Finally after a lot of tries & long travel I finally reached the new talk of the town lol. ! Now the question is was it all worth it, Oh yes, definitely! I didn't realize they have buffet every day, that was a pleasant surprise. It's been too long I had buffet. Altho I have realized I need a friend with me who eats good to try all the yummy items ! Next time ....! After some authentic Pakistani food I also tried firni ( rice pudding) one of my favorite dessert & it was yum! Then as a desi I can't end a meal without a cup of hot chai, so I tried the Kashmiri chai. It was my first time trying it & I am not a fan of it. But I know for a fact it's a delicacy from that region & I am happy for the chance of trying it. The service was great, would have been excellent but only one guy can't be taking care of everyone! I guss around evening time they have more people to help out. Hope at-least on the weekends they have extra help on lunch time . I also checked out the restroom , was specious & clean. Hope it stays this way in future! Thank you guys for an awesome experience, hope for the best. Keep up the great work.

Love that they opened a location in Queens, it saves me the drive to Hicksville if I'm craving their food. Attentive staff & service. Establishment is spotless and super clean which I love. Inside ambiance is walls full of beautiful Pakistani culture. Soft tender juicy kababs, delicious and savory palak paneer. Fluffy warm naan. I love Sunshine restaurant.

Decent food, nothing amazing. This is basically the same restaurant as before (Taste of Lahore) but with a makeover and a name change. The decor is very colorful. Food is from steam trays as in all Pakistani restaurants. They offer several types of buffets but not so much for dinner. Prices are reasonable.

Shirazi Karahi is a spot located in my old neighborhood and I've been meaning to try out their karahi dishes. I somehow managed to make my way here and luckily we got immediately seated with no wait time. The place was almost at full capacity. The dining experience has an elevated diner appeal with booths for families to sit in and some level of privacy. Their Karahi dishes are excellent with their house made rotis or biryani or both if you're down for the carb overload ! ... but next to Karahi dishes (they serve the food in an actual Karahi for that homely feel) their sizzling dishes are just as attractive...don't worry, once you get seated and waiting to give your order, you will see (and smell) the dishes coming out! It's a seated dining experience with an attentive staff, great service and the karahis/ sizzling dishes were on point This is the spot that's great for families, groups of friends , cousins, significant other(s) , spouses, side baes, or main baes.

But I was expecting more given the depiction of the dish on UberEats. The Chana Masala, Palak Aloo, and Kerahi Shrimp entrees came DRENCHED in what seemed like a gallon of oil, occupying 1/3 of the container which left the contents dripping, even after we poured out the liquid, rendering them inedible. Photo attached for reference. The samosas were good, and reminded us of the samosas that Mehak in Kew Gardens used to make. The naan was large and good, and the mango lassi was also refreshing. But the bulk of the dinner (the entrees) were quite underwhelming and left much to be desired, especially given what we paid for it. Perhaps when dining in-house they do a better job of draining the oil from the dishes, but they certainly don't fare well in transit.

My waiter, Khalil, is a fine gentleman and very personable. He would be welcome at my table anytime. Now for the food: We had the appetizer combo, which consisted of a spinach dish, hummus and pitas, and samosas. Best hummus I've ever had. Spinach was spicy and delicious. Samosa was excellent. For the main course we ordered a kebab platter for 4 people. Three kabobs of your choice, served with white or green (dill) rice. The kabobs here are the best I've ever had (I've been here many times, but this is my first review). This is one of my favorite restaurants in the five boroughs. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Jackson Heights has no shortage of great Southeast Asian food, so I was excited to give this spot a try. They have dine-in option and plenty of seating upstairs while the downstairs is just for takeout and was much busier. The Steamed Chicken Momos were satisfying, warm, and well-seasoned. There was a bit too much dough for my liking but I did enjoy the flavors. The Tandoori Mix was a nice assortment of various cuts of chicken & beef. Many of the pieces were on the dry side but again, the flavor was there. The Goat Shinwari Karahi is definitely worth getting. The goat was super tender and aromatic and the karahi is fragrant and made well. It's super greasy which I didn't like, and it wasn't served with anything. If you want rice/naan on the side, you need to add that on yourself. Nonetheless, for ~$20, it's still a great deal. The Chicken Biryani was fluffy, aromatic & fragrant, and filled with a good portion of chicken. This was the base for the other dishes we got and truly paired well with everything. The portion was perfect for 4 people and at ~$14, that's an unbeatable price! I also loved the Sesame Naan which scooped up the karahi sauce so well! The Kashmiri Tea here is so good! The pistachios are well incorporated so you don't feel like you're chewing so much while sipping, and the tea is rich & soothing. It's definitely cheap comfort food and we left feeling fill & satisfied but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Solid try!

However, recently when my uncle was in town and staying close to LaGuardia, it only made sense to pay an old friend a visit and take a trip down memory lane. Not much has changed here since the decades have passed us by other than perhaps the sighting of more and more non-brown people in the family dining hall as Mayor Mamdani has put this Jackson Heights institution on the map. We weren't really in the mood for a lot of food so our order was pretty simple - a single order of goat karahi, seekh kabab and some naan. Goat karahi came out fresh and hot. I will say it was more on the greasier side, lots of oil to fish through, and the goat couldve been a bit more tender but the flavor was on point. Naan was warm and fluffy, and the kabab were spiced just right although I feel they need to be a little juicier. We washed this down with chai which was really good but more on the milkier side. I can't wait to return and re-familiarize myself with their menu offerings. Maybe I'll give the biryani a try next time, I've heard it's pretty good here!

Heard about how amazing they are for a long time and finally got a chance to try them and I agree it's the best indian food in the city. Nonfussy, homestyle Indian food with attention to quality. They make their paneer in house so you HAVE to get something with paneer. Specifically, their special with paneer-stuffed naan was a game changer with every single note - acid, sour, savory, salt, sweet, chewy, bready, hearty, buttery - it is everything and more. It was one of my favorite bites of 2025. The biryani is absolutely delicious too, with a nice crisp exterior and the meat was soooo tender (we got the dum goat biryani).
