Looking from the outside you wouldn't think this would be an ideal place to eat. Sunday morning we walked in and we're greeted by a very friendly older man. Our wait was short and our long dark hair waitress had it neat and pulled back. So glad most of the workers all looked well groomed. My country fried steak was just the right crunch and tenderness. The gravy was seasoned well too and the pancakes were amazing! Tender and fluffy! I didn't realize I had a choice of pancake or toast! Was so excited. A lot of food but delicious. Breakfast is good at Sunrise but the coffee is weak- very very weak. But breakfast overall is so good we've talked about going next door to Starbucks and bringing a "To-Go" cup of French Roast over to Sunrise. Their Pancakes are the best. And even the eggs Benedict are great for a diner. read more

Went a few times before and once it was good. The experience last Saturday wasn't good at all. Very cheap tasting ketchup. Don't waste your time putting it on your plate. Not sure I've ever had anyone mess up a patty melt, but Sunrise did. It was dry and tasteless I had to get a running start to swallow it. Two bites in and it tasted just like the old and burned grease the onion rings were fried in...disgusting. I asked for the cheese fries and, yep, messed up again. Sprinkled with a few scattered pieces of shredded cheddar and cooked too quicky and tasted like raw potatoes. You know the kind of fried where they taste like raw potatoes?? When brought to the attention of the waitress she took it in the back and the manager (?) came out and seemed as if he could have cared less. I can only rate it for my experience and it was a great one. I went to Starbucks next door for a coffee and wanted to go inside. Their inside dining was closed. I walked next door for a glorious experience. I was seated right away, had a cup of coffee in minutes and got a Senior breakfast for 6.99 that had Buttermilk Pancakes, eggs over easy, and sausage. The coffee was a pot that just sat on the table so I could refill at will. Nice. And the server was quick. I was eating within 5 minutes and loved every bite. I don't think the coffee was quite as good as starbucks but the experience was so much better and I will be back next time I pass thru. read more

Went here for breakfast and it was jam packed. So we took a look at the menu and there was a broad selection to chose from. I ordered a rare cheeseburger, with well done fries and my wife ordered the crepes. Well my order came out in about 10 minutes and after 20 we asked about the crepes. Just from an engineering standpoint I'd of thought crepes would take less time to prepare than a double cheese burger. Anyway the server a very please gentleman came to our table and said because of the wait he was going to comp our meal. We told him that wasn't necessary he did it anyway. We made sure we gave an extremely generous tip. It wasn't his fault that the kitchen was backed up. So I waited for my wife to get her order whilst she samples my french fries, just for scientific purposes I assure you. In the meantime the server brings us over two pieces of cheesecake in addition to comping our meal. The crepes were not very good which surprised me that in Brunswick GA at a diner the crepes weren't very good, my burger had been cooked past the point of no return when I say it was well done I'm talking hockey puck consistency. When back in Brunswick and if not as crowed we will be back to give them a try. In their defense they were extremely crowded and may not have anticipated the influx of diners headed to FL on spring break. read more

3 stars is pushing it, but you can't give half star ratings. We tried Cracker Barrel (next door) and they had a 40 minute wait. I saw the reviews for this diner and decided to give them a try. The food is edible......I am critical with breakfast because it's the easiest thing to cook and hard to get wrong. With that being said, we walked in and the diner was pretty empty (shocked) with CB being their biggest competitor , I thought a wait was in our future. We sat down and ordered from their full front and back menu. On the front they had 40+ items to choose from. Which gives the impression that they know their stuff about breakfast. But I was quickly reminded that the 40+ menu meant nothing. They definitely do not understand the egg Benedict concept, the egg was poached hard with a VERY creamy pasty sauce ( not hollandaise) . Their coffee is AWFUL, very confused at how they got coffee wrong. A majority of the patrons are locals , which is where most of the reviews are from. My son's waffle was good, hubby said the omelette was ok. Go elsewhere if you are looking for a TASTY good ole country breakfast . Stopped by Sunrise Diner on our way out of Brunswick after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. First impression when pulling up was the parking lot was over-flowing so it must be good, second impression when walking in was that we were greeted by the staff working like long lost friends, third impression was how fast we were seated at a very clean table, fourth impression was great service, and the fifth impression given was the food which was good. Staff here gets an A+ for super friendly and efficient service. Cleanliness also gets an A+. Food I give a C+; it was good, but seemed to lack something. It was on par with diner food, so I can't complain there. I had the country fried steak which was mostly breading. But I'd go back again just for the service alone; probably try something else next time. read more

About 1/2 mile off I-95, nestled in between a no-tell motel and service station we arrived on a Sunday around 11:15 am. After consulting with fellow yelpers I made the call to eat here on our way back to Tampa. The service was dripping with Southern sweetness and smiling eyes (it's still COVID of course). The "looks" of the food were quite basic but the flavor was complex and fresh. The items enjoyed ranged from mozzarella sticks (yes, an odd selection) with marinara with a homemade taste to cheese fries with. White cheddar sauce, bacon and jalapeños. On our way to FL Sunday, we stopped here for brunch. The staff definitely had the southern hospitality and our server Laurie was the best. Service was great and quick; prices comparable maybe a tad bit cheaper. Lots to choose from on their menu. I ordered the hash house (corned beef, eggs, potatoes), family ordered breakfast crepes(stuffed with eggs, bacon, ham, swiss cheese), chicken fajita omelet, triple crown omelet(bacon, game, sausage) and sportsman combo(bacon, eggs, potatoes, waffle).
