[[HIGHLIGHT]]Once you enter, you will smell the most delicious food from the kitchen. Made me hungry just walking in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chic and elegant decor all around the corners.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Amanda the staff member was so kind and friendly. She helped us with the menu and questions. All the food we got was delicious and packed with flavors. The burger meat was juicy and tender. Fried potatoes were seasoned well. Love their tea. The aroma is so relaxing. They sold the tea leaves and other products too. Parking in the front. Very convenient. A good place for afternoon tea and dinner.

Glad I made reservation for 6:45pm dinner on Valentine Day because this place was packed. When we arrived we were taken to our table right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant had such amazing British vibes with tea sets decoration in the walls and corners, a lot of British posters and arts, was amazing vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu had few of British style bites and sandwiches, but there was an extensive list of teas and coffees. We started with the delicious beef Wellington bites. Crispy outer layer and soft meat inside. For entree we got Banger burger and Birmingham cheesesteak. Both were sooo good. The bread was toasted but soft. The steak was so juicy mixed with caramelized onions and cheese. It would give the Philly cheesesteak a good competition. At the we had the vanilla ice cream that was also creamy and super tasty. Loved the lavender lemonade as well. Our server Amanda was incredible. Her provided an amazing friendly service. All other staff members were very nice too, taking empty plates out of our tables whenever they were walking by. The dishes came out within short time. Despite being British, prices were decent for the items. They also gave free refills for the lemonade. Overall loved the dinner experience. Made the V-day so much better for us.

We stopped at Cheeky Bastards one night before Revival, and to my surprise, it was a hit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was extremely happy that it wasn't busy because we got to sit in the cutest tea room environment and even ask a bunch of questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers and co-owner were such a joy and as friendly as possible. We had a great time, and I will be back for repeat business when I'm in the area. I am also considering one of their afternoon teas--I'm sure it will be fun. I ordered the fish sandwich and was pleased. I had to cut it in half to eat it, and it was the perfect size. The fish was flaky, and the tartar sauce was amazing. I added a little bit of vinegar, and that sandwich was on and poppin'--it was a little food party in my mouth! The French fries were good as well. Overall, 10/10, and I will be back. Thank you to everyone who works here for showing us a great time. Check it out, because I will be back.

Found Cheeky Bastards for late lunch on a Saturday. With a name like Cheeky Bastards and description of British Pub/Tea House we had to stop by. The owner came out and spoke with us. An American who had lived in United Kingdom so he knew and appreciated food influences. The fish and chips recipe took him 4 months to get the recipe from a celebrated 150 yr old fish shop. We believe him. Best fish we'd ever eaten. Malt vinegar is a must. The Notty Ham sandwich was an excellent riff on a club sandwich with an addition of caramelized onion and jam. The Scottish ale was fresh and creamy. Husband really appreciated the ale. We took scones and clotted cream home and enjoyed them the next day. The restaurant offers crumpets, English teas and condiments. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a lovely little bar area slightly segregated from dining which looked inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cheeky Bastards is located in a small strip area in the Geist area of Hamilton County. Parking is available in front and the restaurant is easily accessible. Servers and owners were friendly and offered recommendations. I can't wait to try High Tea in the future!

We had such a wonderful experience. From the greeting at the door to our wonderful table service it was all great. The choice in tea makes it hard to pick just one. We were very impressed with the choices of sandwiches and pastry. A few months ago we had a Tea Service in Chicago that wasn't half as good as this. The cucumber dill and the egg salad I think were my two favorite sandwiches. The strawberry cookie and the carmel brownie were my two favorite pastries. I got a lemon verbena tea that was really good. We may be back for a special occasion. This visit was just because it was something new to do. Totally recommend if you like tea and a bit of culture. Afternoon tea was started in the UK in 1840 by Anna the seventh Duchess of Bedford. The Queen would get peckish between lunch and dinner. It wasn't till the mid 1880s where it became a wide spread affair. In the home finger sandwiches are typically cut into triangles. In hotel settings they are cut into rectangles. Never stir your tea, move the spoon front to back to incorporate milk or sugar.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quaint English restaurant with amazing decor and friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the fish sandwich and fries. After the first bite I thought the fish lacked flavor but after a squeeze of lemon and some sprays of vinegar it was good. The fries were delicious. I will definitely be back to indulge in the atmosphere while partaking in a tea experience.

If You Think You Know Fish & Chips... Think Again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stepped inside and instantly felt like we had crossed the Atlantic into a modern English pub, it had it all, warm lighting, dark wood, a hint of character in every corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We slid into our seats, ordered drinks, and opened the menu. One glance was all it took, and we laughed because we both knew exactly what we came for: fish and chips. When the plates arrived, we just looked at each other in shock. Wow. Massive portions, beautifully plated. This wasn't bar food. This was art. The batter was perfection: crisp and golden, but not that thick, greasy armor other places hide fish in. You could actually taste the fish was fresh, flaky, and tender. And the chips? Hand-cut, perfectly seasoned, with just the right bite. It didn't take long before we were fully silent, the universal sign of a great meal, and then suddenly... there was nothing left on the plate but crumbs and happiness. We had the chance to chat with one of the owners and meet the chef. They told stories of British expats traveling across town because they heard this place had the real deal, that authentic comfort done right. After one bite, we knew exactly why people keep coming back. This isn't just a meal. It's an experience you keep thinking about days later... and craving weeks after. For years, my gold standard for fish and chips was Kona Jack's. But now? I've found a rival, different, but every bit as incredible. I'm already planning my next trip, and I know my friend won't hesitate to join me. If you're anywhere near Geist on Indy's east side or even if you're not, do yourself a favor: go to Cheeky Bastards. Bring your appetite. Bring a friend. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your return.

Had a wonderful first experience at Cheeky Bastards! [[HIGHLIGHT]]My friend had a reservation, and we arrived early. We were seated at a table, and the waitress showed me the Audrey Hepburn space. I was totally in awe. The hostess then offered to move us into that space, and of course we said yes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly, and we even got to chat with Hope, the co-owner, who was amazing. I originally ordered the Lavender Lemon Drop, but it wasn't quite for me, so I switched to the Strawberry Cocktail. It was delicious! I also tried the Banger Burger, which came out fresh and hot. Overall, such a great experience, and I can't wait to come back for their tea time!

Well out of town, my friend and I had to visit this cute pub based on name alone! We got inside it was extremely British and all of the things we could've possibly wanted! We got brunch and I loved all of the fun touches to the menu. The tea list was extensive. The menu was fabulous. I wish we lived closer. I would go more often.

This was such a great experience. The food was amazing! Don't get me started on the sticky toffee pudding! Yum! The service was awesome, super friendly and helpful staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was wonderful, and such an inviting place to spend a morning for brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back!

This was my first time at a British-themed restaurant. We were met at the door by part-owner Hope. She was very friendly, warm, and welcoming! She treated us like family from the start. She told us a bit about the business and her business partner, Robert. Once seated, she went over items we should try. She visited with us for about ten minutes, explaining menu items and sharing stories about her and the business. It was refreshing to feel like family with a stranger! To start, we ordered the Scottish Eggs, which were delicious. For entrees, we had the fish and chips and Guinness Steak pie! Neither disappointed, and they were fresh, hot, and flavorful. During our meal, the other business owner and Chef Robert visited with us. He told us a bit about himself and told us he only fries in Beef Tallow. For those that don't know, this is phenomenal and very healthy! This is what McDonald's used to fry in the 70's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was delicious, and the dining experience was one of the best we had in Indy![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please support this gem of an establishment! I'm not aware of any other authentic English restaurants in Indy. Thank you, Robert, Hope, and our server, Amanda, for a great experience!

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. I say this despite finding a hair on the plate when I was about 2/3 through. My mussels and fries were not great. The fries were mid - they tasted kind of overdone or as if the oil were old. The mussels were actively bad. The portion (an app) was pretty small. There was hardly any broth/wine and they weren't piping hot. Also, they were actually not tasty and the texture was rubbery. I had the southwestern salad with buffalo chicken. It had corn and tortilla strips (which I left off), black beans, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and bleu cheese dressing. It was super fresh and very flavorful. The chicken actually had a good buffalo flavor which many claim to have but don't. We also tried the Nutella crepes with bananas, strawberries, whipped cream and Nutella. In addition to being very large, it had a great taste and was very fresh. Another hit for sure. The avocado toast with salmon was really good. The flavors were spot on and as with the other food, very fresh and well prepared. The brisket burger patty melt was also done perfectly. The brisket patty was a perfect medium and the onions were grilled just right. We opted for mayonnaise instead of the Thousand Island dressing it comes with. I also got a side of egg whites, but they were cooked in that butter spray and didn't taste fresh. The cheesy grits were OK but not very flavorful. I also got a Matcha, but it was pretty watery about a two out of five stars. I will note that the service was good and the staff was friendly.

The restaurant features an extensive drink menu that will suite anyone's pallet. We chose to start with the bread service which was killer especially the honey butter. All of the apps look d amazing but went for the dry rub duck wings with home made ranch. My only critic was I wish there were more than 3. Finished off with the shrimp and grits. Although, I wasn't in New Orleans the spiciness took me back there. The wait staff was great. Even though we were late for the reservation we were seated promptly and had multiple people taking care of us. Spoke & Steele is a must if you are staying in the hotel but also if you want a cool vibe for drinks and great food I would stop by and take a look.

The seating? Intimate. The lighting? Soft. The whole space feels like a quiet luxury moment tucked right into the city. Now let's talk about what REALLY matters, the food. The shrimp & grits??? Listen... this wasn't just a dish, this was an EXPERIENCE. The grits were creamy, smooth, and perfectly rich, but that sauce layered on top?? Whew. Flavor on flavor on flavor. You've got that deep, savory, slightly smoky profile with juicy shrimp, sausage, and those pickled onions cutting through everything with the perfect tang. Every bite felt intentional. Like somebody knew what they were doing in that kitchen. And can we talk about how beautiful it was plated?? Because yes, I absolutely appreciated the aesthetics before I even picked up my fork. Paired it with a simple coffee moment, sitting by the window, and honestly... it felt like a reset. Not rushed, not loud, just good food, good atmosphere, and a chance to actually enjoy it. If you're looking for a brunch spot that feels a little more elevated, a little more intentional, and delivers on both flavor and experience. This is it. 10/10. I'll absolutely be back!!!

FLAVORFUL RESTAURANT IN A HIP PART OF INDY…read more======================================== My daughter-in-law recommended Bluebeard for dinner on Monday, June 22, 2026. I would have to say this restaurant is my favorite in Indy right now after one meal. Most of the things we shared were amazing and for a complete description please refer to my photo of the menu. We ordered the following: Burrata with Amelia's bread as an appetizer which was delicious. Gem Salad - This was amazing and I could eat it every day of the week. Stacci house made pasta - This was a big hit and I would order this every time. Hanger Steak - My husband, aka the picky eater, loved it. I didn't try it, but everyone seemed to like it. Chicken with a few dumplings - We all loved this. Three desserts to share: a cheesecake with fruit on top, one a bread pudding and a chocolate crisp. I ordered a delicious Monsoon Season cocktail with song cai vietnamese gin, cocchi americano, st. george thai basil eau de vie, elderflower, lemon and basil oil. My son and I also ordered glasses of Port after dinner. The service was great and I loved that they were playing really good rock music like Soundgarden and others. There are lots of antique typewriters above the bar and a cool print of Kurt Vonnegut by the bathrooms. I am looking forward to going again the next time my husband and I are in Indy visiting my son and daughter-in-law unless they move out of state.

Themed around Indy native Kurt Vonnegut, you'll see old typewriters, books, and names of menu items paying tribute to the famous author. The menu feels high class but the atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. You could dress up for a special occasion or come in casual every day wear and either fit in just fine. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

Great location at…read morethe end of Mass Ave near Bottleworks--and pro tip: parking directly in front on the same side of the street is free. The space is big and fun, with a large dining room, an old-school video arcade game, interesting art, and a big screen playing movies, which adds to the laid-back, quirky vibe. It's counter service with clear menu boards on the wall, making ordering easy. I had the cheesy jalapeño grits with bacon and an egg and... my goodness. So incredibly delicious. One friend ordered the same grits but swapped in fried catfish instead of bacon--also a fantastic choice. Our third went with a classic plate with eggs and bacon, and let me tell you, the bacon is thick and plentiful. We ordered a side of fries for the table and there were more than enough to share. Self-serve coffee with all the fixings is a nice touch, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Fun atmosphere, great food, solid portions--definitely will be back.

My husband and I had never been here before and the lady at the counter was less than friendly. She did tell us the menu was on the other wall. My husband got a Diet Coke that came in a can and we both got a classic plate minus the toast. 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties... nothing special including the presentation. The price for each plate was $18 plus a $2 can of coke and a tip they didn't deserve brought our total to a little over $40. The eggs were flavorless and literally had no seasoning. I did appreciate that the sausage patties weren't greasy. That was about the only good thing. The decor looked like they took whatever thrift stores couldn't sell with no particular theme. Funny enough, we went out for breakfast a few days later to a DIFFERENT PLACE and for the SAME PRICE got way more food, better quality food, better presentation, full table service, friendly service, great atmosphere, and an overall wonderful experience. Overall, I would not recommend this place. We left feeling like we got ripped off and I could have made the same thing better at home.
