Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. It wasn't very busy, especially for a Friday night, but service still felt like an afterthought. Our bartender/server seemed much more focused on pouring herself beers and chatting than paying attention to customers. There were two people behind the bar who were also serving tables, but most of the time it felt like they were more interested in hanging out with their regulars than checking on guests. They were out of traditional wings, which was disappointing. My husband said the boneless wings weren't very good. The homemade salsa and beer cheese were actually the highlights and were both really good. The rest of the food missed the mark. My chicken Caesar wrap came with soggy chicken and tasted like it had been drenched in Italian dressing instead of Caesar. The fries were limp and soggy. We spent what felt like forever trying to get someone's attention just to ask for ranch so we could add some flavor. The beer itself was decent, and I'd probably come back for that. But based on this visit, I wouldn't come back for the food, and I definitely wouldn't go in expecting good service.

Along with Garlic Cheesecurds. Then as I had teased Gabby our severer I would follow coffee with donuts. I had the Donut Stout and my spouse had the Mexican Lager. So of course we had to have the Bavarian Petrels to go with it. Of course by this time the creative ideas start to flow so our next choice was a beer we shared a 1/4 of coffee stout and 3/4 of donut stout. Oh my! Good thing I am retired or this would my coffee choice each morning! We both loved the mix and then I talked to Zach about how I hoped both will be available in January when I am back in the area. He liked my input or talked like he did. I am so glad that we have a local brewery for when family come in but that we can stop by and say Hi. So when it comes to service it was excellent, thank you Gabby. When it it comes to the food it was awesome and the decor. I still want the lights in my home or at least may she shed if my spouse won't rewire the house.

I'd like to preface this review that I only gave 5 stars because I can't give 10!…read moreWhen I pulled in I knew this was a place where everyone knows everyone that walks through the doors. This may also have been the cleanest diner I've ever been. I went to Mary B's for a breakfast meeting. I was going to be here for 2-hrs. Once seated I ordered coffee- that coffee never went below 1/2 a cup all 2 hrs. Also- it's not like they were standing around waiting- they were busy!! My server JAN- had a smile from ear to ear the ENTIRE time I was there. She was even smiling when she turned away from tables heading in another direction- she is the type of employee you want to keep forever! Now- why you're really reading this.... THE FOOD. The coffee was good & hot. The menu is filled with plenty of options- I had trouble deciding. JAN helped! I decided on the Denver omelette with hash browns & sourdough toast cooked on the flattop- which made the toast a 10/10! Please take note- I had to take a bite before I took a picture.... The food, service, and Ambiance is 100/10!

The only reason I did not give it five stars is because of the price. We are senior citizens and on a fixed income. The price of the buffet is pretty high for us, but if you look around, everything is pretty much going up in price. But as far as the food and service, it can't be beat. Oh, the hours for the buffet too are great. They keep it open to 1pm which is nice if you have a morning appointment, you still have time to hit the buffet.

The hospital in Parkersburg gets a shipment of blood from Columbus six? days a week, I believe. I'm trying to take this route once a week. And when I'm done with my delivery and before I head back to CBUS, I'm going to stop at Chams for lunch. It's not someplace I'd expect in downtown small-city WV, though maybe I'm just prejudging. Probably just prejudging. But it's a very Lebanese place. Nary a French fry in sight. But a nice long menu of middle eastern street food for lunch. Seriously yummy wraps, some salads, a few other things, and baklava. I've been twice. First time, I got the spicy wrap. Excellent. Very tasty, multifaceted flavors; each bite something just a bit different from the last. Just a little heat, nothing like Thai or Szechuan. Your spouse should be able to handle it, but they'll make a surprised noise for the first couple of bites and their nose may sweat. My second trip's lunch was shawarma wrap. Same yumminess, different flavors; no heat. Both were five stars. Also got baklava, one for me, one for my wife because she'd be able to smell the honey and walnuts on my breath when I got home and be very cross if I didn't. We both thought it was very good, if not quite amazing. Second trip I came home with Chams' cream cheese baklava. It's different - a big hunk of, well, cream cheese instead of walnut filling, but still wonderful sticky gooey honey on top. I thought it was very good again, but it wasn't to my wife's taste - just too much cheese for her. Each to their own, right? They also have pistachio baklava, and each kind comes in either filo wrapping or birds-nest style. I love both. The store is clean. Parking on the street nearby isn't much of a challenge when they open at 11AM. The staff is VERY friendly and all speak with just enough accent to be charming yet perfectly understandable. They want you to enjoy your food, and I did. I'll be back. Go there.
