The co-owner, JP Rapagnani, took us on, attracted the attention of Solar Edge, came onsite and got the battery reconnected and updated, installed optimizers on three dark panels, and, finally, washed the panels. Cutting edge tech, materials and thought processes. That achieves a high end result when the RIGHT PEOPLE are doing the work. So I did my research. I asked all kinds of companies for bids. I had a guy spit on my sidewalk while dropping eff bombs in front of my wife during the walk around. (I didn't even allow him to finish just invited him off the premises ) to other guys offering WAY LESS for WAY MORE $. Then I had people telling me that what I wanted was impossible. So one day. I'm at work and a dude comes in with his company car. A Tesla. And dude is wearing a Tesla shirt. And I ask dude what division of Tesla he works in ? The power wall division. (SCORE !!) so in the course of conversing with this dude I drop that I need a trustworthy , intelligent , forthright and upstanding Tesla power wall / solar system installer / vendor. Dude says. "How about .. like maybe the guy that worked on designing the systems and then opened his own company ?" Ummm YEAH DUDE !! Exactly like that. "Well then. Call Marcello at Coastside Clean Energy !" I did. Marcello met me on my schedule. He explored our build site and seemed genuinely jazzed for us. Shortly after the bid. My super genius electrical engineer friend geeked out on their bid and sent me a 9 PAGE (annotated ) email evaluating the bid. There was electrical wizardry mentioned. Lotsa techno jargon and something about "killa this and Watta that" essentially stuff that made my head itch. But. The last line did it. "And in conclusion. I believe this to be a well thought out. Well designed and very fairly priced proposal. I'd do it exactly this way ." Signed the deal w Marcelo. He worked directly with my roofer and general contractor. Humphrey was phenomenal in comms and follow through. And they returned promptly when I requested a follow up visit to address some minor stuff. I work fine auto repair. I'm the son of a fine finish carpenter. I was taught to work by a WWII Marine that then became a USAF fighter pilot. (Dude was all about discipline and details. ). I am a stickler for quality and I can become a real A Hole if things aren't done with precision , care , thought , respect and professionalism. That said. I recognized the quality from Coastside Clean Energy as soon as I walked the job. Marcello and Humphrey are friendly. Genuine. They are a lean team. No huge marketing or operational overhead. His quotes have been some of the best out there and for the quality and service he provides I don't think there is another solar contractor that is better than Aleksei. He is more than happy to accommodate your request but I highly recommend asking his thoughts. I had an existing enphase solar system and he more than doubled the solar capacity and added 2 PW3 all for a fraction of what others quoted. I cannot imagine anyone not happy with Aleksei's professionalism, expertise, and service.

After learning about the expansion, he strongly encouraged me to meet Benny, a general contractor, because he said Benny was very competitive. I was already in the process of selecting contractors for the expansion but had not signed a contract, so I agreed to let Benny inspect the project and show me how competitive his proposal would be. However, I did not agree that Benny would receive the expansion project, and my main reason for the introduction was still the solar-panel work. I specifically told Collin that Benny did not appear interested in doing only the solar project. Collin assured me that the solar work would have nothing to do with whether Benny received the roofing or expansion work. Based on that assurance, I continued the process and asked Benny to prepare a contract for only the solar portion. When Benny stopped responding, I asked Collin whether I should find another solar contractor. Collin responded, "We can do it," and agreed to contact Benny about preparing the contract. Benny later informed me that the solar price had actually been offered with the expectation that his company would receive the entire addition project. Since I wanted only the solar work, Benny declined the job. I forwarded Benny's response to Collin. Collin apologized for the confusion and said he would call Benny the following day to sort it out, but I never received another update. The main problem was that I specifically asked whether the solar proposal was tied to the larger expansion project and was assured that it was not. I relied on that assurance and lost valuable time. Clear disclosure of the condition from the beginning--and a final follow-up after promising to resolve the issue--would have prevented this experience.

Then he explained the process to me with patience, knowledge and an understanding of my situation. We settled on a date for roof inspection. My roof is difficult to access and they had to come back several times with different ladders but they never gave up and the weren't ever not confident that it could be done easy. Finally the right tools were located. The team was very professional. The install went very well and caused no damage to the roof or my house. The service afterwards has also been great. This is a great value with no cost upfront. PG&E is naturally trying to claw back some sort of a pay increase but so far has been honest at true up. They just increase the price for gas. 5 stars. I recommend them
