I felt the quality of the ingredients used was superior to those utilized by other Indian restaurants I have tried before. Our server was knowledgeable and answered our questions to satisfaction. It was very slow at the time of our visit. The place looks very inviting and warm.

Best selection and extensive menu of Indian in the neighborhood. Perfect flavors and textures, especially the lasuni gobi cauliflower appetizer. Great classics, alongside harder-to-find dishes. Wonderful service, knowledgeable and patient. The type of place you have go-to favorites but can keep trying new things. Good date spot.

This is thee Indian spot in Queens. The food was absolutely delicious!! The butter chicken was out of this world and the lamb biryani was light yet filling. Service was quick and attentive. I really loved the vibe inside...super sleek with stainless steel dishware and beautiful ambient lighting. Totally coming back and is a must dine in spot!!

If you're looking for good Indian food in Astoria, THIS is the restaurant To come to. The food is extremely fresh and flavorful. Decided on the $20 pre-fix which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. It was ALL delicious! Also, shoutout to our serve Binod. He was awesome. Very attentive and kind. Highly recommend. Will be my new local favorite.

Waited no time for a table of 5 at 5pm. Ordered off the prix fix menu got the chicken samosa, chicken tikka masala, and the dough ball for dessert. Ordered a mango lassi as well. Samosa was good and flavorful! Chicken tikka masala was flavorful but the chicken was dry. The rice had coriander which I'm not a fan of. Dough ball was delicious and felt unique. The mango lassi was alright. The service was efficient but not friendly. Pro tip: check in and get free super delicious naan! Would I return? Not really, this is the 3rd Indian place I've tried and it's ranked 3rd

Taking over for another desi-owned spot (#1) several years ago, they've done a much better job of capturing an audience by focusing on a niche of Goan inspired foods, along with a slew of classic Indian dishes that span from north to south. The interior is modest and quaint, and a one bright / memorable outdoor setup during the pandemic. The restaurant is not big, but they've managed to cram in a good number of tables to make it place for 30 folks. Takeout and delivery are also very popular, and I've been fortunate to have had all of the above. Some immediate standouts: goan fish curry, xacuti curry, and the caldeen curry are quite excellent and all come from the Indo-Portuguese side of the menu, which are all loaded with flavor. Additionally, the tandoori selection (especially the chicken malai, seekh kebab, and methi salmon) and variety of curries (rogan josh, korma, jalfrezi, makhani, etc.) are also very flavorful. As with many other Indian places, especially ones that cater to the southern palate, there is an excellent vegetarian selection. The saag chana is one of my go-tos, but the peeli dal, bhindi masala, gobi manchurian over their lemon or tomato rice all merit a big thumbs up. Ownership has likely changed since their initial start, which explains why the staff and "family owned" management has all gotten different looks before and after the pandemic. The other major issue has been pricing, which definitely feels premium at $21-23, for portions that sometimes feels like the size of a hockey puck. The product is still good and the pickins in Sunnyside (#2) are slim, so I realize that for some people, this is the only (Indian) game in town. ___________ (#1) Biriyani House: https://www.yelp.com/biz/biriyani-house-sunnyside (#2) Unless of course, we're counting all the Nepalese spots that also serve Indian cuisine.

The food types are similar but offer different spice/flavor profiles. They have a large section of noodles, soup, and rice. Some of the Indian dishes: paneer butter masala, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala. Some of the appetizers include crispy tofu, fried soybeans, a Nepali snack platter with marinated meat, goat, beef tripe, sliced beef tongue, fried jerky, duck. They also have a momo section. We had their famous chicken lollipops (essentially fried chicken) and it was crispy and spicy (in a good way). We also had sadeko (marinated or tossed) bacon, which was rich and tender. I had one of their Nepali cocktails, which was pleasantly spicy (the chatpata aam, made with tequila, spicy chatpatey syrup, and mango puree). Service was attentive. Inside is cozy, lots of dark wood and colorful flags. They also often have entertainment in the evening, so I would love to return to hear some live music while trying more Nepali cuisine.

The first time that I came here was about 3 years ago with a few friends and we liked the food - the beef tongue was different and super memorable and the jhol momos were just swimming in flavorful curry. Made me want to come back again. Fast-forward three years later, I feel like things have changed significantly. Or maybe I didn't catch them at their best, but I came with another group of friends and I just felt overall disappointed with the food, as did my friends who were excited to try Himalayan food for the first time. I had the goat dhat bhat and the small amount of meat served in aesthetically pleasing bowls to mask the portion was disappointing--and this was not a lunch special or anything. I mainly got a big bone and realistically got about 2-3 small bites of actual meat, while there was an overwhelming amount of rice and veggies. The momos also tasted like they were pre-made and heated or steamed up again because the dough was definitely a little rough. Overall, this experience was a meh for me. I think it is a social staple for many Nepalese and Tibetans in the area, and just for that.
