I took photos of the business for a small claims case, and he called my cell and started threatening me! He said "you don't know who you are messing with, you better be careful.. I was looking for a screen door lock mechanism, the owner Mel help me out, strange he had the lock mechanism laying under paper on desk. I tried to install but not a perfect match. I returned the box as i received and asked for a refund. Mel opened box and said where's the key and lock part. I said that's what you gave me. And they still did it wrong they did tell me if it didn't fit right to take it back and so I did but for what?? Two men came out--quickly measured the door & removed the damaged door. Returned with a perfectly repaired mirrored door. The owner is absolutely rude, calls me tells me not to waste his time, when he's telling me something ENTIRELY different then what was discussed. Price jumped all over, the employees who showed up were polite, the owner ruined the entire thing by yelling and talking over both myself and his employees. He tried to blame his wife, which is a sorry excuse for poor business mannerism. I love sunrise, Glass and all of the staff when we first moved to Los Alamitos. He came and replaced every one of my windows and it was affordable. They did an excellent job. They replaced all of my buffet cupboards with tinted glass so you can't see all the junk inside of it. He replaced my curio cabinet shelves because I noticed that my shelves were bowing because there is too much stuff on them and it could've broken and he made the shelves 10 times thicker. I also recently had my Disney cells changed because it would've cost me $5000 to have them reframed but sunrise did the glass for a small fraction of the price. I recommend sunrise to anybody who has mirror or glass window any kind of service they are amazing and I stand by that. They do excellent work with anything. They're very friendly. I broke the glass in my antique coffee table and felt as shattered as the glass. I remembered passing this glass shop in my daily travels and thought I'd give them a call. The owner answered the phone and immediately began to work on the replacement of my glass. He came and measured the area, looked at the glass that was broken and 4 days later delivered a perfect replacement that was exceptional in match, measure, and quality. The delivery personnel were just as professional as the owner. I'm so happy! I thought it would cost a pretty price but the cost of assessment, custom make, and delivery was at a very reasonable amount. I now have a glass shop for any future needs. Our experience was absolutely horrible. On Aug 14 they came out to give an estimate for new shower doors. They person who came out looked at the bathroom and my daughter and I told him what we needed . We stated we we wanted two towel bars , inside and out . The worker wrote up the work order for towel bars both doors. We were told it would be ordered and would take about 5 days . On Friday Aug 27 the RUDE owner called and said the doors had arrived but they had upgraded the glass to rain glass and we needed to pay more . I told him no . They came out later that day and after putting up the side rails discovered the doors were way to short ! They to them back to the store. Saturday Aug 28 they called back and said they had the right doors in and they came back out. Well after they had the doors almost finished, I went in to check and found the doors had only one towel bar . The worker (who gave me the estimate) told me to call the owner at the shop. He was very rude and told me they didn't make that model with 2 bars and if I wanted that I had to pay $85 dolors more.! I told him absolutely not , I wanted what my contract stated and wouldn't pay him a cent more.. He tried to tell me that I should have called him and not taken the word of the person that gave the estimate, I thought that was the job he was sent to do , give an estimate. They removed the doors for the second time and took them back to the shop. Came back about a hour later with 2 towel bars and installed the doors. Hopefully they are good to go and no leakage problems happen. we have lived in Los Alamitos for 40 years and try to shop local , but this is one business we we Never use or recommend Again. Absolutely horrific experience. I would not wish on my worst enemy to have to go through what we had to go through allowing this business to replace our windows. I wish we had read all the one star reviews before and stayed clear. First off, the owner is extremely unprofessional. He yelled at my entire family when we tried to explain the issue of the installment of the windows. The installed windows are not symmetrical - when they are pushed closed, each edge hits the lock at different areas. Next, the workmanship was terrible - leftover chalk all along the window pane, leftover chalk on our rug (I don't even know how they managed that), and smudged windows. Please make sure to read all the other one star reviews on here because everything experienced by them is almost exactly what we experienced. Don't waste your time and money - go somewhere else. Also, when we asked the owner to take his shoes off or at least put shoe covers on, he yelled that he did not have to take his shoes off...that's okay, but at least have shoe covers! Not every person wants a stranger's dirty shoe on their rug or in their personal bedrooms. I called and asked if they could replace the mirror on my side rear view mirror that had become foggy and they said yes. When I went there, a rather annoyed man came out to my car and glanced at it and said, and I quote, "No, we don't do that." I then explained, as I had on the phone, that I simply want a piece of mirror cut to the same size and glued over the damaged mirror. He said he can't do it. I asked if I made a template of the shape could he cut a mirror that size and he said yes. I asked what it would cost and he said $25-30 and turned and walked away. Small job, yes. Been using Sunrise for years for little screen window repairs. Yesterday was shocked that Amid charged me $48.00 for screen replacement of 5sqft (maybe less). I told him that was extremely high. I cannot recommend this business. The owner refused to make right my shower door panel correct, when the replacement glass for my fixed was the incorrect locations for the cutout and and the clamp (he not only sent square clamps instead of rounded to match the door hinges, but it was satin finish instead of chrome to match the door hinges). The owner said he could not afford to re-order the correct clamp. And, saying that is what I told the installers I wanted, when it was his installers who came to the house to measured the panel and communicated what was needed to match the fixed panel with hinges on the door. There was no invoice with the information provided by the installers for me to sign off on- convenient now that he is saying, I told then that is what i wanted...seriously...?!! Why on Earth would I or anyone want a clamp that doesn't match the door hinge. I'm beyond disappointed. read more

Save yourself the time/hassle/headache/money- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE I purchased a bathroom mirror including removal and installation. After a multiple day delay, citing product availability, the mirror was installed on a Saturday afternoon. The product we received was an incorrect size, was installed at an angle, and trash, including nails, were left on our bathroom floor. During the installation, my wife said the employees questioned the measurement of the product but continued anyways. Given that nearly everything was wrong with the order, I went back to the store to attempt to receive a refund and was immediately met with a refusal. The owner refused to take any responsibility for any of the issues. He blamed the manufacturer for sending the wrong size (even though he said his employees measured and cut it) and said he is not responsible for the workmanship on the installation, even though his employees installed it. I am not one to write reviews but the interaction with the owner was beyond unprofessional, it was uncivil. He made accusations against myself and my wife which were completely unfounded. He said he could replace the mirror but at this point, not only do I have zero faith in the company's abilities, I do not trust them entering my home again. Why go through the headache when you can go elsewhere. I believe in supporting small businesses... just not this one. read more

Find another glass company to work with. We had them out to replace some insulated glass panes in our French doors. They came out to make a measurement of the panes and then returned roughly a week later to install. When the work was completed, it was obvious that they had made an error in measuring the panes as the black edge of the panes were visible in all of the replaced panes. The workers requested payment and, as they barely spoke English, we felt it best to pay and then take it up with the owner. The owner insisted that "the glass in our doors were old and they no longer make that size." In speaking to other glass dealers, we've learned that this was a flat out lie. The owner didn't let me finish and thought I was asking to have one piece installed in that one door. He treated me like I came in and crapped on his floor. I agree with some of the other reviewers. Their customer service is non-existent. I spoke to a female owner and she was not very helpful. I ordered three pieces of glass for three tabletops and one was not cut correctly. When the order was ready, she called to let me know. I had previously told her that my wife may come by and pick up the order since I worked during the day. My wife called the store to confirm that the order was ready to be picked up and the same woman was extremely rude saying "I already called you and TOLD you it was ready." Our Designer contacted Sunrise to do the following job. Remove our heavy glass shower door so we could replace the tub. Once the tub was in, they'd come back and reinstall the door. The price quoted was $250 for the entire job. They came out and within 15 minutes had the door off and collected the money up front. Yesterday, they came out and reinstalled the door. They handed my wife a bill for an additional $250.00 She informed them she had already paid and showed them a copy of the invoice and check. Still, they said we owed another $250.00. They left without payment as we needed to sort out the mis-communication. Shortly thereafter, my wife gets a call from the owner saying that if we did not pay them, they "had the right to file a lien against our house". Seriously? It's like we got sent to Collections the day we made a purchase. This is nuts! It sounded like were getting a scam phone call from the IRS, not from a local business. read more

Anything from a single piece of glass to windows and storefront for a large office building I developed. They always complete the tasks and provide great service when I need it. His wife, who runs the office has always been pleasant too. We are remodeling our bathroom and needed the large mirror cut down to fit. I went to 4 places yesterday to try and get the mirror cut. In every case it would take days and be expensive or they couldn't do it the way I needed. This morning I drove in and they quickly made the cuts I needed and they trimmed off bad parts of the mirror and sanded the edges while I waited. Fast, efficient and reasonably priced. so I started to remove the shower enclosure that sunrise glass installed about 15 years ago to redo our shower. I could not believe how good of a job the installers did. I mean that enclosure and glass was really put in well. so I thought wait a minute, why am I calling other companies for a new set up, why not call sunrise back??? so I did, and the owner came out and gave me a price that was cheaper than the other quotes I was getting. we went with sunrise glass and mirror for frameless glass doors. and we could not be happier. the installers did a great job, the price was great, and out shower looks amazing. can't go wrong with sunrise glass and mirror read more
