This privately owned facility is exactly what was needed for my struggling parents. Their one bedroom unit is comfortable and quiet. This facility is well maintained, clean, and so well run. They receive three wonderful meals a day all expertly prepared in house. Any maintenance issued are addressed immediately. The staff goes out of their way for both residents and their families. My parents receive laundry, housekeeping, medication prompting, and showering assistance. They can also take part in lots of activities and events to keep them busy. I highly recommend Grove Manor.

Floors rarely washed, toilets hardly touched except for a cursory wipe. The laundry rooms are dirty and the lint filter is always full, which is a fire hazard. Maybe staff should check occasionally? On the upside, they have some good activities and the dining room staff are always pleasant. The food is decent too. With a bit of effort, this place could be great.

The ceiling is coming apart and falling on residents and the carpet in the dining room is dirty and cross from all the spilled food and drinks that we can't clean because it's carpet. Management is horrible. Two of the supervisors are alcoholics and the third lets people walk all over him. The Chef is a horrible person. He got mad at me and has completely taken me off the schedule. The higher ups/HR don't do anything about the horrible way he treats and talks to employees. Please don't apply to work in dining and don't send your families here. A resident was choking and when we asked a nurse to help him, she threw her hands up and said, "What am I supposed to do?" I don't know, help him? Like you're a nurse, what kind of question is that? The whole Dining department is just a mess. You have good servers that don't get scheduled at all while the idiots and people who hide from their tables in the bathroom get multiple days. I really think it's just this branch that is so bad so maybe look in another city or state. This Brookdale will starve your family members by how bad the food is and leave them dirty and gross in their room because the nurses don't want to give them a shower.

When I asked about it I was told it was in the storage closet and staff is forbidden to do CPR. So EVERYONE is DNR? 5) staff needs to have better background checks. I was once out at a nearby store and saw a friend of my moms shopping with an aide. She was being horribly verbally abused. 6) response time to calls to the concierge for help or meds is too slow. I've seen staff just wave the front desk off and yell "oh, he can wait." Usually aides are watching tv. Anyway, please avoid this place or get your parents into another.

I called the office and was told to definitely come in and they will be able to do an X-ray there- well, after seeing a nurse practitioner( no dr) who told me that she honestly didn't think it was broken and also that apparently they only have ONE person to do the x-ray, and conveniently she was on vacation that week- SERIOUSLY!? The nurse also said I could go to the hospital "if I really wanted". Considering the swelling, bruising and severe amount of pain I was experiencing, I decided it was best to get an actual diagnosis. The minute I went in for an x-ray at Quincy medical center, the technician instantly looked at my hand and said "oh that IS broken" and then took the X-rays to confirm. Aside from the broken hand incident, most recently I have been completely and utterly appalled by the entire staff including my doctor at this facility. I have been on the same prescriptions for years and I just recently started seeing Dr Delgado, who I informed of all prior diagnosis, medications etc, and at first, she completely refused to re-prescribe medications I had been taking for years that have improved my quality of life- Soon after I made another appointment with her because I was experiencing side effects from not taking the medicines i have taken for years so I wanted to re-discuss things with her....she finally agreed to giving me only one prescription that I had previously been on and NO refills- So when I called the office and left a message on the prescription voicemail regarding having the script re-filled; nobody had the courtesy to call me back to say that they were not sending a re-fill!!!! I called again a week later, leaving another message asking them to please have dr Delgado at the very least call me back to discuss the re- fill. Once again absolutely no call back from anyone. I called back one final time in hopes that someone would answer or at least have the common courtesy to return my message and still nothing. To this very day nobody has ever returned those messages....absolutely despicable lack of any professionalism and I will never recommend this office to anyone
