Unfortunately, the same attention doesn't seem to be given to basic cleanliness and maintenance. The public restrooms and showers were unacceptable. A paper towel sat on the bathroom counter from the time we checked in until the following day, making it hard to believe the facilities were cleaned during that time. The showers themselves were dirty, but the worst part was one of the rubber shower mats. It had been flipped over, exposing a thick layer of black mold covering most of the underside. Seeing something like that in a shared shower is both disgusting and raises serious questions about how often these facilities are actually cleaned. The park does have some positives. The grass is in decent shape, and compared to many RV parks in the area, there were relatively few stickers for our dogs to pick up. Unfortunately, the overnight sprinklers ran long enough to soak not only the lawn but also my outdoor mat, even though it was sitting completely on the concrete pad outside our RV. In the end, what I remember most isn't the rules or the grass--it's the dirty showers and moldy shower mat. If management spent as much effort maintaining the facilities as they do enforcing park rules, this would be a much better place to stay

No wi-fi, no cable, no restrooms. If I am paying for a site, all three of those are mandatory. The campground itself is set next to the Merced River so there is good scenery, but the campground itself is old and worn out. I would say that' 80% plus are all permanent residents, some of their equipment in very poor condition. The roads are all gravel and my site was very un-level. I think there is good potential here, but there needs to be a lot of investment made to get this park back to a destination people will want to visit.

Being accused one day of not cleaning up after using the restroom when it was already dirty when I went in to use the restroom. The RV parking is ia short walking distance from the river"s edge (hence the name) and it has two fire pits you can use till 0100. There's a male and a female bathroom (with showers) and an RV dump station too. Check-in was easy, a simple phone call, then a text message that links you to payment options and a reservation confirmation took all of about 10 minutes from start to finish. The town is small but quaint. They have a restaurant, bar, ice cream shop, and a cute little fire department. Here's where the review kinda Lost a star... Around 9 pm there were several gun shots... And again at 0120 in the morning.. Not entirely sure what's going on, but that bothers me... Call me weird, but as a solo (female) van life camper hearing gun shots near your camp site isn't what you want to experience ... Honestly the RV campground was good, but the crazy person(s) firing off weapons was something I could have done without.

What a great place to stay overnight…read more We arrived without a reservation (in the off-season). The Security Guards guided us to a self registration board and to a great site. This place has paved roads, paved pads, red lava rock between sites to conserve water, and trees at nearly all of the sites. The pull through sites are good sized (approximately 50' x 25') and the utilities are in a great location relative to most campers and RV's (last 1/4 of the drivers side of the rig). No problems with water, electric, or sewer (though the sewer does come up out of the ground about 3" so you either need a slope device (slinky, sidewinder, etc) or to walk your sewer hose after draining. The restrooms were clean - showers with individual locking doors and a wheelchair accessible shower. No trash or messes left. The laundry was clean and priced very reasonable. The office has a little area for basic RV supplies and offers coffee, etc. The pool was clean and sparkling, but it was too cold to test out. If I need to stop in for a short or longer stay, this is one I would choose again.

I feel so bad in forgetting to post the excellent work that Lap Lee did in redoing master bath. They returned small shower into a nice closet with shelves. They tore out a non functional garden tub and put in a large walk-in shower with plenty of accessible handles. Replaced sink, vanity, toilet, and flooring! They did a great job. I was so impressed with them that they will be doing my guest bathroom next week. Their work was great and their estimator was fantastic and responded promptly to my inquiry.
