Puddletown Bagels has some of the best bagels + cream cheeses I've ever had. Quite possibly the best in Portland. And they're located in a food cart pod! The bagels are crispy and chewy, but still somehow soft and fluffy to the bite. It was hard to choose a bagel+schmear combo--they have so many to choose from! 100/10. The worker was challenging me, when I ask him Do you where gloves? I am the customer!!! I am a Microbiologist, 24 years, therefore I can ask anything appropriately "cleanness ". He does not use gloves. This is alarming. I understand a lot of businesses stop using gloves with food services, due to cost, Unfortunately, people will never pachronize your businesses!! . The lox didn't taste like it was smoked, it instead tasted like unseasoned baked fish. Really good bagels, good price, convenient location. But I received some of the worst service ever when I stopped by today. It was pouring rain, and I stood out in front of the cart for a minute or two while the server (if we can call him that) ignored me. I started waving to him, and he opened the sliding window and said "Can I help you?" -- without a smile or greeting, without an apology or explanation for why he didn't see me, without a joke about the rain, nothing, no personal connection. I ordered three bagels to go: two pumpernickel and one poppyseed. He went to get them and then asked me, "There's only one pumpernickel, is that OK?" Well, no, of course I want something else for the third bagel. I told him I'd get the one pumpernickel, one poppyseed and one everything. He bagged them, told me the price, collected payment and set the bag on the counter, without another word. No "thank you," no "have a nice day," no "stay dry out there," no smile. I sure hope this guy was just filling in on emergency basis and that he does not work there, or in any service job, on a regular basis. I will go back again but if I have a similar experience I won't go a third time. read more

Came here on a whim today. It was absolutely delish. Usually I'm a make a breakfast sandwich at home kind of gal and nothing beats that. But this place for the price, quality and taste I was impressed! The bagel was good quality and crispy while still soft enough to bite. I got a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and even though so simple it was so tasty! They seem to be busy and have a lot of online orders but when we got there we ordered and got our sandwiches pretty quickly. I really recommend checking it out. read more

As a very big fan of the onion bagel, I am always on the hunt for places that have them. I use to live in NYC and the onion bagel doesn't seem to be as popular here as it is there. When I found them at Puddletown Bagels I was ecstatic! We ordered ahead of time and everything was ready when we got there so we didn't have to wait at all. It was a cold & rainy day and although they had a covered seating area we opted to eat in the car so we could have the heat on. Lox sandwiches on onion bagels are one of my very favorite breakfasts and these were perfect! We took bites of the pizza bagel, but they had already gotten cold. We ended up bringing the pizza bagel home and popped them in the air fryer and they were excellent. I will absolutely be back! read more

I'm so mad it took me this long to try this place! Absolutely loved the taste and texture of these bagels! Came on a weekend morning and didn't have to wait too long to order or get my food. After I ordered quite a few people showed up to pick up orders so I may do that next time if it's too cold out! Loved the everything bagel and the prices were not bad either. Tried puddletown for the first time, it's in my neighborhood and I finally had a chance to try it. I ordered a lox bagel and a coffee on Thursday morning and I had a great experience! The guy greeted me with a smile and got me my bagel and coffee fast. Included the straw with napkins inside. And don't forget about the food! Ugh it was great! The flavors were there but the presentation could have been better. My bagel wasn't toasted nearly enough unfortunately. My toppings were regular cream cheese, capers and tomato. It was presented as a sandwich so I couldn't eat each half separately without sacrificing tomatoes or capers. I'll request extra toasted or toppings on the side if ever go back.
