I can only judge this place from one sausage biscuit. It was a good biscuit. My dog really enjoyed it too.

To me, there's no comparison between Sunrise and Bojangles. Sure, it's easier to use the drive-through at Bojangles, seeing as how you don't have to make a nearly 180 degree turn to get to the speaker like you do at Sunrise. However, having sampled most of the menu, I can say that the food at Sunrise is far superior. I don't love their ridiculously greasy hashbrowns, but the grits are fantastic. I usually order the much-mentioned chicken biscuit, which is not only enormous, but fairly cheap. Also, the review written in December 2006 says that they only take cash, but they do now take credit and debit cards. For me, the best part is that if I bring my dog with me, the folks working the window will usually offer to give her a small piece of biscuit, free of charge. The employees are always super-nice to me, but the fact that they're also puppy-friendly makes me love this place even more. read more

I ordered a sausage biscuit and cinnamon bun at about 6:45 AM. The biscuit left something to be desired. The cheese was not melted and the biscuit was cold and pretty dry. It could have used a pad of butter and a few seconds in the microwave. The cinnamon bun, however, blew my mind! SO delicious and HUGE! I'll definitely be returning for the cinnamon buns. read more

One of my coworkers introduced me to this small but wonderful place. I was told to try one of their cinnamon rolls. Hands down, the BEST cinnamon roll I have ever had in my life!!! For about $3.99 (maybe less) you can get a chicken biscuit that comes with a side and a drink (tea or coffee). The chicken and biscuit themselves are outrageously large, easily double that of a bojangles biscuit. They offer many sides, including a giant cinnamon bun or your typical hashbrown to accompany your biscuit of choice. This place is really a 3.5. I tried this place after seeing about it and hearing so much about it. I love old school institutions and this place does not disappoint. It's only drive through and they have one menu that hopefully you can see. They really should consider more than 1 menu. We had to pull up the window to order and she didn't look happy. It was our first time there and we didn't have a Chance to look at the menu fully so no I didn't know what my drink options were. She was NOT Happy and she seriously rolled her eyes and let out a deep breath. Chick, I'm sorry you had to wake up early to go to work but you need to be a little more patient! At any rate, let's talk about the food. So, they are famous for their biscuits. I wasn't that impressed. They were kind of crumbly and too gooey. The chicken was good. I asked for some mayo and I promise you it was a thumbnails worth. Therefore, this biscuit is dry! Make sure you have something to drink. My aunt asked for a basically a piece of ham on a hamburger bun. I know it's not conventional, but that's what she wanted. She got the bun with a skimpy piece of ham. It barely covered the bread. She liked it but it wasn't worth $2. Anyway, if the owners read this please understand that everyone is not familiar with your place and may need a bit more time. Just ask your workers to be a bit nicer. I can't promise I will be back bc it just wasn't that great. They sell burgers and hotdogs too, so maybe. But if you are in town and want to stop by a well known establishment, go for it! You might have a different experience. read more

The female cashier with the red head is always rude to me when I come up to the window. "Whatcha want?" Is what she starts.. I don't even know her and she is like this. I rather go on a day when the other mature woman is working, than to have a customer/employee interaction with rudeness. I wouldn't want to start my mornings off with her. But today she went over with when I ask her for 6 packages of ketchup because she always gives 2 like it's her job on the line. Do I need to pay for extra ketchup? Just ask me and I will or tell me that there is an extra charge for extra ketchup. The way she responded was degrading and out right uncalled for. I don't know when it comes to asking for ketchup she gets into a temper tantrum. She made a gesture with her hand like she was twirling a twig between her fingers and said "buh" like I couldn't ask for condiments. You can tell the amount of respect she has for Sunrise's customers. If she's related to the owner of Sunrise, then I'm looking else where to find ok service. This was just below poor. read more

There's a good reason there is usually a line of cars extending in to Franklin St by Estes on weekend mornings and that reason is amazing biscuits. Pair a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit with hash browns and sweet tea for the perfect Southern hangover breakfast. If you have a dog in your car, they have been known to pop an extra biscuit in your bag for your dog too! Even though the line is usually quite long, it's definitely worth it. I don't quite understand the obsession with Sunrise. I grew up in Chapel Hill and always felt there were better places for biscuits. Their ingredients often seem cheap or pre-cooked (don't even try their bacon). Their biscuits are doughy but not as tasty. They have amazing cinnamon rolls, though, and decent hash browns. But Rise Biscuits in Durham to me is hands down the best biscuits in the Triangle- and their ingredients all taste a lot better, and are often local, too. read more

I really don't get the rave reviews. One of the worst breakfasts we have had (eggs, ham, biscuit with gravy, hash browns). It was greasy, the hash browns were super soggy, the biscuit was so so, and the gravy was thick and meh. I prefer McDonalds to this place. read more
