my mind about Colombian coffees. I had always thought of Colombian coffees as more medium-roast, classic coffee profiles, but that one opened my eyes. Right now, they have this Fara Estate Nicaraguan light-medium roast that is absolutely delicious. They have a serious-looking pour-over setup with custom V60 holders and gooseneck kettle setup, so you can tell this is not just a place that sells coffee. This is a place that actually understands coffee. If you're the kind of person who checks roast dates, owns a V60, argues with yourself about grind size, or has ever fallen way too deep into the coffee rabbit hole, this place is worth stopping for. And if you're not that person yet, this might be the place that turns you into one. read more

I've been enjoying Juan (AKA Bruce's) roasts since the early KoffeeWagon days. Sumatra was a favorite, bourbon barrel, actually all of them. Juan introduced me to pour overs. This cafe is so close to me and I drive by all the time but have never been. Well that changed last week! I stopped in on Tuesday morning after an appt on Rt 23 and it was busy! The wait took a few minutes since there was only one person working behind the counter, but he was friendly and working as fast as he could. This isn't my everyday spot, even though it's literally on my daily route, because let's be honest, I don't buy chaos that often. But when I do stop in? It's always a treat. Like a little reward for surviving life. I remember this place during COVID. Empty. Deserted. Sahara level emptiness. One heroic worker holding the line, staring into the void, still making coffee like a champion. Back then my go to was their coconut cold brew... which, thank God, is STILL on the menu. Do yourself a favor and try it. It got me through lockdown emotionally. And yes, I still went to coffee shops during lockdown, coffee was essential, don't argue with me. Fast forward to today and WOW. This place has absolutely blown up, in the best way. Every time I walk in now, there are people ordering, hanging out, working remotely, pretending they're writing novels, the whole vibe. Clearly they've got regulars, but the coolest part? The baristas still help you right away and don't make you feel like you interrupted their coffee cult meeting. Immediate love. No awkwardness. Honestly, between the decor, the people, the drinks, and how clean everything is, this place just gets it. It's warm, it's cool, it's consistent, and it somehow went from "COVID ghost town" to "community hub" without losing its soul. So no, it's not my everyday stop, but when I do come, I leave happier, caffeinated. They absolutely rock it. read more

I was informed about this specialty latte for a dog that's in a shelter, so I got that and was pleasantly surprised. It was a great pick me up for the morning. My wife and I were in the area for a craft fair. So of course I was on Yelp looking for the perfect coffee shop! Cabana Coffee Company is right up my alley, extremely coffee focused! The perfect coffee shop for my wife and I has pour over for me and creative lattes for my wife. Cabana delivers that in a major way. They roast their own coffee and the baristas were polite and knowledgeable. I was tempted by their double dark roast or their hyper caffeinated El Chapo but the barista recommended their medium roast Legender for a first time customer. Glad he did, it was smooth and flavorful. My wife loved the foam on her chai tea latte. Plenty of comfortable seating, cozy and nicely decorated for the holiday season, and a clean bathroom rounded out a very pleasant experience! read more

Wonderful coffee spot with fantastic pour over at reasonable prices and large cups. I believe I spent $3.50 for an organic pour over. Definitely worth it and there are other organic bean offering there as well. Really great taste and if you want decaf it is Swiss water decaf processed not with chemicals like trichlorethylene which is a metal cleaner. Bruce has done a great job they roast their own can't say much more about this great coffee place on route 23. Worth it for me to take the ride. Some of the best coffee grounds around. I've bought from cabana a multitude of times and have always been impressed. Once I started buying their coffee grounds it got even better. I tried this ground of theirs called Mudd which is extra extra roasted, and it's amazing. Such a unique flavor and very fairly priced for a bag. I'll always be a customer here. read more

Excellent tasting coffee and they have organic beans which isn't overly common at many coffee shops. No drip coffee, because it's all freshly made to order via pour over. They roast their own beans, as well. Tried the organic Sumatra and was impressed. They have four reading chairs, a couple high tops, and a large 6 seater table. They sell bags of beans and a few miscellaneous coffee accessories. Def worth a visit. read more

At a speciality coffee house paying premium for a coffee drink you expect consistency and attention to detail. 1st time here, we were super impressed with the quality of the chocolate covered strawberry lattes ( barista even drizzled chocolate on bottom of lattes) we didn't mind spending the $$. However the 2nd time, Chai latte was better from a supermarket paid extra for oat milk AND the chocolate covered latte was like a collata from Dunkin and barista didn't even bother to drizzle the bottom of cup with chocolate... So not sure if we will ever come back considering there within the neighborhood... super disappointed.. read more

Pros: 1) They have comfy couches with cozy lighting and window(s). 2) The hot chocolate on a cold rainy day is excellent. 3) The Chocolate Brownie Bar (confection) and White Chocolate Blondie Bar (confection) were excellent with the chai latte, coffee, or hot chocolate. I can't believe I've lived in Wayne for years and never knew of this place! First off the man at the counter is super friendly and the chai latte was delicious! The interior is very cozy with comfortable chairs and they play good music, definitely a great spot to work from "home". Best part is it's dog friendly and they offer puppacinos! 10/10 recommend I can't wait to go back and try some other drinks! I noticed they had maple flavor so I'm excited to try that! read more

The small coffee I paid a medium size for.... I always support local small coffee shops and Cabana Coffee is usually one of my go-to's. They have great coffee and atmosphere however after today I'm going to rethink about going to them. Today was the second incident where I asked for a certain size or certain coffee and they give me the wrong one and they don't acknowledge it and make it correct. Today I asked for a medium size latte with almond milk and a little cinnamon on top. They were busy which I understand but when my coffee came out, it was a small. I told the girl I asked for a medium and paid for a medium. Her response was: "I could change the cup but the medium is the same amount of expresso shots and just more milk." I looked at the time and was running a little late so I just said i'll just take the small. But in my head, I'm like, if I paid for medium, give me a medium. What's gets to me is that she didn't acknowledge she made a mistake and just fixed it. Another time I asked for hot coffee and they have me iced after I told them twice I wanted hot and still no acknowledgment. They do have great coffee and all but I don't want to keep paying more for something less. read more
