Nice little diner. Small town and local flavor. It was seat yourself and the waitress was right there with a menu and drink order. I had the 3 piece broasted chicken with mashed potatoes for about $14. I came out in about minutes and was nice and hot! It was good but could have used a few more spices but overall a good meal. I should ah e order the 2 piece as I couldn't finish the 3 pieces. I would recommend to anyone I. The area to stop in and enjoy a nice small town lunch.

Two scrambled eggs, 3 sausage links, and 2 dry wheat toast.

I was greeted by a friendly waitress who told me to sit wherever I liked. I ordered the Down Home Favorites 2 scrambled eggs with sausage links and dry wheat toast. I use jelly on my toast. Everything was served hot. Sometimes the eggs or sausage links come lukewarm because they precook them. Everything was prepared to order. Everything tasted delicious. Dana was the waitress and her service was excellent. She let me know I can pay at the table. Dana brought over a handheld device which made the check out process quick and easy. This is a tasty local diner.

I dug in to the fries before I had time to snap a picture of my breaded tenderloin from the Broadway Diner in Fortville.

The Broadway Diner doesn't look like much from the outside but who cares about the exterior when what you want is inside! You can find diners in most small towns. They are gems that create feuds on which small town has the best diner and the Broadway Diner falls in to that category. It is my favorite place for breakfast, hands down. I am a breakfast guy. I love everything there is about breakfast. The eggs, the bacon, the biscuits & gravy... I can't get enough. I am not here to talk about Broadway Diner's amazing breakfast though. I am here to shout to the masses and hold aloft one of the dishes that makes Indiana well, Indiana. I am, of course, talking about the breaded tenderloin. I judge a place on their breaded tenderloin. If I order a breaded tenderloin, and a perfectly shaped puck the same size as the bun, I can tell you a few things. First, the owner is probably not a native Hoosier. Second, they probably buy their breaded tenderloins, mass produced, frozen, and by the case. Thirdly, the cook is dare I say, lazy... gasp. I am happy to say the breaded tenderloins at Broadway Diner are one of those! The pound the pork flat, think , and the size of a plate. They then bread it and deep fry it until golden brown. If you think that is all there is to it, you are sadly wrong. You can get a slice of soy, gooey, melted American cheese on top if you want. Normal fixings are lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, and mayo, though the sky is the limit with toppings. I was on my way home, when the craving hit and luckily Broadway Diner was on my way home. I walked in and sat on a stool at the counter. I ordered my breaded tenderloin with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo all on the side... with a side of fries. I didn't know it, but they had been hit with a couple of big to go orders and the kitchen was making beaded tenderloins as fast as they could. I sat at the counter, sipping on my soda, while I waited for my ordered to be ready. Once it was ready, I paid and made my way home. That first bite... mmmm... hot, juicy, salty, and satisfying. I sat on the couch eating my sandwich, dipping my fries in ketchup, and drinking my Pepsi. Life was good. Broadway Diner is among the best of the diners I have been to. I love their breaded tenderloins, and you need to stop and enjoy one too. Oh, and their breakfast is awesome too!

Their food, for the most part, is pretty good. The biggest drawback is that most of their food is deep fried!

Great diner food. Best tenderloin sandwich in this area, maybe anywhere! Should be on DDD. A very Hoosier experience.

I go here every chance I get, and usually forget to take photos of the delicious food!…read more I am so glad i took the advice of the earlier reviews to entice me to try it out the first time (now years ago). This place has been a hit with my "21+" family due to the great food, great location, and usually good service. Minors are not allowed. Our most recent visit yesterday had less than awesome service but maybe she was having a bad day. The building is old with lots of wood paneling ... very comfy. There are several other wonderful restaurants in Fortville which is great for me as I have several choices. I never would have guessed that this tiny suburb would have such epic cuisine!

I love the small town feel!! The restaurant vibe reflects the town. Everyone is very welcoming. I didn't catch bartenders name, but she was very friendly to everyone at her bar. She told us her favorites on the menu. I appreciated her knowledge about the restaurant and the menu. The bar area seemed a little dark, but that actually enhanced the experience of an old bar. We only sat in the bar area, I believe there is additional seating in another room, but I didn't look. I opted for a grilled tenderloin and a cup of beer cheddar jalapeño cheese soup. The sandwich's are Ala carte. The sandwich was bigger than I expected, that would have been enough for lunch. The trick with grilled tenderloin is that many times it is over cooked, so it is dry. This was cooked to perfection; cooked but still moist. The sandwich, with the "garden" was awesome. Now to the soup. I think she said they use wee Mac as the beer. The jalapeño was puréed. There was crispy bacon crumbled on top; I did not care for the bacon. The soup was odd to me as I was eating it. Because of the texture, it reminded me of corn chowder. There was a little spice/flavor from the jalapeño. What was odd to me, was it didn't wow me like I thought it would, but I kept eating it. So in the end, I think I really liked it bc I ate all of it!!! The menu is not large, but has a good variety for its size. The desserts were impressive, I just didn't have room for it. I could easily become a regular there!!

But I'm so glad I was hungry and ordered the lasagna. It's a decent amount of food and I think it was the best Lasagna I've ever had. Seriously. Melted in my mouth and the texture and flavor was amazing. All the pasta and sauces are made in house and I could taste the difference. Delicious. My SO had been thinking about their linguine and clams and was not disappointed. There were fewer clams than the last time (granted it's been a long while now) so it's best for a lite appetite. Service was good and the owner stopped by as well ... from Italy and these are home recipes. Looks like they recently installed new carpet which was nice. Love all the framed pictures especially in the back room. This restaurant is perfect for a special occasion, or an intimate dinner, or for just when you want some authentic great Italian food.

It was hopping on a Friday night. I had been wanting to come here for a long time.. Everyone I know says this place is really good. This is a 3.5 star review. The bruschetta was 4 pieces and soggy. It was also 15 dollars. They don't serve table bread for free so I ordered some for $4 and it was about 5 1/2 slices of the same bread they used for the bruschetta. It was served with a bowl of oil with balsamic vinegar. I also asked for my pasta to be saucy and the waitress looked at me and she said, do you mean you want extra sauce? So for $2 extra I feel I got a normal amount of sauce so I'm not sure what a regular amount looks like. Unfortunately the pasta was pre-denté. Everyone else's dishes were steaming hot and the pasta was visibly able to be twirled around a fork. Mine was warm and I had to cut it with a spoon and fork just to get it separated for many bites, which were very chewy, almost hard. The ragù was fine. The atmosphere was nice for dinner. I read some other reviews and they are definitely mixed. One of my friends who had been before warned me after I was excited to initially try the cheese wheel pasta, to be careful. She said hers was wet and vodka flavored, so I didn't get it. Similar reviews said the same. I will say the calamari was some of the best I've had lately. Not chewy at all and a lovely light batter, served with tomato sauce. I did find it odd that the sauce was cold. Everyone else seemed to really enjoy their meals so this gets the 3.5 stars.
