Breakfast burritos/sandwiches are my most often reviewed item. The version here is in the upper echelon. Homemade English Muffins seem to be a thing, they vary greatly by venue. Here they're more like the traditional Thomas' type you grew up with. I'm partial to those by Dos Hermanos (which can be purchased at New Seasons.) And there's the fluffy kind like at Providore and Tiny Love Bakery. There's usually a line at this one-person shop. The owner is very cool and personable. I opted for the OG which includes pesto, harissa, and homemaker delicious sausage. While it includes Portland favorite Tillamook dark yellow cheddar, what would take this sandwich to another level is a more interesting cheese. Not sure why there's such an obsession with dark yellow cheddar. Other than the gooey factor, it packs very little taste. The espresso concoction on special was also very good. A worthy spot for sure. read more

This spot is a hidden little gem. I found street parking right away (yayyyy) and found the adorable yellow cart quickly. The service was so friendly and fast. The cart was cute and clean. The sandwich was next level delicious. The home made English muffin is perfectly made. The sausage is super flavorful and the cheese pull on the sandwich was legitimately perfect. There is also a decent-sized covered seating area and a water refill spout. The menu is small which makes things easier to order and choose from. Most of my friends ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and I decided to order the Rene. It did take close to 30minutes for our order to come up which we weren't warned about... but once the food came up, we enjoyed every bite! A quick review for the breakfast sandwiches here, wow! These are amazing! My partner & I had the the regular and the veggie one and they're both equally delicious. I think they actually test better if you let them sit in their wrappers for a few minutes and let the ooey gooey cheese & the pesto seep into all the nooks and crannies of the English muffins. If you show up on a nice enough morning (or even some of the chilly ones - they have tons of heat lamps keeping you warm), you will see lots of people completely silent as they focus on their Sunrise Co. breakfast sandwiches. Sunrise also has espresso drinks, along with the juices. The drinks are good enough that I've seen customers come just for a beverage. Stopped by for a couple breakfast sammies and some coffee and left feeling on cloud nine! This may be the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The English muffin was the perfect balance of crispy and soft. The egg was also perfectly crispy and cooked to perfection. The cheese added just the right flavor and the impossible sausage gave all the savory notes that I needed. The ratio between bread, cheese, egg, and meat could not have been more meticulous and I am so impressed. We met the owner and face behind Sunrise a few years ago at another food cart and relocated him during our trip to Portland serving up some amazing breakfast sandwiches from this new spot! We've all had a Sausage McMuffin at some point in our life but the mouth watering breakfast sandwiches served fresh and hot and a homemade English muffin were sooo good and tasty here (yes, better than Model bakery for you Bay Area folks). It was the perfect ratio of a sausage patty, cheese and egg and the English muffins were delicious! I forgot to mention the special sauce which was the icing on top. So flavorful! Sunrise also serves up some lighter options with various spreads and coffee options. Plenty of covered seating close by with restrooms too. Where can you go for weekend breakfast at 10am without a wait? Sunrise! I made my first visit to Sunrise this morning and was greeted by a zero wait line. I ordered the standard breakfast sandwich: fried egg, sausage, cheddar, pesto, and a hint of garlic on an English muffin. I've had plenty of ho-hum breakfast sandwiches and this is definitely not one of them! Not only are the English muffins made in-house but so is the perfectly flavored sausage patty. Whaaat!? A steady stream of people trickled in after me but the line remained under 2 people. Plenty of cart pod seating. Super quick, suuuper delicious. I hope they'll offer non-coffee beverages in the future like matcha or chai, as well as decaf for split shots. I'll definitely be back regardless! read more
