This is definitely a hidden gem. I worked across from it for 2 years and never knew it existed! The food is a little on the high price but the portions at huge. I enjoyed the salad special of the day and breadsticks ... Yum! The salad consisted of Chinese crunchy noodles, mandarin oranges and shredded chicken. It was light and flavorful, so definitely didn't feel bad piggin out on the breadsticks. The breadsticks were warm and fresh. This place made perfect for an afternoon much with coworkers The wait staff is very nice and on their game. If your on a time crunch, it's easy to get in and out pretty quick! read more

I work in the area and love grabbing a quick bite for lunch from Sunrise. The half sandwich, soup and chips combo for $9 is worth it every single time. Only thing is last time I had a sandwich it had more sauerkraut than I would have liked but overall the quality of the food is great and the soup is amazing. read more

What Sunrise does very well: salads, soups, breadsticks (with cheese sauce) and everything-breakfast. Sandwiches/chicken fingers not great. They close at 2pm, so not a dinner option. I'm a lunch time regular - love the combo with 'salad of the day' and breadsticks. I get carryout frequently (the owner answers and is friendly - always ready in 5-10 minutes), and the salads are always big and fresh. Not a place for foodies,but a great place for breakfast and lunch staples (their salads are always my lunch of choice). Owners and servers have always been great. If you like bowling alley food this place is on the money...of course this would be a bit rude to a bowling alley. The owner's wife said she knew the dagger was in because they didn't serve breakfast. That's why I'm yelping them!!! Really??? You're going to say that to paying customers? We would have been satisfied if the lunch food was good. The quality was just not there. They excuse it by saying there restaurant is small it only sits 100 people. Ok... so Starbucks seats a quarter of that and has a better sandwich. Standards have changed and customers have a higher expectations of a sit-down diner. The food was terrible. I.e. The Rueben sandwich had American cheese...served with a side of Ruffles. The taco salad had Fritos on it...I'm sensing a chip pattern here. I wouldn't recommend this place. Great Spot! They are consistently good for breakfast and lunch. For lunch they have the best PBJ ON SWIRL RYE AND STRAWBERRY PRESERVES. For breakfast our favorite is their cinnamon toast. My husband and I typically split one of their generous sized quiche's. But their eggs ate always spot on and their pancakes are big thin snd really good too. They also have great steel cut oatmeal. The staff greats us by name and give great service. They also have a delish chicken salad. They are on the 31 side of an office building but well worth taking the time to find them. read more

I took my daughter to brunch on Sunday. One of the owners was seeding people and I told her it was my first time there and she said oh let me know how it is when you're done. I got eggs benedict. When it got to my table I realized that the whites on the eggs were not set and they just poured hollandaise on top of the uncooked whites. I asked them to take it back because they're not poached eggs if the whites are not set. This is a fact of poached eggs. The owner came over and told me that's how they do their eggs. They don't cook the whites all the way through and nobody ever complains. I informed her that they are not poached eggs if the whites don't set completely. She argued with me and said I was condescending to her. I was not being condescending. I was trying to give my opinion and help their restaurant out. If you're going to get mad at somebody for telling you something they didn't like and say if you don't like it don't come back cuz that's how we do things here, then don't ask people to tell you how things were at the end of the meal. She should have probably said hey if your meal is great then tell me how it was. I told the owner that if they think that a poached egg should have uncooked whites and it's still approached egg, they should have a conversation with any chef in the country. Again I was not trying to be rude to them. I was trying to let them know that they were not cooking their eggs properly. People have been poaching eggs for thousands of years and it's not approached egg if the whites don't set. read more

The food is ok just average diner food. The service sucks with regard to follow up. The waiter took our order and delivered it in a timely fashion but then he did a disappearing act. He failed to stop back and check on us and that's my number one pet peeve. This is not the first time it's happened here and with different servers both male and female. God I hate this place. I love diner food and it's hard to mess up on things that are unhealthy (aka iceberg lettuce and fried things), but everything here is mediocre. The hashbrowns are SO buttery, the fries are between a soggy and crispy, the strawberry salad is kinda gross. The only thing good here are the chicken fingers; hard to mess up on that one. Also, the service is alright -- they are curt on the phone and there is a woman who keeps complaining about how business is slow; with the food and prices...you'd wonder why. Went here for brunch with family on a Sunday after church, something we do each week. There was no wait (refreshing, since we ALWAYS wait with a party of 9) and the staff was friendly and attentive. Menu is pretty limited on the weekends, but we all found something we wanted. I got the ham and cheese quiche with hash browns and it was delicious. It's a good place to eat for the business folks in the area looking for a quick spot to eat. Otherwise it is hard to find. It's in an office building and you wouldn't easily find even with the address. I think the food was fine. I'll go again to use up my groupon and that's about it. Disappointed! Eggs were over easy when I ordered over medium. Hash browns weren't hot, waited a very long time for refill on coffee and had to ask twice. Too much money for so-so food. I go, it's miserable, and then I wait a year or two and try again. I don't know why it is so hard to make breakfast? How can you mess up eggs, bacon and toast? Came here to get breakfast today, ordered a breakfast sandwich and some hot cakes. By far the worst food I have received at an establishment. The hot cakes were burnt and tasted awful, the bread for the sandwich tasted stale and the hash browns were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Ate there today for the first time. Service was fine, prices were fairly reasonable, (except for the $1.95 extra charge to sub french fries.) Food was very mediocre. My Asian salad was OK, although dripping in dressing. Husband's breaded tenderloin wasTERRIBLE. If you are familiar with "Pete's Pride" frozen products in the supermarkets - this was exactly what it tasted like. Huge, but super-cheap taste. Mushy and flavorless. Probably won't return, except possibly to use a Deal Chicken coupon which wasn't accepted today. :( I tried to show them the certificate on my phone, and I hadn't printed it out. Not accepted. My husband was plenty mad that he had to pay full price for such a lousy sandwich, and told me that he would NEVER go back. PLUS, we drove around and around before we could actually find the place. I was asked to leave today at lunch by the owner not because I was loud, belligerent, or uncouth. I was asked to leave because I did not order a drink in the first 2 min of me siting down. I literally was in my seat for 2 min. before being asked to leave by the owner. I do understand how frustrating it is for wait staff to not make money because customers are few and far between. Arrived at 11:50am and they closed at 12 noon- or actually earlier as I was told they were not interested in my group's business that morning and it was suggested we could return the next day as they would be open until 2pm (or, probably closer to 1:30pm based on my experience). Pitiful. Disasterous. Gross. Sad. Without warning, our large group was placed in a nasty old back room with carpet that came accessorized with toothpicks, dried food chunks, and wires sticking out of the electrical outlets, no windows, blank walls, fluorescent lights and crappy conference room tables. It's their "conference room" for overflow seating. Waited forever for coffee, no sugar, no table service. After ordering, over 1.5 hour wait for our food. No servers in sight. There was one other family in the room with our group and eventually we found the coffee at the server station and started serving ourselves and the other table and they reciprocated. A coarse and curly black hair was found in the hash browns. No apologies for any of it. When the owner was approached at the cash register regarding the horrible experience when it was time to pay she was defensive and said to reflect my feelings in the tip, which I refuse to do. It isn't the fault of the server that the food took over 1.5 hours and the facility is nasty. This place should be put out of business. read more

I bought a Groupon and was excited to try another breakfast/brunch spot in my area. We arrived just after noon on a Saturday and were met at the hostess stand by an extremely rude wait staff. She greeted me with, "Mam, we're closed." I asked what time they closed and she informed me 11:30 am. I simply said that I had looked on their website and it said they were open for lunch, so I was confused. She repeated the same statement of "Mam, we're closed." I said I understood that but only wanted them to know what the website said in case they needed to make a correction. She repeated the same phrase. I told her I heard her the first time and she pointed behind me. I turned around to see a man standing at the counter who curtly informed me that the internet was correct and they were not open for lunch for the past 25 years they have been in existence (the internet says they are). He said if we wanted to eat there, we would have to drive to another town where his brother's establishment stays open later. I said no thanks, I'll just get my money back. I will never return, especially with so many other great breakfast places with friendly staff in the area. read more
