That's a Cuban with tots with pasta salad and egg salad sandwich behind it.

Where else in the world can you bump into a colleague from three-plus decades ago by accident? We stopped in after reviewing quick lunch spots after leaving Saint Simons. Maggie Mae's look fun and it was. Food: a unique, toasted Cuban sans mustard with a heap of tater tots. Also tasty egg salad with pasta salad. Both with water. All good. Ambiance: this is a local oasis with a wide breakfast and lunch menu, including soup of the day. Sandwiches are specialities but we hate to have missed breakfast. Not opulent but a hometown feel you can't import. Service. Perfect. From ordering to delivery to a quick "hey" from the boss. We'll go again when in the area.

This hole in the wall restaurant is one of the best breakfast/lunch places in Brunswick. I used to come here on my lunch break in highschool! A business that has been open for over 40 years in this town & well known for their southern family recipes is one of my absolute favs!! The prices are unbeatable for the portions & quality of food! I also always appreciate the options of turkey sausage & turkey bacon, which believe it or not are hard to come by at more southern restaurants. Loved stopping through here while visiting home French Toast & Turkey Sausage ($6.95): 9/10 Sooo yummy! I don't like cinnamon & these had the perfect tough to them where I could still really enjoy them. The turkey sausage was juicy, flavorful, & a great size Cup of Grits ($2.95): 9/10 Nothing beats my dads slow cooked grits, but these are the closest anyone has ever gotten! They are creamy & delicate , and the cup was enough to feed two people.

My fiancé and I were downtown for some errands and decided to get some breakfast while we were out. We decided on Maggie Mae's because it had good reviews, was locally owned, and was very close to where we were. Going in, you can tell they treat their customers like family and have plenty of regulars. It felt like a family reunion vibe in there. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese bagel with oatmeal and my fiancé got bacon, eggs, and toast. It was good, nothing you can't make at home. I think it was only $15 for both of us so it's definitely cheap. They serve all their drinks and food with single use items (styrofoam cups and plates) which I don't love, but less dishes for them I guess. I probably wouldn't go back, but it's a good place to stop and get breakfast if you're hungry. They also serve lunch all day, which may be better. I didn't look at the lunch menu.

Loaded hashbrowns with home fries, bacon and American cheese, I requested gravy on top.

We love visiting mom and pop restaurants, especially when we travel. There weren't many to choose from that sold breakfast all day, we got there around noon for breakfast. Maggie Mae's certainly has the feel of a small town diner with the friendly service and a lot of locals eating there (police, firemen, city hall workers and citizens). Maggie herself was working and stopped by to make sure our food met our expectations and we had all we need. The service was great and each server made us feel like we belonged there. The food was great and all we expected. We got it fairly quick considering how busy it got and only 2 cooks. It was hot and tasty. I really liked my loaded home fries. Not necessarily a bad thing but everything was served in/on disposable plates/cups, except for the coffee cup. The city water tastes somewhat like ocean water but it was tolerable if you're thirsty. My only suggestion would be (certainly wouldn't prevent me from visiting again if I come through town again) to hang some pics/decor on the walls, they were all plain white. I would also get some cozier feeling seating (tables & chairs). The place lacked character bc of its simplicity. Most tables were 6 tops so some folks shared tables with other small parties, which was cool.

Great hometown feel. The staff here are amazing. This was my frist time here and they made me feel right at home, super friendly, and very helpful. The food here is also amazing. They have both outdoor and indoor dining. I had the steak sammich, and it was amazing. Seasoned to perfection. Cooked just right. Definitely will be back.

Visiting Brunswick and found this place on Google Maps. It's highly rated and open til 3pm daily, that's enough for me. There is some street parking, and a small lot on the side, you'll enter the lot from the side street. Out front there are picnic tables with umbrellas. When you walk in the door, you're met with a welcoming smile from the person at the counter, and he hands you a menu. They do offer takeout, but we decided to eat in, there are plenty of tables. You can tell this place is very focused on their regulars, everyone seemed to know each other by first name. People calling and ordering, then coming in to pick up or sitting down for lunch, there seemed to be a quick chat with everyone who came in or out. The staff we interacted with were all very friendly too. When we walked in the door they seemed a bit surprised to see us, it was kind of funny. The food was all very good. We didn't get anything fancy, but it was all made fresh and was served hot, even the toast. I was excited to try the grits because of other reviews, but they were all out by 11am so that was a bummer. I'll definitely eat here when we visit again, and I'll show up earlier next time. Side note, all the utensils and plates are disposable (plastic,) so you toss it all in the trash on your way out.

Talk about sweet, down home cooking! This small, nondescript building, opens into a rough around the edges room that is filled with love & happiness. The owner and server were so sweet and welcoming. There were a ton of locals that made our experience even nicer. Our breakfast food was more than delicious. It was served piping hot exactly how we requested. My hash browns were nice and crunchy. I'm glad we found this spot while visiting Brunswick. I would definitely stop in again the next time I'm in town.

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.

The business has a small parking lot it shares with other businesses, there is also a small gravel lot beside it that you can park at. If you go at a busy time, parking can be a chore. Upon arrival, the business was busy with both inside and outside seating filled but we were seated immediately at a table with both bench and chair seating that shared the bench with other tables. There is also bar seating and you can sit at a high top that borders the brew stations. It took a few minutes for us to meet our server who took our drink orders. Soda for her and non-alcoholic IPA for me. It took our server a while to bring our drinks and she forgot my IPA so she had to go find it. Once we had our beverages, we ordered our food. We started with the bacon wrapped blue cheese dates - the dates are served on tooth picks and looked great but the blue cheese overpowered the flavor of everything else. My wife ordered the special of the day (not on everyday menu) which was shrimp tacos with a black bean pineapple salsa and house made chips and fries. I opted for the house burger with cheddar cooked medium and chips and fries. It took a long time for our food to come out and after observing our server chatting it with a table of her friends who were behind us, I am pretty sure she may have forgot to order it in a timely manner. When our food came it was auctioned off to us by another team member (no server to be found). My wife's tacos were overstuffed and fell apart. I tried one and the fried shrimp tasted really fishy to me, not like fried shrimp is supposed to taste. My burger was okay but nothing special. Really wanted to like this place but it did not live up to our expectations.
