I was in town for a quick overnight trip, and wanted some breakfast before hitting the road. I found this place on a whim honestly. I searched for breakfast spots, and chose Zeig's Cafe because it's not a chain and I wanted something made to order. I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food and the portions. I ordered a breakfast plate with grits, scrambled eggs, and toast. It was hot, fresh, and hit the spot. I literally couldn't finish everything. I ordered take out because I had a long drive ahead of me. The dining area was small but quaint, and had plenty of seating available. The waitress that took my order was sweet, accommodating, and made sure that I had plenty of napkins, cutlery, and jelly/butter in my bag before leaving. When I'm in town I wouldn't mind dining here again with a friend and trying out their lunch options, because I was so impressed with their breakfast menu. This is one of those small strip mall restaurants that is very local. It has the vibe of knowing everyone who comes through the door. The service was friendly and welcoming. The prices were also very reasonable for what you get. Parking can be an issue. I went on back to back days because it was close to my hotel. I ordered the same thing twice and both times it was solid! My omelette was filled with veggies and cheese. It was cooked perfectly. Even though I ordered my hash browns extra crispy they were just regular. The second day I had a biscuit instead of the toast. It was flaky and pretty good. This place needs a better jam to set it off! The coffee is served hot and fresh. The server was on top of keeping it filled regularly. If you are in the area check it out. For soft drinks and tea they use styrofoam cups. For water and coffee they use mugs and reusable cups. read more

If you're looking for scratch-made biscuits, fluffy pancakes, meaty bacon and perfectly cooked eggs - this is the place! The owners are kind and generous with the delicious coffee! It was an incredible experience! So reasonable too. Hubs got the big breakfast and it was huge! ($9.99) I didn't see a breakfast that suited me and they were happy to let me make my own off the extras menu. My 1 egg, biscuits and gravy and hash browns were perfect! We ate here two days in a row. The food is good and the staff so darned friendly that we had to come back. Both days I had the veggie omelette with cheese, home fries and biscuit. Both days my wife had the French toast with bacon. All of it was simple fare, but absolutely done to perfection. The portions were just right. They don't serve massive amounts. To be honest, I've been in places that serve the same breakfast items in huge and greasy portions--but quantity doesn't necessarily have a quality of its own. Zeig's satisfied us without stuffing us...and the prices were comparatively low when stacked up against similar places. So...if you're still hungry, order more! So we read the reviews and love finding mom n pops places. This fit the bill! (And Debbie!) NOTE: It is seat your self in case no one tells you that when you walk in. It was not too busy when we got there so we had our choice of tables. Fresh made food with lots of good flavors. I had the Western omelette with have crunchy and fresh veggies and crispy has browns. This spot serves up a solid breakfast. It's located in a small strip mall down the street from the cluster of hotels of the interstate. The interior is sparse but clean. The tables were appropriately Covid spaced and the wait staff wore masks although most of the (older) customers did not. My DD ordered pancakes with a side of bacon and I got a Western omelet with grits and toast. My daughter's pancakes were thick but fluffy. The bacon was a thicker cut and cooked well. The 2 pancakes were filling and she couldn't eat all of them. My omelet was great. Loaded with onions, peppers and tasty ham bites that had been cooked before adding them to the omelet. Nice touch. The toast was toast but the grits were creamy and salted just right. The waitress was attentive and kept my coffee cup full. All that for under $20 not including a tip. We couldn't do five stars for two reasons: the first is my personal preference of not having Fox News on when I'm eating and the second was the bathroom. The bathroom needs a good cleaning and repainting. It was jarring coming from the nice clean restaurant into a room that had dirty baseboards and stains on the walls. The corners and the space behind the sink were very grimy. All in all I would totally recommend Zeig's Cafe for a yummy breakfast at a very reasonable price. read more

Amazing. We stopped for breakfast on our road trip. So glad we drove the extra half mile off 95. So affordable and amazing. My husband is convinced the bell peppers are home grown because they tasted so good. Service was so incredible. We tipped 60% because she was amazing and the food was so inexpensive. This place wins the award for the most disgusting coffee I have ever tasted. Drinks are served in styrofoam cups. Why this is done at places like this, I don't understand. Food took a while, and tasted like what you would expect when walking in, not great. We weren't expecting an amazing experience, just wanting some decent food. The coffee is horrifying. When I paid the bill at the cashier, I figured out why... They had several sets of coffee w/filter stacks ready for coffee. It was very little coffee on a white filter, with several more stacked high. This was placed over a visibly dirty/crusty bin, with flies. I don't understand why this is done, maybe it saves them 10 seconds. Also, the ice comes from an old and dirty red cooler (like you would take to the beach), with the ice scooper tossed inside (very gross, just think about it). I'd give this place 3 stars, but the filth of the ice cooler and the coffee shows how little they care about their product. read more

Boy, do I love a good breakfast place! This is a local mom and pop run place. Georgia bulldog stuff everywhere and a cozy atmosphere. Pancakes were tasty and bacon was crispy. Very good service from some friendly people. Southern hospitality is a great thing. I wish people on the west coast adapted just a little bit of it..honestly..would go a long way. While staying over night in the area, we decided to forego the free hotel breakfast and head for Zeig's Cafe to try a local favorite. Southern hospitality really shines through on this quaint little family run cafe. We were impressed with the menu selection and the reasonable prices. I kept it simple with a biscuit sandwich with eggs and cheese and my husband enjoyed a ham and cheese omelette with grits and a biscuit. We both agreed the biscuits were so amazing with a light, fluffy texture and beautiful flavor and just all around delightful. The ham and eggs were delicious too, and grits done exactly as they should be. We did wait a little long for our breakfast, but since we took the last open table when we arrived we realized our food just simply had to wait its turn to be prepared hot and fresh. Charming breakfast & brunch find and we would definitely enjoy Zeig's again, especially those lovely fresh biscuits I only could hope to replicate at home. read more
