This is one of our favorite places for breakfast on Sundays morning. We're here at least once a month, sometimes more. My favorite that I get every single time is the build your own omelette with hash browns (nice and crispy) and ALWAYS the cinnamon sugar toast on sourdough. Pancakes are also pretty good. Thin and have good flavor. Sometimes also get the half order of B&G as the sausage gravy is outstanding. The biscuits have been changed in the last year or so and not that great. Also, personally, I'm not a fan of their own ketchup (we typically bring our own packets when remembered). Lastly, our server the last couple of times has been outstanding. Always attentive to what you need and checks on you an appropriate amount of times. We finally remembered to ask his name today and it's Max. Ask for him next time, you won't be sorry. read more

The food here is not bad depending on what you get. For breakfast the omelettes are good and so are the pancakes, but definitely.....and I mean definitely.....don't get the corn beef hash. OMG, their corn beef hash is just diced up processed corn beef sprinkled on top of some overcooked hash browns. UGH !! It made my stomach hurt. For lunch try the Double Swiss Mushroom Burger or the Philly Steak. Both are good. The servers are nice and attentive, but the restaurant is tired and needs a refresh. The prices are a little high for the quality of food, but again it depends on what you get. There's lots of parking. read more

11.12.25 went for an early lunch with a friend (11:20am), we're seated right away. I had the eggs Benedict with hash browns, and asked for my eggs done medium and an extra side of hollandaise. This was my 1st time here, and it seems like it has been bought by Uptown Cafe - logo inside and also note about the homemade strawberry jam (which is sooo good), English muffins (which seems more like bread, not nook and vramny-ish), etc. Also they use homemade ketchup, which I'm not a huge fan of, ha. Anyway, so food came out quickly, everything was a ordered. The room itswlf was a little.cold so i dont know if my food was hot and just cooled off so quickly, or if everything just wasn't that hot. The hollandaise sauce was fluffy but not lemony. The extra side was a good portion. Had to ask for a soda refill and would have liked another at the end. Our absolute favorite place for breakfast in Fishers! The options are vast and so many excellent ones from oatmeal and fruit/yogurt parfaits on the healthy side to great egg dishes and biscuits and gravy when we feel 'healthy enuf'. Max is our 'go to' server such that we are disappointed when he's not working. So personable and efficient such that we call the cafe 'Max's'. read more

Eggs Benedict was prepared with way too much hollandaise sauce. And the ham used was a very sweet (seemed like packaged) not fresh sliced. Not good. Could only eat one of the two. Stomach was upset even before leaving the restaurant. Hash-browns were good unfortunately I put (their signature) Ketchup on before tasting. Not a good Ketchup tasted over the top sweet. Breakfast is good! I would return again since I live so close. Our waitress was very nice and attentive so that made the experience nice. It was very busy on a Friday morning at around 8:30am but by the time we left at 9:30am it wasn't as bad. There was a TON of cinnamon on my cinnamon bread so next time I'll ask for them to go light on that because I couldn't fully enjoy it with the original amount but I just scraped it off. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our well worn out sit. My boyfriend had somewhere he had to be in 30 min so we asked for recommendations on what to get from our friendly waiter. He recommended burritos that he had accidentally made the day before. We had breakfast burritos that were recommended by our waiter and they were scrumptious and to die for. The service was fast, friendly and timely and the food unique and timely. I recommend this place. read more

This is a great little breakfast place tucked away in a strip mall next to Krogers. One thing: they were bought by another restaurant and kind of go by 2 diff names. Sunrise is on the front but inside it's different...either way, the food was really good (standard breakfast fare, not froo-froo stuff) and not too expensive. read more

It took 30 seconds from the time we finished ordering till we got our food. It's basically microwave food. Pancakes looked like they were from a box. Eggs Benedict were on a piece of chewy bread rather than a muffin. Waitress was nice and punctual. This location used to be Sunrise Cafe. I don't know if this new "Uptown Cafe" is related to the other Uptown locations around this area or not. Seems like I recall the food being better at the other Uptown Cafes. read more

What a difference since the change of ownership. Bad service, terrible food. I couldn't tell you one server's name. Everything was either burnt, dry, salty, or all of the above. They promote homemade bread and it was disgusting. Did not taste homemade. Place was clean enough but the waitress had long nails that got caught on the cream pitcher and spilled it on the table. The waitress also brought our water glasses to the table by holding the edges of the glass where we drink from. A big turn off visit for me. read more

I was greeted with a smiling face when I came through the door. I ordered the Combo 3 breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties and 2 dry wheat toast and a glass of orange juice. The food was hot when it was served to me. The eggs were cooked perfectly, scrambled and not browned all over. The sausage patties had small but hard grissel nuggets in them. The strawberry preserves that was served with the toast was the best I've tasted in awhile. The place was clean and quiet. The waitress was very friendly. We haven't tried this location in maybe 2 years. The food quality has sunk since then. We decided to try it today. Mistake. Ordered sausage and gravy with biscuits and coffee. Wife had an omelet. Pretty much some of the worst biscuits I've had. Hungry Jack out of a can are better. The gravy was bland and just lacked overall flavor for an Indiana sausage gravy. The coffee at a breakfast spot should be spot on excellent. This tasted like Folgers, or a Folger's knockoff. My wife said her omelet was dry as a bone and she'd only had one worse...at an IHOP where they put pancake batter in the omelet. How do you make an omelet dry as a bone? If you are looking for a breakfast spot, this isn't it. I'd suggest Wild Eggs...which isn't that far away from this spot. read more

This place is one of my faves to go to for breakfast foods! Depending on when you get there, as with most places, you are seated within minutes of being greeted by the hostess. It has a small town cafe type vibe to it...with the wood grain seating and the traditional cafe coffee cup (for the coffee peeps out there, or the cafe-type regulars, you know what I'm talking about). There's a no pressure vibe to place your order...which is really nice...especially when you have kiddos or when you have gone there to get some downtime from kiddos. Once you place your order, the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time...and is nice and hot...but, not too hot. The food is tasty and they have this housemaid strawberry jam that I would recommend. Overall...a nice place to go an unwind and enjoy reasonably price breakfast food or kick back and drink coffee or hot chocolate at your leisure. read more

In our continued effort to support local restaurants and businesses during the pandemic, we reached out to Sunrise Cafe and they did not disappoint! From phoning in our order to picking it up curbside, the service we received was so friendly and prompt! Our food items were packaged with care and still piping hot when we got home. 2 stars. Breakfast here was just so-so. We had the bacon pancakes and the bacon was overcooked, while the pancakes were kinda undercooked and mushy in the middle. The French toast was atrocious. It was thin white bread that was griddled and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. Inedible. My sausage patties were rubbery - like they were cooked in a microwave. You know those fully cooked kind that you just pop in for a bit and go? Not a fan. If I'm gonna pay $11 for eggs, sausage, hash browns, and sub-par French toast - I would appreciate fresh sausage. We dined in for the first time since restaurants reopened and was disappointed to be seated so close to others. It was uncomfortable. However, the staff all wore masks and were very pleasant and attentive. Hashbrowns were crispy and delicious. Chicken & Wild Rice soup was decent enough. Why haven't I been here yet?!? Wow. First, I really like the atmosphere of this place. Besides the fact that it was a bright, beautiful day outside, it was just as bright on the inside. Social distancing was practiced in seating availability, masks were worn by all and the energy of the place just felt right, you know? Our server (wish I remembered her name... younger woman with dark hair), was perfect. We were first time customers so she was patient, detailed, gave us great suggestions and even joked with us. This is a great breakfast place. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. The menu includes a lot of gluten free options, they make a gluten free quiche which is delicious and varied daily. You can also request Udi's toast instead of regular bread. They also have a couple regular quiche offerings each day. Plus all the regular breakfast fare. Lines can get long on weekends but on weekdays we can usually walk in and sit. Hubby is in there often enough that the staff recognizes him . They also serve homemade strawberry jam with your bread! No commercial individual packets in this place, I make my own but LOVE theirs too! read more

All in all not a terrible experience but I won't be coming back. I stopped in on a Saturday for breakfast. I ordered their Eggs Benedict. It tasted OK but the the hollandaise sauce was not creamy and did not run over the "poached eggs" which were overcooked and did not run over the luncheon meat style ham ( which was not any different than the pre-packaged ham you get at Aldi or Walmart such as Land of Frost brand) that was apparently slightly cooked on a flat grill. For almost $11 you think they'd give you the traditional Canadian Bacon that itraditonally comes with Eggs Benedict. This therefore was an overpriced replica of Eggs Benedict. The service was fast as the food came very quickly . Most servers seemed engaged and friendly. Restaurant appeared clean. The restroom,however, had a toilet seat that was barely attached. Overall not a bad restaurant but nothing memorable about the meal I purchased except that it wasn't a good Eggs Benedict entree. Not horrible....but nothing I would ever purchase again. read more
